    AGA KHAN TO ESTABLISH MAJOR ACADEMIC AND CULTURAL CENTER AND MUSEUM IN CANADA

 Toronto, Canada, 8th October, 2002--The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) today announced its intention to establish in Toronto a museum housing exceptional collections of Islamic art and heritage as well as a unique academic and cultural center focused on the study and practice of human pluralism.

The museum will be dedicated to the acquisition, preservation, display and interpretation of artefacts relating to the intellectual, cultural, artistic and religious traditions of Muslim communities, past and present. Artifacts will include ceramics, metalwork and paintings covering all periods of Islamic history.  Manuscripts in the collection will include the earliest one extant of Avicenna’s Qanun fi’l Tibb (The Canon of Medicine) dated 1052.  

 The institute for the study of human pluralism represents a landmark collaboration by the Network with the Government of Canada in an effort to foster pluralist societies worldwide, accelerating and widening the benefits of development, while promoting good governance and human security.

    In recent years, the Aga Khan has been working to establish on a pivotal site in the Western world, an educational and cultural complex of international pre-eminence that can contribute solutions towards problems of human development but also advance public understanding. The purpose of such a center is to bring onto a single site a concentration of resources in humanities and human development (incorporating education and medicine), strengthening and expanding the capacities of the AKDN through partnerships with public and private institutions. The initiative on pluralism results from discussions that the Aga Khan has held with leaders from all walks of Canadian life over the past many years, including most recently with Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, senior government ministers and Canadian parliamentarians. jesus was 'the light'

    John 1:7 (KJV) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of 'the Light,' that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. please note above that jesus did not exist as an INDEPENDENT LIGHT per se, i.e., PRIOR to the creation of the world. rather, god created light and darkness first. 

and more importantly, although 'MAN WAS CREATED IN OUR IMAGE,' by all the biblical accounts, HE WAS 'THE LAST LIVING'  CREATURE TO BE CREATED ON THE SIXTH DAY, probably as tiller. 

Genesis 2:5 (KJV) And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground. for all practical purposes, EVE WAS CREATED after ALL THE LIVING CREATURES AND ADAM HIMSELF.

so, until this time, jesus was not present as THE LIGHT.  the only bible passages that come close to attributing this phenomenon of 'LIGHT' to god himself are the following, which speak for themselves:

in what sense would the god REVEAL HIS EVERLASTING LIGHT? HIS LIGHT will be no more than the REPLACEMENT LIGHT only. he will REPLACE both the sunlight and the moonlight. and the lamb, jesus had been depicted in the same manner.

changing the light bulbs for more brightness

Isaiah 60:19 (KJV) The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.


Isa 60:19
t. Signifying that all worldly means will cease, and that Christ will 
be all in all, as in Re 21:23,5.

regardless, they were all intended for one purpose only. GIVING THE LIGHT, AND MORE LIGHT! it was like replacing one light bulb with another of a higher voltage.

despite the examples cited from the bible, nowhere else did the lord god say more directly that 'he was the LIGHT,' as is mentioned often in the HOLY QUR'AN, by comparison.

moreover, the concept of the divine LIGHT - NOOR of allah is explained as a SUPERNATURAL PHENOMENON, which guides to the right path -- i.e., towards THE GOD HIMSELF. it is the OBJECT of the spiritual search and journey. it is the OBJECT OF spiritual enlightenment. it is the ultimate DESTINATION of the human SOUL.

it is in this context that i request that you view THE ISMAILI JAMATKHANA  and center, houston, as much, much more than a place of congregation, and a home for administrative offices. THE CENTER WILL BE A PLACE OF PEACE, humility, reflection and prayer.  IT WILL BE A PLACE OF SEARCH AND E_N_L_I_G_H_T_E_N_M_E_N_T, not of anger and of obscurantism.

that said, the biblical concept of a 'PERSONIFIED LIGHT APPEARS'  ONLY in the new testament, as just seen. 

'shew them light, and the way wherein they should go'

Exodus 13:21 (KJV) And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: Nehemiah 9:19 (KJV) Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.Psalms 105:39 (KJV) He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

besides the above god created the lights, the greater light and lesser light and stars -- in that ORDER -- for a specific purpose like so:

  • Genesis 1:14 (KJV) And God said, 

  • Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven 

  • to divide the day from the night;

  •  and let them be for signs, 

  • and for seasons, 

  • and for days, 

  • and years: 

  • 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven 

  • to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

  • 16 And God made two great lights; 

  •  

  • the greater light to rule the day,

  •  

  • and the lesser light to rule the night: 

  • [he made] the stars also.

apparently, jesus was NO PART of  this set-up as well. neither adam nor eve had sinned up to this time and, perhaps, jesus' light was NOT REQUIRED to correct them.  

however, his light was NOT there when needed most, to guide or help them and/or even prevent them from their fall, as a result of the satan/serpent's beguile.

  1. jesus was simply NOT there. 

  2. he did not save adam and eve. 

  3. he did not save the patriarchs either. 

  4. so, where was jesus at this time?

  5. jesus was NOT YHWH and vice versa.

'ALL THAT in them IS'

Acts 14:15 (KJV) And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

     Acts 4:24 (KJV) And when they heard that, they lifted up their   voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, <1203> thou [art] God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and ALL THAT in them IS: Acts 17:24 (WEB) The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, Acts 4:26 (KJV) The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

please note the very clear distinction made between THE LORD GOD and 'his christ' by the original apostles themselves. they did NOT ascribe any kind of divinity to jesus christ say AFTER, his BRIEF earthly mission, as may be seen or deduced from the above quoted. 

on the other hand, only paul attributed  divinity to jesus christ, following his disputable vision/s, incoherent and contradictory testimonies thereof and subsequent conversion to the very faith founded by him, 'in the name of "the risen christ".'  see acts 9:3-26; acts 22:6-16 and acts 26:6-16.

Acts 9:20 (KJV) And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. Acts 9:22 (KJV) But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.  Acts 11:26 (KJV) And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

And the disciples were called Christians, etc. As this became the 
distinguishing name of the followers of Christ, it was worthy of 
record. The name was evidently given because they were the  
followers of Christ. ... It is evident from the 
New Testament, I think, that it was not designed as a term of 
reproach. It is but twice used besides this place: Ac 26:28, 
"Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a

regardless, kindly study the following with some intelligence and note the glaring truth which stands out on its own merit.

1.     Acts 4:24  -- Lord: 1203

Word Origin: Greek,  Noun Masculine, Strong #: 1203

  1. a master, Lord 
  2. Lord. Greek, despota. From this word is derived the word despot. This is not the usual word employed by which to address God. The word commonly translated Lord is KurioV. 
  3.    The word here used denotes one who rules over others, and was applied to the highest magistrate or officer. It denotes authority, power, absoluteness in ruling. It is a word denoting more authority in ruling than the other. That more commonly denotes a property in a thing; this denotes absolute rule. It is applied to God, in Lu 2:29; Re 6:10; Jude 1:4

2.    'ALL THAT in them IS' -- did this not include the very pre-eternal existence, creation, death, resurrection and ascension of jesus christ as well? 

he also commanded as follows: 

    Exodus 22:28 (KJV) Thou shalt not REVILE THE GODS, nor curse the ruler of thy people.

who then, were these 'GODS' besides THE LORD GOD before the advent of jesus christ, about whom the children of israel were forewarned as above? and that's not all!

as shown before, saint john, the purported author of the gospel of john and the book of revelation -- FAILED ABSOLUTELY TO RECOGNIZE the divinity of jesus christ in the latter scripture. see also frnds_israel_larry_pg_1; CLEARING CERTAIN BIBLICAL MISCONCEPTIONS; foundation destroyed; salem; another_911;

jesus was NOT RECONFIRMED as 'a god' besides 'THE GOD' -- IN THE DIVINE PRESENCE

  a.    why was jesus christ EXCLUDED from the DIVINE ASSEMBLY at the most critical time of his DIVINE MISSION? 

b.    was it BECAUSE he was 'spiritually vis-ŕ-vis physically' on mount sion then, perhaps, on a special mission or assignment? 

.c.    then, what about his redeemed 'virgin' followers?

    d.    did they BENEFIT 'SPIRITUALLY' by following their master and LORD, the said jesus christ?

E.    WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF  HIS 'NON-VIRGIN' FOLLOWERS?

RELAX, take a deep breath and think rationally. why was jesus 'physically or spiritually'  EXCLUDED  from the DIVINE ASSEMBLY -  referred to @ revelation 14:1-7? see below.

although, the said chapter opened with mention of the LAMB and his 144,000 redeemed 'virgin' followers -- ['These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins'] -- there was no further SIGNIFICANT mention of HIM and his 144,000 redeemed 'virgin' followers. 

for all practical purposes, like jesus christ their master and lord, they too LOST OUT big time on that occasion. they 'FOLLOWED' him to mount sion INSTEAD of remaining in the GOD'S DIVINE PRESENCE. 

frankly, what could be more important than BEING IN THE DIVINE PRESENCE of god and the 'PARTY OF GOD'? 

 

54:54. Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers, 54:55. In the seat of honor IN THE PRESENCE OF a most POWERFUL KING.  --  54. Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaharin  55. Fee maq'adi sidqin INDA MALEEKIN MUQTADIR -- 

 

regardless, see the irrevocable and irrefutable biblical facts below before you rush to any premature and irrational judgment to the detriment of your own soul.

    'These are they which follow the Lamb - [jesus christ] - whithersoever he   goeth.'

in other words, those 144,000 redeemed 'virgin' followers were away with A LAMB on some mission on MOUNT SION.

where was/is mount sion LOCATED?

This verse represents to us a fresh vision which St. John had, in which several things are very observable, as, 1. What and whom St. John was, a Lamb, by whom Christ is to be understood. 2. The posture which this Lamb was found in, he stood, showing thereby his readiness to deliver his church, and to do every thing that is needful for her. 3. The place where he stood on, Mount Sion, that is, in the midst of the church ...Observe, 4. His company and attendants, and they are described two ways, 1. By their number, to wit, an hundred forty and four thousand, 

     Mount Zion literally denoted the southern hill in Jerusalem, on which a part of the city was built. That part of the city was made by David and his successors the residence of the court, and soon the name Zion was given familiarly to the whole city. Jerusalem was the centre of religion in the land

so we have to ask ourselves again.

a.    why were jesus and his followers EXCLUDED from the said DIVINE ASSEMBLY, as just seen?

b.    that said, why was there no other mention of them in any SIGNIFICANT context thereafter in chapter 14 of the book of revelation, under review? please read EACH VERSE with intelligence, if you will.

c.    and more importantly, WHY was jesus' divinity NOT RECONFIRMED in THE GOD'S HOLY AND DIVINE PRESENCE then?

    JESUS' EXCLUSION FROM THE DIVINE ASSEMBLY

besides the above proof of divine pluralism in the world scriptures, please note the above - Revelation 14:1-7 -  very carefully BECAUSE it says much more than what is apparent at first. 

not only was jesus conveniently EXCLUDED from the DIVINE PRESENCE but also NO aspect of his johannine divinity --  was RECONFIRMED by its author, who had bestowed it earlier on jesus christ -- the 'word.'  see john 1:1-4,14.  

since jesus himself did not leave behind any scripture per se, it would be incorrect to assume that the reference to THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL referred  to his book or original teachings, of which there's absolutely no trace. 

but more importantly, jesus acknowledged his 'god' in the divine realm.

    he invoked 'MY GOD-ELI x 4' - in one single verse:

       Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of MY GOD-ELI [1], and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of MY GOD-ELI [2], and the name of the city of MY GOD-ELI [3], which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from MY GOD-ELI [4]: 

and I will write upon him MY NEW NAME.

please read this very carefully.  not only did jesus have a GOD but also he will return with a new name.'   meaning  that jesus will NOT RETURN with his old name! and to expect him to return as 'jesus'  will be a futile expectation altogether.

   The faithful and true witness. This is presenting the idea implied in the word   A_m_e_n in a more complete form, but substantially the same thing is referred to. He is a witness for God and his truth, and he can approve of nothing which the God of truth would not approve. Cmt. on Re 1:5.

The beginning of the creation of God. This expression is a very important one in regard to the rank and dignity of the Saviour, and, like all similar expressions respecting him, its meaning has been much controverted. Cmt. on Col 1:15. The phrase here used is susceptible, properly, of only one of the following significations, viz.: either

(a) that he was the beginning of the creation in the sense that he caused the universe to begin to exist--that is, that he was the author of all things; or
(b) that he was the first created being; or
(c) that he holds the primacy over all, and is at the head of the universe. It is not necessary to examine any other proposed interpretations, for the only other senses supposed to be conveyed by the words, that he is the beginning of the creation in the sense that he rose from the dead as the first-fruits of them that sleep, or that he is the head of the spiritual creation of God, are so foreign to the natural meaning of the words as to need no special refutation. As to the three significations suggested above, it may be observed, that the first one--

     that he is the author of the creation, and in that sense the beginning, though expressing a scriptural doctrine, (Joh 1:3; Eph 3:9; Col 1:16) -- is not in accordance with the proper meaning of the word here used-- arch. 

The word properly refers to the commencement of a thing, not its authorship, and denotes properly primacy in time, and primacy in rank, but not primacy in the sense of causing anything to exist. The two ideas which run through the word as it is used in the New Testament are those just suggested. For the former--primacy in regard to time--that is properly the commencement of a thing
