   THE DIVINE PROPHECY FULFILLED  

        9:32. They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse. 9:33. He it is Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth--WA DIINIL--HAQQI, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions, though the polytheists may be averse. see 9:31-33; 48:28,29.

     22: 6. That is because that Allah, He is the Truth -- bi-annallaaha huwal haqqu -- and because He quickeneth the dead, and because He is Able to do all things -- wa annahuu alaa kulli shay-in qadiir. -- 22:62. That is because that Allah, He is the True--bi-annallaaha huwal haqqu, and that whereon they call instead of Him, it is the false, and that Allah, He is the most High, the Great -- wa annallaaha huwal ALIYYUL^[*]      kabiir.

"I think that monotheistic religions, having an analogous belief in an only God, should and must dialogue. The three religions which Abraham inspired have many more common facets than those which divide them. Religion must be a means by which to affirm the ethical significance of existence, irrelevant of one's faith. If we want social development, to meet halfway, to dialogue, peace, we cannot neglect ethics and the impact which education and culture have on social growth.

The Aga Khan: "I am amazed by the ignorance of Islam".

PARIS - He is one of the spiritual leaders of Islam who best knows the land and the people of Central Asia, the area which holds the world in suspense.  He is the Imam, the religious leader and guide of the Ishamilite, whose communities are spread in various countries of Asia and Africa, but also in Europe and in North America. Throughout Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and West China, there are more than five million Ishmaelite. 

   

His Highness, the Aga Khan, is the 49th direct descendant of Mohammad, through Ali, his cousin who married Fatima, the Prophet's daughter.  

 The leader is the 49th descendant of Mohammad, one of the principal spiritual leaders of Muslim Shi'ites:

a THINKING islam and a SPIRITUAL islam
an islam that teaches compassion, tolerance
and the DIGNITY  of MAN, allah's NOBLEST creation.'

Aga Khan

    Mr. John Godfrey (Don Valley West, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, to my friends in the Ismaili community I say Ya Ali Madad.

    I ask the House to join me in extending a warm welcome to their leader, His Highness the Aga Khan. The Aga Khan succeeded his grandfather as Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili muslims in 1957. As a religious leader he has promoted a view of Islam as a faith that teaches compassion, tolerance and upholds human dignity.

    In keeping with this vision, the Aga Khan has led the creation of the Aga Khan Development Network. This group of institutions has made a significant contribution to peace, stability and social development in poor regions across Asia and Africa. It works to improve living conditions for all people without regard to religion or origin.

    The Aga Khan Foundation in Canada was established in 1980. It is a non-profit organization that seeks ways to improve education, health care and rural income around the world.

    I am sure that my colleagues in the House will join me in extending the best wishes to His Highness the Aga Khan. Ya Ali Madad.
