AGA KHAN DENOUNCES TALIBAN'S VERSION OF ISLAM

                 Monday, 22 October 2001

The Aga Khan: "I am amazed by the ignorance of Islam".

PARIS - He is one of the spiritual leaders of Islam who best knows the land and the people of Central Asia, the area which holds the world in suspense.
He is the Imam, the religious leader and guide of the Ishamilite, whose communities are spread in various countries of Asia and Africa, but also in Europe and in North America. Throughout Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and West China, there are more than five million Ishmaelite.

Text Box: His Highness, the Aga Khan, is the 49th direct descendant of Mohammad, through Ali, his cousin who married Fatima, the Prophet's daughter.

The leader is the 49th descendant of Mohammad, one of the principal spiritual leaders of Muslim Shi'ites:

The interview on the attack on terrorism: The Aga Khan: "I am amazed by the ignorance on Islam" and he continues: "This is not a conflict between civilisations but of reciprocal prejudices and stereotypes." .....

Says the leader of the ISMAELITS: The Taliban: "Through the Koran, they condemn themselves. The Koran prohibits the enforcement of a religious practice or of a faith. This is why the regime of the Taliban condemns itself, but it is not right to associate it with Bin Laden and to associate Bin Laden with Islam.".

According to many scholars, IT IS THE VERY ABSENCE OF A SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY which "excommunicates" radicalism which is the principal obstacle FOR THE EVOLUTION OF ISLAM. Do you agree? "The problem is wrongly posed AND IT DOES NOT CONCERN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ISLAM.

In fact, in the Shi'ite credence, one exalts the value of the intellect, of the spiritual guide, therefore of interpretation.

The Koran prohibits judging the way in which another Muslim practices faith, but it also prohibits the enforcement of a religious practice or of a faith.

"there is an enormous confusion in schools and in universities. hence in the general culture of the west there is no education regarding the muslim world and the fundamental principal of the koran are unknown: i.e. ethics, the learning of acknowledging faith in every moment of life, with coherent behaviour.

"It is also because of this that Islam did not secularise itself as did Christianity. WE DO NOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN EARTHLY MOTIVES AND SPIRITUALITY,   we do not deliberate the question of choice, in accordance with St. Augstine's concept. But the diversity of concepts exists also in Christianity. Diversity, if it stimulates discussions and encounters is a positive value. For the West, to understand the Muslim world and Islam, is to understand first of all the pluralism of peoples and their interpretations and to avoid considering the Taliban as representatives of the entire Muslim world.

What could be the Western world's reaction if a Muslim affirmed that the Inquisition and the IRA represent the Catholic world? There are however, aspects of the Islamic society about which the West cannot but wonder.

"I think that monotheistic religions, having an analogous belief in an only God, should and must dialogue. The three religions which Abraham inspired have many more common facets than those which divide them. Religion must be a means by which to affirm the ethical significance of existence, irrelevant of one's faith. If we want social development, to meet halfway, to dialogue, peace, we cannot neglect ethics and the impact which education and culture have on social growth.

Aga Khan Interview

CNN 2002Judy Woodruff interviews the Aga Khan

January 28, 2002 From:

http://www1.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/inside.politics/2002/02/04.html

(CNN) -- PRINCE KARIM AGA KHAN is considered one of the most influential voices in the Muslim world. The 65-year-old spiritual head of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims is a direct descendant of the prophet Mohammed and one of the world's wealthiest men.

Woodruff: It's 2002, do you think the U.S. is doing enough?
Aga Khan: Not enough. Certainly not enough. And I think part of the problem stems from the fact that there's this question: ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THE FAITH OF ISLAM or are we talking about the peoples? And my sense is, general knowledge is, that it's the peoples -- ALSO THE FAITH, but the peoples.

Woodruff: I hear you saying the West needs to do a better job of understanding Islam, both its people and the faith. And within Islam, you're saying there is also a need to BE MORE PLURALISTIC.
Aga Khan: Yes, absolutely. I agree.

Woodruff: Who has to make that happen?
Aga Khan: I would hope that THE INTELLIGENCE HERE, future generations of the Islamic world will look at these issues with knowledge, and wisdom, and a sense of how important they are for their own lives, their future generations. It's building a concept of the future.

Woodruff: And as someone who is devoted to your own faith how does that make you feel?
Aga Khan: Well, I have done everything I could to try and contribute to a process of change. I founded the first private university in the history of Pakistan. I am now creating a new university in Central Asia. I am sustaining a number of university programs around the world. I will do so in Afghanistan also. So I think that this notion of investing in intelligence in order that they lead thinking is something which is central to the development process at hand.

Woodruff: Your highness, we thank you very much for joining us. Thank you.
Aga Khan: Thank you.

AGA KHAN'S ADDRESS to the Commonwealth Press Union Conference -- South Africa

Delivering a keynote address to the Commonwealth Press Union Conference. At the Cape Sun, the eloquent and articulate leader Complained that while there have been major strides to improve the level of journalistic education, there still was a need for greater expertise, especially in an area close to his heart. "I REFER TO THE SUPERFICIAL AND MISLEADING WAY IN WHICH MUCH OF THE WORLD'S MEDIA TREAT THE WORLD OF ISLAM." MUSLIMS, he said, constituted a quarter of the world's people and comprised the majority population in 44 countries. Of these, he pointed out; 435 million lived in the Commonwealth.

The Cape Sun audience listened quietly. SOME SHUFFLED THEIR FEET NERVOUSLY AS THE AGA KHAN CONTINUED HIS VERBAL ASSAULT. Included in the audience were London Fleet Street's top media moguls, senior international political figures and writers.

It was little wonder that "those exceptional instances of Muslims theocrat sing Islamic politics" are mistaken as the norm while THE HUMANISTIC TEMPER OF ISLAMIC ETHICS is overlooked, he continued. "AMONG SOME OBSERVERS, THERE IS EVEN A TENDENCY TO SEE POLITICAL VIOLENCE AS A FUNCTION OF THE FAITH ITSELF - WHEN IN FACT NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH."

He said it was questionable whether there were media offices which included people who could RECOGNIZE THE DISTORTIONS HE ENUMERATED OR WHETHER THEY HAD THE ABILITY TO SET THE DISTORTIONS RIGHT.

"When the educational background is so barren and when the rhythm of our learning - as reporters and readers - is so often that of crisis, crisis, crisis, then deep misunderstanding will be the inevitable result." He said he was not suggesting every journalist becomes an EXPERT ON ISLAM.

"BUT IT WOULD HELP GREATLY IF MORE JOURNALISTS WERE AT LEAST AWARE OF THEM, AND WHERE THEY NEED TO TURN TO FIND OUT MORE.

Through an air of nervous guilt that permeated the air, the Aga Khan received a standing ovation.

this name, of the most high god, in its various forms,  [ALIYYUL[*]  -- el elyon]   was the first point of 'divine contact' between the 3 abrahamaic faiths of judaism, christianity and islam. the latter being 'the truth' per se, which is ever present in its eternal concept.

i offer my most profound and deepest gratitude to allah and my holy imam [sa] for this spiritual  guidance and realization, which, i am very happy and proud to share with the world.

although, most muslims of all castes and creeds seem to be worried all over, in view of the 'POLITICAL EVENTS' that are unfolding in our midst today, let every true muslim man, woman and child express his joy and gratitude to allah for fulfilling the said prophecy/ies at the same time.

Canada’s Prime Minister Chretien and Aga Khan Discuss Central Asia,  Pluralism and Development

Reconstruction of Afghanistan will draw on experience of
South Asia and Africa

Ottawa, Canada, 30th January, 2002—Canada’s Prime Minister Jean Chretien and His Highness the Aga Khan, Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims today together called for an increased commitment to fostering pluralism in societies across both the developing and developed worlds.

The Aga Khan, who just prior to his arrival in Ottawa, had met with Chairman Hamid Karzai of the Afghan Interim Administration, pointed to the need, in the process of reconstruction, to recognise the complexity of the country’s demography and to ensure that the rights of each distinct ethnic and religious group are respected. At the Tokyo Pledging Conference on Afghanistan ten days ago, the Aga Khan committed US$75 million to the reconstruction effort.

Earlier, Prime Minster Chretien said “it is an honour to welcome His Highness the Aga Khan to Canada.” “In his capacity as a religious leader and through the Development Network that bears his name, the Aga Khan has contributed significantly to advancement and stability in Asia and Africa while promoting Islam as a thinking, spiritual faith that teaches compassion.”

Enabling developing countries to resist dependency and  determine their own futures could only have lasting success if, according to the Aga Khan, “the processes of development recognised the extraordinary diversity of cultural, ethnic, religious and linguistic heritages of people sharing geographic space across the developing world.”

The wealthy Muslim leader and philanthropist was in Ottawa this week to discover the secret of the nation's multicultural success. But he was critical of the U.S. for its simplistic views of good and evil. 'I will not stigmatize a whole population as being evil, whether they are Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu. I can't do that,' he told JOHN STACKHOUSE and PATRICK MARTIN

By JOHN STACKHOUSE AND PATRICK MARTIN Saturday, February 2, 2002 – Print Edition, Page F3 - The Globe and Mail

In the dead of winter, the cold and grey of Ottawa is not an obvious destination for one of the world's wealthiest and most influential men. With his own jet, an estate outside Paris, stables of horses and luxury hotels on several continents, the Aga Khan can choose to go almost anywhere.

Yet the handsome, wealthy and erudite leader of 15 million Ismaili Muslims said he was eager to spend two days this week in Ottawa because, after Sept. 11, he wants Canadians to know they are "a model for the world."

"Canada is today the most successful pluralist society on the face of our globe, without any doubt in my mind. . . . That is something unique to Canada. It is an amazing global human asset," he said.

"You have created a pluralist society where minorities, generally speaking, are welcome," he continued. "They feel comfortable. They assimilate the Canadian psyche.

Aga Khan

Mr. John Godfrey (Don Valley West, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, to my friends in the Ismaili community I say Ya Ali Madad.

I ask the House to join me in extending a warm welcome to their leader, His Highness the Aga Khan. The Aga Khan succeeded his grandfather as Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili muslims in 1957. As a religious leader he has promoted a view of Islam as a faith that teaches compassion, tolerance and upholds human dignity.

I am sure that my colleagues in the House will join me in extending the best wishes to His Highness the Aga Khan. Ya Ali Madad.

insha'allaah, this fairly detailed, and i mean detailed and objective 3 part presentation will show that:

ISLAM, [a monotheistic faith of peace and submission to god], the religion of abraham [as] --  both according to the bible and the holy qur'an --   IS E_T_E_R_N_A_L --

as is  the holy and divine imamate -- priesthood.

jews, christians and muslims trace their roots to abraham. jews and christians view isaac, the son of sarah as the 'promised son' & offspring of abraham through whom the family line is continued.

whereas, muslims see ishmael, son of hagar, as the rightful heir who carries on the family tradition namely ISLAM, the religion of abraham [pbuth]:

to be a God unto thee,
and to thy _s_e_e_d_ after thee

Text Box:          Genesis 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy _s_e_e_d_ after thee in t_h_e_i_r_ -- [plural] -- generations for an e_v_e_r_l_a_s_t_i_n_g    c_o_v_e_n_a_n_t, to be a God unto thee, and to thy _s_e_e_d_ after thee.

----

the bible and the qur'an, have much in common, highlighting the close relationship that exists between the two lines of abraham's family.

by allah's infinite grace and mercy, one of the GREATEST biblical MYSTERIES of all times has just been solved herein -- with the aid of the old testament and the holy qur'an. see below.

            certain jewish and christian 'traditions'
              vis-à-vis misconceptions about:

               i.     ISHMAEL,
ii.    'isaac - the one and only, promised son,'
               iii.   the CHRIST -- MESSIAH,
iv.   and 'another paraclete -- comforter - advocate,' etc.,

have been redefined and/or _C_O_R_R_E_C_T_E_D_ with the help of the bible [the old and the new testaments] itself.

the so-called ' divine _t_r_i_n_i_t_y'_ --  which per se., had NO FOUNDATION OR AUTHORITY IN THE NEW TESTAMENT -- had been challenged _s_h_o_r_t_l_y_ after its innovation by JESUS and/or the early apostles & gospellers themselves.   in fact, jesus himself destroyed it completely. see below.

the vatican vis-à-vis the roman catholic church draws closer to islam.

the meaning of:  *'GOOD VERSUS EVIL' & 'the crusade'*  was clearly misconstrued by the president of the usa, its government and people, who were/ are either uninformed or misinformed about the true ETERNAL ISLAM [peace and submission], and most of its peaceful and peace loving people around the world.

every government, culture and tradition in the world including the american, jewish and christian, etc., have some bad apples, too.

they either [mis]use 'religion'  as a scapegoat or whatever means necessary to advance their primary political agenda or mandate. the truth and the real objective of their political mission and pursuits is always camouflaged.

see *'GOOD VERSUS EVIL' & 'the crusade'*.

and most importantly, there is    A CRITICAL PIECE OF EVIDENCE --  namely, the new testament, which per se.,  AUTHENTICATES - the gospel of barnabas & HQ: 4:157,158, both of which deny and reject the cruci_FICTion, death and resurrection of the christ jesus, son of mary [pbuth].

the old and the new testaments as well, some pre-islamic findings 'EXPOSE' the holy shroud of turin for what it is.

having said that, please note that among other things,     al-aliyyun -- THE MOST HIGH god of abraham, moses, aaron, david, jesus and muhammad [pbuth]; chose THE ETERNAL ISLAM AND THE HOLY AND DIVINE IMAMATE for mankind in general and the  3 main abrahamaic faiths  & nations in particular.

please review the following with some intelligence, if you will.

Text Box:               Genesis 14:18 And Melchizedek king of Salem  and he was the priest -- IMAM of the most high God -- el elyon. Genesis 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God -- el elyon, possessor of heaven and earth: Genesis 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God-- el elyon, the possessor of heaven and earth.

Psalms 110:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Psalms 110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.   [see also hebrews 7:1]

-----

It may be concluded that it was probably El whom the patriarchs, including Abraham, knew. He was thus to become El 'Olam (God the Everlasting One), El 'Elyon (God Most High), El Shaddai (God, the One of the Mountains), and El Ro'i (God of Vision). In short, the god of Abraham possessed duration, transcendence, power, and knowledge.
------

Text Box: 4        42:13. He hath ordained for you that religion which He commended unto Noah, and that which We inspire in thee (Muhammad), and that which We commended unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying: Establish the religion, and be not divided therein.

Dreadful for the idolaters is that--maa--he who -- unto which -- whom--ilayh -- thou callest them. Allah chooseth for Him--ilayhi -- whom He will, and guideth unto Him--ilayhi -- him who turneth.

-------

42:51.  innahu Aliyyun hakeemun--for He is Most High, Most Wise.

Text Box: 4        2:255. Allah! There is no deity save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. and he is  ALIYYUL azim [the most high great] - Allahu la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyoomu -- wa huwal ALIYYUL azim

4:34.   innallaaha kaana Aliyyan kabiiraa - surely Allah is ever High, Great.

-----

as can be seen from these scriptures only, El 'Elyon (God Most High) -- Aliyyun  himself was the first point of DIVINE CONTACT between judaism, christianity and THE CURRENT DISPENSATION OF ISLAM.

     ISLAM IN PRACTICE

abram/ham [pbuh] the father and founder of these 3 monotheistic faiths was born and raised in ur of the chaldees, mesopotamia --  located between the persian gulf and our modern day iraq.

he submitted to god's will at age 75 by leaving his father's land -- haran.

Text Box: Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram,
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred,
and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:
Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Genesis 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God -- YAHWEH, el-elyon, the possessor of heaven and Text Box: earth, , the possessor of heaven and earth,     Genesis 22:5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.      Genesis 24:48 And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham,     Genesis 24:52 And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.

------

in short, not only do they make up the 3 branches of the abrahamaic faith but also ISLAM [a monotheistic faith & submission to god], was there long before either judaism or christianity came into existence.

it must be noted, too that the true islamic-monotheistic faith of 'el-elyon'  -- was already flourishing then. and the real object of this revelation -- was to continue this holy faith in that seed for all times to come, as seen from that first point of the divine contact.

003.065 O People of the Scripture!
Why will ye argue about Abraham, Text Box: 4 when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him? Have ye then no sense? 003.067 Abraham was not a Jew, nor yet a Christian; but he was an upright man who had surrendered -- haaniifam muslimaa, and he was not of the idolaters.
----

allow me to explain this from another perspective as well.

THE 10TH KALKI AVATAR -- AAYAT-- REVELATION -- MANIFESTATION OF VISHNU

what does the above mean in our daily lives? well, for one, islam is a way of life and two, it is put into practice daily by one and all, regardless of his caste or creed.

for example in a court of law:

   Text Box:   "Although I am unborn and My transcendental body never deteriorates, and although I am the Lord of all living entities, I still appear in every millennium in My original transcendental form. Whenever there is decline in religious practice, O descendent of Bharata, and a predominant rise in irreligion- at that time I descend Myself. To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium." (Bhagavad Gita, Book IV, Sutra 6, 7,8)             when a hindu swears on the bhagavad gita or by VISHNU  [most high god], RAM OR KRISHNA [7th and 8th REVELATIONS OF VISHNU;

            he is swearing by the same EL-ELYON - [most high  god] that a jew/israelite and a christian swears by on his torah/bible;

he also swears by the same AL-ALIYYUN, ALIYYAN OR ALIYYUL -- allah  [most high god] -- that a muslim swears by  on his qur'an.

          he also swears by ALIYYUN AMEERUL MOMIINEEN ALIY-ULLAH - [an ayat --revelation & imam--the holy and divine priest] - [ali [the most high] -- the master of the believers is from allah, the most high] --  that a shia imami ismaili muslim swears by;

because according to our shia imami ismaili tariqah -- path or tradition of islam -- he is the prophesied 10th KALKI AVATAR OR REVELATION of VISHNU  or the HEAVENLY RIDER ON THE WHITE HORSE.

feel free to review my recent scripture based article viz., YA ALI MADAD on this matter.

hence, to treat all other names besides allah -- as his attributes and/or adjectives only -- is nothing short of a fallacy, deception and belying the holy qur'an as well, challenging allah himself.  this is same as violating the sanctity of his names against which, we have been warned.

hence, no matter what scripture ANYONE swears upon or reveres in a court of law, privately or publicly, at the end of the day, it is all one and the same thing.

that said, let us continue with the matter at hand.

THE REAL BIBLICAL FOUNDATION OF ALL THE RIVALRIES BETWEEN 'THY SEED AND HER SEED'

Text Box:         Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

--

important note:

to begin with, this 'CURSE' is the real biblical foundation of all the rivalries between 'thy seed and her seed.'

it is the source of all the deep-rooted prejudices between the two main branches of abraham.  as a matter of fact, the whole bible -- i.e., both the old and new testaments have been divided right along these lines, as will be seen herein.

in the process, as much information as possible about 'HER SEED' namely, 'HAGAR'S SEED' -- 'ISHMAEL' -- had been either suppressed or expunged from the bible.

mostly, only that which was negative or derogatory about ishmael and the ishmaelites had been retained, without doubt.

while at the same time, all the importance had been given to 'her seed' only when it came to jesus, son of mary. on the one hand, they say -- 'he was THE SON OF mary -- 'her seed.'  on the other,  he was 'david's son'  through joseph -- 'his seed.' and, he was also the 'son of god' -- the divine seed.

in spite of this INEXPLICABLE conglomeration, jesus could not have been  the son of god because he was fathered by the holy ghost only [luke 1:34,35].

and more importantly, god the father had NEVER DECLARED jesus as my 'begotten son,' as he had in the case of israel and david, etc.

luke says that elisabeth and mary were cousins and that the former was of the daughters of aaron [luke 1:5,36].

that being the case, jesus could not be a descendant of judah or david since neither was a descendant of aaron, the priest-imam.

furthermore,  judah and levi were brothers and not descendants of each other. hence, this nullifies any and all claims that jesus was the son of david through mary.

Genesis 35:23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

---

also jesus could not be the son of david either because there was /is irreconcilable differences between the matthean and the lucan genealogies. between the two of them some names, which do not appear in the old testament, have been concocted in the new testament. one of them shows as many as 14 generations extra. but most important of all, even adam was shown to be the son of god.

Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

----

jesus himself severed all ties with david:

Matthew 22:42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. Matthew 22:43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, Matthew 22:44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? Matthew 22:45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

----

despite this severance all kinds of incredible relationships have been imposed upon jesus.  in the like manner, only jesus was/is given all the importance as the said 'son of god' and not adam.

           Genesis 17:21 &

           Genesis 21:3 .

ONLY ISHMAEL WAS.

on the other hand, paul's ignorance and fallacy, outright bigotry and distortion of the earlier biblical account or prophecy should  not be construed as an excuse or license for the present day christians vis-à-vis the western governments, nations and news media, etc., to continue with their barrage of criticism and/or false and biased propaganda against islam [peace/ submission] and most of its peaceful and peace loving adherents worldwide.

god's word versus man's word

says paul:

Text Box:         "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace...." (1st Corinthians 14:33 King James Version Bible)

          Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his _ s_e_e_d_ were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one;

-----

so, here's a clear distinction -- a scriptural distinction at that --  between truth and falsehood. clearly between -- god's word and a man's personal opinion, which, for the most part -- had also been taken as 'the word of god' by a majority of the christians.

regardless, let us look at this stupendous covenant from a scriptural viewpoint only, in order to establish a common trend or rather, THE ETERNAL DIVINE TRUTH between the religions, the respective scriptures, practices and practitioners of the 3 major faiths of the world.

first of, let's set the record straight once and for all.

shortly after ishmael's birth [Genesis 16:11; Genesis 16:15 & Genesis 16:16], and long before isaac's birth -- the lord god of abram -- 86 years old then, not only made other covenants with him but he also changed his name to abraham. he made him a father of many nations and blessed them through him and his seed after him.

I [god] have 'blessed him' -- ishmael -- and I will make him a great nation -- 2--two divine promises -- made to hagar & abraham, respectively

---

ISHMAEL WAS THE ONLY 'TWICE BLESSED' SON FOR 13 YEARS --- Abraham took Ishmael 'his son'

----

Genesis 16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

----

Genesis 16:10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed -- [ishmael] -- exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. Genesis 21:13 And also of the son -- [ishmael] -- of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.

---

Genesis 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her [hagar], Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. Genesis 16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, Text Box: which Hagar bare, Ishmael. Genesis 16:16 And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. Genesis 17:23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, ... and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.      Genesis 21:18 Arise, lift up the lad [ishmael], and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him.

Text Box:      Genesis 17:25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. Genesis 17:26 In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

------

please note that this god of abraham did not seize to be THE GOD OF ISHMAEL at any in point in time. i have yet to find such a statement in the bible.

One God and Father of all

Malachi 2:10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?      Mark 12:32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:   Text Box: Romans 3:30 Seeing it is one God , which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.        Corinthians I 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things,     Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.     Timothy I 2:5 For there is one God,     Romans 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Romans 3:30 Seeing it is one God,

----

note the following again because the IRREVOCABLE covenant included abraham and his seed after him. this was  AN EVERLASTING COVENANT.

    THE TORAH:

AN EVERLASTING COVENANT

to be a God unto thee, and to thy _s_e_e_d_ after thee

-------

my covenant between me [god] and thee [abraham] and _t_h_y__s_e_e_d_ after thee in _t_h_e_i_r_ -- [plural] -- generations

----

however, 'thy seed after thee and _t_h_e_i_r_ _g_e_n_e_r_a_t_i_o_n_s_' were later made up of

   Isaac

Genesis 21:3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

----

   ishmael

Text Box: Genesis 21:13 And also of the [son ishmael 14 years old] of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy [abraham] s_e_e_d

-----

in thy seed shall all the nations

Text Box: Genesis 22:5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. Genesis 22:16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations [plural] of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

-----

who was this, the one and only son -- ' thy seed' -- in whom 'shall all the nations [plural] of the earth be blessed'?

well, according to the genesis text cited above ISHMAEL was abraham's only son for 13 years.

Genesis 16:3 And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife

Genesis 16:16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ish'mael to Abram.
Genesis 17:25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old

------

note: the bible recognized hagar as abraham's 'wife' and her son as abraham's son as well, declared him as 'thy seed.'

however, despite the bigotry surrounding and, lack of basic information on ishmael in the bible, insha'allaah, if allah will  we can and will prove that it was really he--ishmael, who was the one and only object of the sacrifice and not isaac.

frankly, we just need to pursue the whole biblical episode with some intellect, objectivity and honesty.

regardless, all nations were included in 'thy seed's blessings.'  meaning: these blessings were not confined to the house of isaac, Israel and/or judah only.

it must be noted, too that the true islamic-monotheistic faith of 'el-elyon'  -- was already flourishing then. and the real object of this revelation -- was to continue this holy faith in that seed for all times to come, as seen from that first point of the divine contact.

GOD, ABRAHAM,  HAGAR AND ISHMAEL

Genesis 13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

Text Box:     Genesis 14:22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have sworn to the LORD God Most High [Jehovah el-elyon], maker of heaven and earth.
Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Genesis 16:13 And she [hagar] called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

Genesis 21:11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son [ishmael]. Genesis 21:20 And God was with the lad [ishmael] ; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. Genesis 21:21 And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.

Genesis 21:33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.

----

see how closely these tragic events were linked together in this chapter -- Genesis 21:11;  21:13; 21:14; 21:20; 21:21 and 21:33.

and as such, it is my firm conviction that this name -- Beersheba -- may yet hold a key to the greatest mystery in the abrahamaic faith, which perhaps, had not been unraveled heretofore.

shukran-- i offer my deep and profound gratitude and prostration to the almighty allah and my holy  imam [sa].

    Beersheba

remember that both hagar and her son [ishmael] were sent into exile, if you will. this book says that they wandered in the wilderness of beersheba.

Genesis 21:13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a Text Box: nation, because he is thy seed. Genesis 21:14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

-----

where did abraham go thereafter?

Beersheba

Genesis 21:31 Wherefore he [abraham] called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.

Genesis 21:32 So they made a covenant at Beer-sheba.     Then Abim'elech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and _r_e_t_u_r_n_e_d_ to the land of the Philistines.

Genesis 21:33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.

Beersheba(?)

Genesis 21:34 And Abraham s_o_j_o_u_r_n_e_d in the Philistines' land many days.

-----

please note that Abim'elech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up [BEERSHEBA] and _r_e_t_u_r_n_e_d_  to the land of the _P_h_i_l_i_s_t_i_n_e_s.

in other words, beersheba and the land of philistines were two separate and distinct places. abraham stayed there for a bit. it was at this place -- the land of philistine, where god tested abraham:

let me retrace my steps a little:

WHY DID ABRAHAM NAME HIS SON -- 'ISHMAEL'? who asked him to?

Genesis 16:11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her [HAGAR], Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

-----

only god knew about hagar's pregnancy and the sex of the unborn child. he named him ishmael and also blessed him.

now, the question is why did abraham NAME HIS SON 'ISHMAEL', when only hagar should have done it, in accordance with the divine command?

Genesis 16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

----

some unanswered questions:

a.     was he also present with her when all this happened?
b.     did she tell him later?
c.     WHY did abraham banish hagar and ishmael after
accepting god's will and DIVINE plan re: his only SON, his seed then?

interesting enough, after all these happenings at beersheba [Genesis 21:33] or close by Genesis 21:34, abraham was tested by god.

please follow the trend of my thought and the scripture text cited below:

Beersheba

Genesis 21:33 And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.

Genesis 21:34 And Abraham s_o_j_o_u_r_n_e_d in the Philistines' land many days.

-----

so here we have some kind of closeness between abraham and his family  namely,  hagar and ishmael.

the bible also tries to establish a similar closeness or relationship between abraham and his other family -  sarah and isaac.

Beersheba(?)

Text Box:            Genesis 21:34 And Abraham s_o_j_o_u_r_n_e_d in the Philistines' land many days.

Genesis 22:1 After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." Genesis 22:2 He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Mori'ah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

-----

this episode raises an interesting question here. where was SARAH at this time? was she WITH ISAAC at beersheba or the land of the philistine as well? maybe she was. however, the book of genesis says no such thing.

meaning: both abraham and isaac were together at either BEERSHEBA and/or  in the land of the philistine at this time. -- ''And it came to pass after these things.''

now comes an intriguing part:

what happened to isaac??

abraham .....  and took.....'and Isaac his son'

Genesis 22:2 :  abraham was commanded to proceed to the land of Moriah  and there sacrifice his ONLY SON to the lord god.

Genesis 22:3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Genesis 22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; Genesis 22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son

----

so abraham proceeded with his son and two other young men to the place of sacrifice, as he was commanded. he fulfilled the commandment as follows:

Genesis 22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.  22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

-----

the lord god blessed abraham for his obedience.

Text Box:         Genesis 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the _n_a_t_i_o_n_s_ of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

----

thereafter abraham returned unto his young men.

reminder: although abraham began his journey from here.

Genesis 21:34 And Abraham s_o_j_o_u_r_n_e_d in the Philistines' land many days.

-----

he retuned to beersheba instead. and that's not all.

abraham returned without isaac

Beersheba

Genesis 22:19 So Abraham returned - [????, without isaac, navali] -  unto his young men,   and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

----

important observation -- this is a very CRUCIAL POINT.

we must commend these biblical editors who have been very meticulous on the whole. for the most part, they have had noted every INSIGNIFICANT or irrelevant detail in order to tilt the scales in favor of sarah, 'the princess' and isaac, 'the promised son.'  however, for some unknown reason when it comes to the nitty-gritty -- they seem to be awfully quite about it.

please note that there was no mention of isaac at this point.

therefore, are we to assume that abraham actually returned with his son? we could have assumed that the first time around as well. so, why was it over emphasized and dramatized in such a manner?

abraham ..... and took.....'and Isaac his son'

and laid it upon Isaac his son

and bound Isaac his son

-----

whatever is assumed here, the fact still remains and that is, abraham did NOT RETURN with isaac. period.  an intriguing episode unravels by itself --  as we progress with this investigation.

where were sarah and isaac after these events? the book of genesis is awfully quite on this matter as well.

however, it places sarah in a different location and age--time  altogether thus, creating a huge gap of some 35 years, if not more. remember sarah was 90 when she gave birth to isaac. he was only a lad, when abraham was commanded to sacrifice him.

Genesis 23:1 And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

-----

another important issue that is also left unanswered is, for how long were abraham, sarah and isaac SEPARATED from each other and why?

abraham was a hundred  years old when isaac was born. there had been very little activity between them at the time -- and practically NONE after the said sacrifice when abraham was commanded to offer his only son, his son isaac.

why the sudden silence? why the sudden mystery? why the sudden gap of some 35 years?

Abraham _c_a_m_e_

despite the above notation nothing much had changed because after hagar and her baby child or lad [ l_i_f_t_  _u_p  the  lad,  and  h_o_l_d_ _h_i_m  in  thine  h_a_n_d;]; were exiled, abraham himself moved to a south country in close vicinity like so:

please review minutely the biblical language and different terminologies used by its own editors.

it is clear from the aforesaid that there was more to this than what was implied or hidden by them. here's what i mean.

well, there we have it like it is. abraham was closer to hagar and ishmael at any given point in time than his other family. and although he had separated his two wives and their children from each other, HE DID NOT SEPARATE HIMSELF PERMANENTLY FROM HAGAR AND ISHMAEL.

now, one can't say the same thing about his relationship with sarah and isaac, both of whom were beneficiaries of the god's special, or if you will, divine promises.

question

WHY DID THE FAMILY BREAK-UP IN THIS MANNER?

WAS ABRAHAM FORCED TO CHOOSE BETWEEN HIS 2 FAMILIES?

            a.     how, when and why did this ever happen?
            b.     how come he was away from sarah, the princess and
her 'promised son' FOR SO LONG?

       c.     under the same taken, why was abraham so close to hagar
and the son of the handmaid?

after all is said and done, how close were hagar, ishmael and abraham to each other as a family unit and also from each other's dwellings, according to this biblical text only?

i submit therefore that at any given time abraham _D_W_E_L_L_E_D_ not too far from them. the chances are -- THEY MAY HAVE LIVED TOGETHER FOR THE MOST PART.

on the other hand, you must also remember that abraham was still married to sarah at this time.

and although abraham and sarah _s_o_j_o_u_r_n_e_d_ --
lived temporarily in Gerar,
she was almost physically removed from the immediate
picture OR THE LORD GOD'S DIVINE PLAN, as was isaac.
meaning: at some point before her death,
SARAH, ISAAC and abraham were INEVITABLY separated from each other.

more importantly, abraham c_a_m_e from some place else to morn for her and also made arrangements for her burying place, where he too was buried later.

    ABRAHAM -- SARAH -- GERAR

MEANING:

    the greatest mystery

abraham and sarah probably did NOT live together since abraham _s_e_t_t_l_e_d_ in beersheba  i.e., after hagar and her son were sent away.

ABRAHAM ... 'and sojourned in Gerar.'

hagar and ishmael wandered in the wilderness of beersheba, and perhaps, they were NEVER TOO FAR from abraham and vice versa.

they were always close to beersheba, shur and kadesh, the very places where abraham is said to have journeyed frequently and settled eventually.

sarah, on the other hand,  was never close to beersheba, shur or kadesh. she was not even close to the land of moriah, where abraham was commanded to offer his son as a burnt offering -- sacrifice to the lord god.

why did abraham leave behind the tiny tot, 'his one and only son,' 'the son of promise,'  'whom he loved' very much --  after the said event, is the greatest "unsolved" mystery and tragedy of all.

and more importantly, the book of genesis says nothing more about isaac after the said event.

however, it looked as though abraham may have settled in hebron, in the land of canaan only AFTER  sarah's death.

we do not hear again about isaac until  AFTER abraham  moved to gerar AFTER sarah's death and settled there.

although there is NO mention of isaac being present at sarah's funeral -- he suddenly appears after her death and only after abraham decided to have him married.

at the time isaac was 40 years old.

so the father and son were reunited at this place AFTER all this time -- i.e., some 30--35 years.

---------

in short, abraham was NEVER too far from hagar and ishmael. all of them were in and around BEERSHEBA, shur and kadesh at any given point in time.

here's the real irony of the whole matter. on the one hand, abraham was forced and pained to get rid of hagar and her son and on the other, he was  later  forced to sacrifice his only beloved son.

so after all is said and done, who was abraham's 'ONLY SON' that he was asked to offer as a sacrifice to the lord god and that he and only he was the chosen instrument in the god's divine plan for all mankind in whom -- all nations of the world were/would be blessed?

frankly, all the evidence cited thus far, points clearly and irrefutably to ISHMAEL ONLY.

003.065 O People of the Scripture! Why will ye argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed till after him ? Have ye then no sense ? 003.066 Lo! ye are those who argue about that whereof ye have some knowledge: Why then argue ye concerning that whereof ye have no knowledge ? Allah knoweth. Ye know not.

under the same token, we must note that:

a.     whilst the christ jesus, son of mary [pbuth] was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel;

Matthew 10:6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

b.     the holy prophet muhammad [sas] -- was a universal messenger and mercy unto the worlds.

eternal blessings conferred on ishmael, isaac and their seed & fulfillment in the holy prophet muhammad [sas]

37:113. AND OUR BLESSINGS ON HIM [ishmael] and on Isaac -- Wa baarakna alayhi wa alaa ishaqa -- And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.     4:170. O mankind! The messenger hath come unto you with the Truth from your Lord.     21:107. And We have not sent you but as a mercy to the worlds. Shakir's Quran Translation
----

but prior to the above blessings and  fulfillment of the divine promise, there was a two-fold mystery  not only involving abraham and isaac, as just seen but also involving abraham and ishmael [pbuth].

simply put, how do we know that abraham and ishmael were indeed together during all those years -- unaccounted for in the bible -- as asserted above?

well, let's see how the DIVINE FATE brought them together.

the HQ solves the     greatest biblical mystery of all times re: abraham & ishmael

interestingly enough, what the bible had failed to solve for all these millenniums past -- the holy qur'an had done so already about 1422 years ago.

here's what i mean:

2:125. And when We made the House (at Makka) a resort for mankind and sanctuary, Text Box: 4 (saying): Take as your place of worship the place where Abraham stood (to pray). And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and Ishmael, (saying): Purify My house for those who go around and those who meditate therein and those who bow down and prostrate themselves (in worship). 2:127. And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower.

----

the obvious question here is, when did abraham and ishmael come together to purify the house of god at baca [psalms 84:1-6 and HQ: 3:95-97], as well, build the foundation of the house, as above?

it must have happened as shown from the bible, after 'abraham SUBMITTED to god's command [islam] -- to sacrifice his one and only son at the land of moriah.

Text Box: 4 2.124: 2:124. And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam--PRIEST  -- to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams --PRIESTS) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." Yusuf Ali's Quran Translation

-----

C123. Kalimat: literally "words" here used in the mystic sense of God's Will or Decree or Purpose. This verse may be taken to be the sum of the verses following. In everything Abraham fulfilled God's wish: he purified God's house; he built the sacred refuge of the Kaba; he submitted his will to God's, and thus became the type of Islam. He was promised the leadership [IMAMATE --PRIESTHOOD, navali] of the world; he pleaded for his progeny, and his prayer was granted, with the limitation that if his progeny was false to God, God's promise did not reach the people who proved themselves false. Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

----

see how closely the holy qur'an has linked the father and son together as well. here's the qur'anic version of the events as it happened.

37:102. And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 37:103. Then, when they had both Text Box: 4 surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 37:104. We called unto him: O Abraham! 37:105. Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 37:106. Lo! that verily was a clear test. 37:107. Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 37:108. And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 37:109. Peace be unto Abraham! 37:112. And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 37:113. And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves.

37.102: C4099. At what stage in Abraham's history did this occur? See n. 2725 to xxi. 69. It was obviously after his arrival in the land of Cannan and after Ismail had grown up to years of discretion. Was it before or after the building of the Kaba (ii. 127)? There are no data on which this question can be answered. But we may suppose it was before that event, and that event may itself have been commemorative. Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

----

rest assured, even the bible lends more credence to this version of the events, as just seen.

anyway, after the said event abraham returned to beersheba without isaac.

hagar and ishmael lived not too far from there.

abraham did not return to sarah immediately, as seen above. and that's not all.

frankly, nothing significant had taken place between them for nearly 35 years, despite all the divine promises. he buried the 'princess' -- sarah and also married the 'promised' son -- isaac before giving up his own ghost.

on the other hand, according to the holy qur'an, kabah and the masjidil haraam were the two houses of allah at becca/baca/mecca. both abraham and ishmael [pbuth] were directly associated with them. meaning: they were associated with ISLAM in its pristine purity.

so regardless of what little information we have on ISHMAEL in the bible, one can see that only he in fact , was the more 'prominent son' of the two.

THE BIBLE

can we prove the same from the bible as well?

let us return to ishmael's episode with the above -- fairly detailed biblical account in mind.

according to the text of the old testament just cited not only was hagar -- abram's 'LEGAL WIFE' in every sense of the term -- but also her SON, ISHMAEL WAS ABRAM'S ONLY -- 'TWICE BLESSED SON' -- his own flesh and blood --  for a good period OF 13--thirteen years.

we must also take into account the fact that the above divine promises re: ishmael were made long before the birth of the 'promised son' namely, isaac.

I AM THY SHIELD,
AND THY
EXCEEDING REWARD

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear Text Box: not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 15:2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? Genesis 15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.  Genesis 15:4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but hE  that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

-----

THIS UNIQUE PASSAGE & PROMISE IS VERY INTERESTING INDEED.

how did abraham understand and interpret god's promise -- 'Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.'?

obviously no divine reward was worth anything to abraham because he was childless at the time and feared that he will be inherited by a steward.

that said, the lord god promised him only one seed at the time -- 'but hE  that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.'

this scripture also tells us that only ishmael was born in abraham's house after this great promise.  and that he was abraham's only son, his flesh and blood for 13 years. as seen, he was also referred to as 'thy seed.'

in the like manner,  --  the adjective -- ''EXCEEDINGLY" -- had only been used with respect to abraham's 'seed' and with ONLY ishmael -- not once but TWICE, like so:

ISHMAEL -- MULTIPLY HIM EXCEEDINGLY

Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a Text Box: vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Genesis 16:10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her [hagar], I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

---

and says the holy qur'an

37:100. My Lord! Vouchsafe me [abraham] of the righteous -- MINAS SAALIHIIN.  37:101. So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 37:113. And We blessed him - [ ISHMAEL] and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good,

---

this then, was the personification 'of the righteous -- MINAS SAALIHIIN.'  note the difference.

2:130. And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth himself? Verily We chose him in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous -- laminas saalihiin.
---

meaning: although abraham will be among the righteous in the hereafter, he was granted righteousness -- in the form of a son, who was ISHMAEL [pbuth], the subject and object of abraham's  love, faith and above all,  god's manifest test and trial, according to the holy qur'an, which the bible also corroborates.

great reward

017.009 Lo! this Qur'an guideth unto that which is straightest, and giveth tidings unto the believers who do good works that theirs will be a great reward--AJRAN KABIIRAA.

WA KULLA SHAY-IN AH-SAYNAAHU FII IMAAMIM MUBIIN -- AND EVERYTHING HAVE WE VESTED IN THE IMAM MANIFEST.

----

what more could one ask for when the lord god is your exceeding great reward? HE CONFERRED THIS REWARD ON THE HOUSE OF 'ISHMAEL' and through him -- to all mankind.

HENCE, IS IT NOT POSSIBLE -- JUST POSSIBLE -- EVEN IF REMOTELY THAT ONLY 'ISHMAEL' WAS OR COULD HAVE BEEN  THE  ONLY 'REAL SON AND OBJECT OF THE DIVINE PROMISE AND SACRIFICE' -- WHICH PER SE, ALSO CONSTITUTED TO THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE ETERNAL ISLAM?

well, let the bible speak for itself again.

two covenants

hence, any prophecies relating to and/or the divine covenants made between the lord god and abram and his _s_e_e_d_ after him -- applied fully and exclusively to ishmael and his _s_e_e_d_ and THEIR [plural] GENERATIONS after him, for that length of time.

Text Box:          Habakkuk 3:3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran [ISHMAEL]. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

----

please note that 'PARAN' had been an integral and intrinsic part of  the lord god's DIVINE PLAN from the very beginning. hence, ISHMAEL was part of that DIVINE PLAN as well, as we will see herein.

on the other hand, despite god's promise to bless him with a son by sarai -- both abraham and sarai/h laughed at the lord god and/or the angel of god for making such an incredible promise because, not only was she barren for all those years but also both felt that they were old and that she had passed the child-bearing years and hence, their awkward or negative reactions to the divine promise.

      it is further stated in the bible that some of the israelite kings including judah, david and solomon ;
      had committed flagrant acts of incest, adultery & fornication ;
      with own family members and NON-ISRAELITE women including handmaids and prostitutes ;
in order to perpetuate their failing pedigree.
      solomon was also accused of committing idolatry ;
to please his 1000 -- mostly NON-ISRAELITE wives.

a quick review of jesus'  checkered pedigree should reveal these irrefutable facts as well.

although, paul and others were/are very quick to point out that:

ISHMAEL
the son of the bondwoman
was born after the flesh

Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. Galatians 4:23 But he who was of theText Box: bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

-------

what they always FAIL to mention or explain to their misinformed or uninformed audiences is that the said 'DIVINE promise' was _n_e_v_e_r_ fulfilled  -- as it should have been, in the truest technical sense of the word.

however, what they also fail to see or show is:

  the servant of sin

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  John 8:33Text Box: They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

---

therefore, does it really matter whether one was born free or bonded?  they needed jesus to set them free, regardless.

in view of this fact alone, how did those kings of Israel benefit from the 'divine promise' when they had to resort to deception, lustful and evil means and deeds both within and outside its community to perpetuate its flagging pedigree.

      the servant of sin

and that being the case, how PURE AND PERFECT was jesus' bloodline according to the matthean text [cited below--adulterated genealogy]?

as you know, it was fully corrupt and impure at best. and that's not all.

most people may not realize the importance of this purity. however, it is directly connected to their salvation.

in other words, how will jesus save himself, his followers, the christians of all ages past, present and future as well,  the non-christian population in the world today or, even several centuries down the road with such an adulterated bloodline?

remember, he is said to be the expected 'world--messiah--savior'  -- 'paraclete--advocate' and the  intercessor with god in heaven.

John I 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate-- paraclete --  with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

SANCTIFY YOURSELVES, AND YE SHALL BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY

Text Box:        Leviticus  11:44  For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore SANCTIFY YOURSELVES, AND YE SHALL BE HOLY; FOR I AM HOLY: neither shall ye defile yourselves ... Leviticus 11:45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: YE SHALL THEREFORE BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.

-------

kindly read and review the above very minutely. the lord god shows therein what is the meaning of sanctity. stated simply: it means to be holy -- like the lord god himself. he is holy. nothing short of this will be acceptable to him.

now did jesus ever become holy and/or sanctify his followers and make them holy -- precisely as bidden here above? well, let the new testament speak for itself.

the 'christ -- messiah -- anointed' -- ?ed

jesus' mission

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

John 15:3 Now ye are CLEAN through the word which I have spoken unto you.

----

to this jesus adds the following prayer:

Text Box:       John 17:17 _S_a_n_c_t_i_f_y_ them through thy truth: thy word is truth.17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also MIGHT BE sanctified through the truth  . John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

---

please bear the above in mind as this is very important.  jesus says:

'Now ye are clean through the word.'

despite the obvious meaning implied here:

i.     the apostles were NOT SANCTIFIED -- as in being 'holy or pure,' etc;
ii.     jesus' offered additional prayer to god DIRECTLY  for their purification.
iii.    in other words, he himself could not sanctify them -- only god could.

jesus' claim and prayer:

      _S_a_n_c_t_i_f_y_ them ;

     I sanctify myself;

that they also _M_I_G_H_T_ BE _S_a_n_c_t_i_f_i_e_d_

-----

meaning: precisely what it says  ----- 'M_I_G_H_T_ BE' in jesus' own words.

that is, although jesus could 'clean' one  through the word of god -- NEITHER THE WORD NOR HE, JESUS COULD SANCTIFY and make him HOLY, as required by the lord god.  only god could do it.

      and despite the fact that jesus was fathered by the holy ghost, and was said to be 'holy' -- and the son of the most high;

he was baptized by john the baptist only 3 years before he started his mission at age 30.

and in spite of his pre-birth 'holiness' and the said 'baptism' -- he still 'sanctified himself.'

but this sanctity availed him not -- since he was crucified and killed in an unholy place -- used as latrine [Leviticus 13:46; Numbers 5:3 Deuteronomy 23:10--14 & hebrews 13:11-13], from where god turned away his face and walked not in an unholy place.

therefore, there was absolutely NO SALVATION for his people.

paul's mission -- 'that FORM of doctrine d_e_l_i_v_e_r_e_d you'

iv.    and as for paul, well, his claim was greater than that of jesus.
v.     what jesus FAILED TO DO during his lifetime and mission on earth,
--     paul simply proclaimed it!

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost and with power: Corinthians II 1:21
Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ,
and hath
anointed us, is God;

----

Text Box: Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were  THE SERVANTS OF SIN
but ye have obeyed from the heart
that FORM OF DOCTRINE which
was D_E_L_I_V_E_R_E_D you.

--

believe me the above claim was very short-lived because jesus contradicted paul's claim as follows:

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him,

for thou _o_n_l_y_ art holy

Text Box: Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou _o_n_l_y_ art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest

-----

in all fairness, how could any believing christian challenge the above?

that said, how much more could or should you TRUST PAUL'S bombastic claims;

1.     who was not only the persecutor of the nazarenes;
2.     but he also attributed his 'personal mission' to jesus;
2.     through either 1 or 3 whimsical, contradictory and irreconcilable visions of him, on the road to damascus, syria.   see and compare acts 9;  acts 22   and acts 26.

please take the following into account, if you will. paul sets and judges both jesus and himself by his own fanciful criterion.

Corinthians I 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed:

---

despite the proclamation just cited we have the following irrefutable facts which run to contrary of the same:

1      according to PAUL -- jesus was crucified in an unholy place.  see below.

according to PAUL -- he died in an unholy place, from which the lord god had turned away.  see below.

according to PAUL --  jesus was sent in the likeness of sinful flesh.

Romans 8:3 God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh.

----

our christian brothers contend that 'he was sent in the likeness of ...' and therefore, jesus was not sinful. is that so?

the book of genesis says, 'MAN was created in the IMAGE OF GOD' as was jesus. so under the same token, neither was or could have been god or the sons' of god, pure and simple. let's apply the same criteria here as well.

is christianity a faith of convenience and not conviction?

Romans 8:3  God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh,

----

so, jesus was either sinful and cursed or he was not. whatever the case, paul's arguments do not hold any water, as just seen. it is a double standard. it is a faith of convenience and not conviction.

according to PAUL --  jesus was a 'CURSE.'

Text Box:      Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?  Galatians 3:13 Christ  .....  being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Galatians 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin ? God forbid.

    Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

----

what did it mean in paul's  language after all this denigration of jesus?

Text Box:       Romans 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:       Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection;

---

there we have it like it is. in his own plain words, paul followed christ's teachings for some time only to suit his own purpose and then he moved on with his reformation or paganization of the faith found by him namely, the 'pauline' christianity.

however, what was the result of jesus' prayer or own sanctity [John 17:17]?

2      Text Box: Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried
with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?
that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

-----

can you imagine this? how much more could or should one rely on a such a faith for his own salvation when jesus christ was failed and forsaken so badly?

did they -- his 'cleaned' apostles 'believe on me  [John 17:20]??

let the new testament speak for itself:

3      Matthew 26:56 that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

4      Text Box: Luke 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot,
being of the number of the twelve.
Mark 3:19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him:
John 6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

5      John 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him
Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter
Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me:
John 18:25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself.
They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples?
He denied it, and said, I am not.
----

it is said that jesus 'cleansed' those disciples through the truth and the word of god.
    1.     now, how did these disciples benefit from the said cleansing?
    2.     then, what about all the christians, who have believed him in throughout the millenniums past -- and as yet, don't even know his proper name and/or what he preached and practiced himself?

rest assured, their faith in him is a sheer matter of  'blind faith' and nothing more. it is said, 'faith power works wonders.'

and wonders it has worked in their case.

S_a_n_c_t_i_f_y them through thy truth: thy word is truth

take a deep breath and kindly follow this section with some intelligence, upon which  is based this presentation. if you disagree then simply quote the bible only to refute the same.

please note that if one goes by these [matthew and luke genealogies] then the concept of 'christ--messiah-- anointed' etc., loses it total significance, which was based on -- the 'DIVINE PURITY' ONLY.

s_a_n_c_t_i_f_y yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy

Text Box: Leviticus  11:44  For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves ... Leviticus 11:45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

-------

rest assured, this is very important in islam as well.

allah says in the holy qur'an that he is 'HOLY' 62:1; 59:23 -- as is the holy spirit.

allah also purified the holy 'ahl-al baiyt' -- the holy prophet's family members [pbuth] namely, the holy prophet, his daughter--fatima, son-in law, hzt. mowlana ali  and his 2 grandsons - hzt. hassan and hzt. mowlana hussein [pbuth].

this divine purity was further extended to the rightful holy imams of this ahl al-baiyt [pbuth].

allah had not only conferred the said purity upon the holy ahl- al-baiyt [pbuth] but also it has the right to purify the faithful muslims who follow it, as bidden in the holy qur'an. see HQ: 2:129,151, 3:164, 9:103-105,108 and 62:1-5, etc.

the above does not mean --  that this -- 'pure, purified and purifier'  -- holy imam [as] is similar to the 'saved-savior christ'  [see below] of the biblical era or the 'saved-savior imam'  vis-à-vis the 3rd ranked fallen angel of the pleroma hierarchy -- as misconstrued by the late henry corbin in his book, 'the cyclical times and ismaili gnosis. 'isbn 0-7103-0047-6 & isbn 0-7103-0048-4 [pbk].

rather, this rightful holy and divine imam [sa] -- the purifier [9:105-108] -- derives his purity directly from allah, which he had bestowed upon the 'ahl al-baiyt' for all eternity @ 11:73; 33:33,34;  etc.

the holy and divine 'purity' is the essence of islam. see 2:129,150; 3:164; 57:1-4; 59:22-24 & 62:1-5, etc.

above all, allah had also bestowed 'his blessedness--baraakathuu' -- on this holy 'ahl al-baiyt'  -- as per the above verses. see also 11:73; 37:100-114; 19:31; 25:1, 54-63,74-77.

the _d_i_v_i_n_e_l_y_ 'purified & blessed houses' of abraham [as] & the prophet and messenger of allah [sas]

Text Box: 4       19:31. And hath made me [jesus] blessed -- mubaarakan -- wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive,       33:33.  Allah's wish is but to remove uncleanness far from you, O Folk of the Household, and cleanse you with a thorough cleansing 33:34. And bear in mind that which is recited in your houses of the revelations of Allah and wisdom. Lo! Allah is Subtile, Aware.

and this being the case, the 'PURE AND PURIFIED' IMAM OR THE _C_H_R_I_S_T_ OF THE TIME --  IN ISLAMIC CONTEXT ONLY -- is _N_O_T_ the 'saved-savior christ' of the biblical era, context and connotation. this irrefutable fact may be further discerned from the old testament itself:

Exodus 29:29 The holy garments of Aaron shall be for his sons Text Box: after him, that in them they may be anointed and ordained. Exodus 40:15 and you shall anoint them even as you have anointed their father, that they may minister as priests--imams --  to Me;    Exodus 30:30 You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and  SANCTIFY them, that they may minister as priests--imams -- to Me.    Leviticus 8:12 and he poureth of the anointing oil on the head of Aaron, and anointeth him to sanctify him.

the holy imam [sa]

     Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.  Hebrews 7:26 For such an high priest -- imam --  became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
