Senior Spotlight

March 2001

I'm the oldest of the Brewer Girls. I'm 18 and getting mighty close to 19. To look at me you wouldn't know I was an older cat. True the tips of my paws are gray but the rest of me is holding up really well. According to my family and the vet I do have some senility issues. I look at it this way. A girl needs exercise. Now I could chase a ball around like that silly kit, Sammy or I can sedately walk circles around the heater vent. I consider walking in circles to be much more dignified. My vocalizing all night is just to make sure everybody knows that I'm alive and well. It also has the added advantage of keeping my lungs filled with fresh air. I will admit I don't hear as well as I used to but who wants to hear "Shut up, Sasha" all night long!

During my life time I had many wonderful experiences and a few challenges. As a kitten, Meowmie
would take me and my sisfur, Angie, on the airplane to visit Grandma in Muleshoe, Texas. It was
wonderfur. Grandma had a basement under the house we get into and chase mice. What fun! I helped Meowmie breed cockatiels and parrots and a maintain huge aquarium. It was a fun life growing up.

I am Meowmie's cat. We garden together, play together and sleep together. When we adopted Farfur in 1989 I insisted he get his own room. The dogs sleep with Farfur. I do grant Spike and Sammy space on my bed but Meowmie's arms are wrapped around me all night, except when I'm exercsing and yodeling. (Yodeling sounds much better than vocalizing). We have rescued baby birds that have fallen from the nest. I have been known to carry them to Meowmie in my mouth so they wouldn't get cold. I would never hurt an innocent baby bird.

In 1987 I discovered CLAW and joined immediately. I was so impressed to find other kitties on the
internet working together and growing together. In 1998 I received my Bachlors in Human Studies from CLAW U. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Last August I received my Masters in Human Understanding from CLAW. I was the first cat in my fa,ily to receive education and I am still learning. I am working on a Ph.D in Human Understanding at TCMC Cativersity. I'm actually napping on it more than anything. In January I received my Honarable Degree from CLAW and am working toward my Masters. In the upcoming graduation at TCMC Cativersity I have been approved for a Master of Home and Technical Studies. I am also working toward a Master of Feline Arts and Sciences. A cat is never to old to learn.

My preferences are for My sisfurs to work in the limelight of the cat clubs while I fill behind the scences jobs. I am web designer and proud member of the Ilder Cats society. I am a member of CLAW's Problem and Solution Committee. During my spare time when I am not napping or cuddling you will find me playing at Fuzzy Kitties or Hope's Pampered Princess and Princes. i"m not ready to chuck it all in. I have lots more to do with my life.

My motto is simple and I will pass it on to you. Allow yourself to love and be loved and you will have a happy life. There is always time in a each day for a purring.
