    References and continuity:

Stark: "They're just going to have a look, an examination."
Crichton: "Make sure he puts the KY on the gloves."

KY is a jelly used as a lubricant to erm, aid inspections from certain rear end inspections. Obviously Stark is talking about Crichton's head though.

Grunchlk: "Splendid news for the patient - I think I've found a biological match."
Crichton: "Wha? You found a human?"
Grunchlk: "Well, its called an Interon. Its bipedal, central spine, organs internal, single heart circulation, and a small head. I've got three specimens, its the best I can do."

Interon eh? Related to humans? Possibly. To meet an Interon, jump forwards to season 3's Suns And Lovers.

Scorpius: "Hello Doctor! So good to see you again."
    Tocot: "(Enquires in native tongue)."
Scorpius: "Oh no, quite the contrary really. My cooling apparatus is just as functional as the day you installed it. Eternal thanks! Oh I am so sorry to disturb the sterility of your theatre, but you no longer serve a purpose (removes Tocot's mask). What irony - the sensitivity to heal anything but oneself."

The truth about Scorpius's cooling rods is revealed. The doctor who helped him survive his heat problem was in fact Tocot. An interesting little circle, but understandable as this diagnosan seems to be the best at what he does.

Crais: "Yes Talyn, I too would have liked to have shown Aeryn what we learned from this chip. I think it would have made her the happiest soul among us."

Ooh, what could it be? Well, if you're desperate to find out, take a look ahead into season 3, at the episode Thanks For Sharing.

    • Rygel trades stones for a trip away from Moya, and possibly back to his homeworld. He has aquired a large number of crystals of various types playing a game called Tadec over the years.
    Funny or interesting quotes:

    Chiana: "Pilot. You're high, okay?"
Pilot: "I am no higher than I have ever been. My position is fixed."

The drugs being pumped into Moya are affecting Pilot a lot, so when Chiana learns of the farm idea for Jothee and D'Argo, Pilot gives Chiana a look at the recordings D'Argo had made in practice for proposing to Chiana, and asking her to settle down with D'Argo and Jothee.

Harvey: "You really would shoot your friend down, wouldn't you!"
    Aeryn: "You know the answer."
Harvey: "Well then. I shall comply. Lowering landing gear."
Crais: "Officer Sun, trust nothing!" Harvey: "Oh hust Crais, she doesn't need you to tell her that. Descending now. (Crash) Terribly sorry! Didn't see you there!"

Aeryn may have been the superior pilot, but Harvey's dirty tactics bring about a nasty end to the battle.

Crichton: "Baby, you're not gonna die like this, you are *not* gonna die like this."
Aeryn: "I hope you meant what you said back in the neural cluster... I did."
    Crew collectively: "Noooooo!"
    Aeryn: "Crichton! Cricht-"
Crichton: "Oh God... What have I done...?"

A very powerful, emotional moment. Crichton's face as Aeryn sinks into the water says it all, superb acting!

Tocot: "Very hard - speech very close to neural implant."
Crichton: "You're going to take away my memories and I'm going to talk gibberish? Why don't you just take my mojo while you're at it?"
Tocot: "Remove chip. Then attempt replace. You normal."
Crichton: "What the hell. There's no one I really want to talk to. Not much worth remembering. Take the damn thing out."

The procedure to remove the chip becomes that little bit more difficult, but Crichton having lost Aeryn doesn't have much to stick around for.

    Tocot

Scorpius: "So much to say, and yet so little capacity. I only hope the wormhole knowledge I've waited so patiently for makes more sense."
    Crichton: "(Angry gibberish)"
Scorpius: "Don't need a translator microbe for that one do we! You've cost me much, and I don't suffer disappointment well. I condemn you John Crichton... to live, so that your thirst for unfulfilled revenge will consume you."

The end of the line for the chip, Scorpius wins, and as he said in Plan B, it was never in doubt.

    New Aliens:

Diagnosan A tall species, perhaps a weaker, more peaceful relative of the Scarrens, the being we meet, Tocot, is a diagnosan and has a disease that forces him to wear a mask to prevent him inhaling various bacteria. He does however possess great healing abilities, though he needs Grunchlk to communicate for him, presumably because he would be allergic to translator microbes as well.
    Diagnosan

Grunchlk A very human like species, Grunchlk is a tough guy with the strength to easily lift Stark completely off the ground. Whilst perhaps not amazingly intelligent, he does however have impressive skills when it comes to negotiations, and this is probably what keeps him allied with Tocot.

    Farewell to:

Aeryn Shot down by the one person she loves. Crichton, but under the total control of the Scorpius clone. She was forced to eject from her Prowler, but a strap was stuck after the collision with Crichton's module, and she was stuck in her seat as she descended over ice. She drowned upon landing, the saddest loss so far in the Farscape series.
    Aeryn

    Guest Stars:

    • Hugh Keays-Byrne as Grunchlk.
    • Thomas Holesgrove as Tocot.
    • Matt Newton as Jothee.
    • David Franklin as Braca.

    Personal Opinion:

Wha...? Bu... Whe...? Ahhhhh! This is pure Farscape, and David Kemper at his absolute best. The most amazing cliffhanger ever - Crichton's head spilled across a table with nobody left to pick up the pieces, Scorpius with access to all of Crichton's wormhole knowledge having retrieved the neural chip, and Aeryn, Aeryn is gone. How we ever survived the massive gap between 2.22 and 3.01 I will never know. It was torture!

I almost gave this a 9 because it was a little slow in the middle whilst Zhaan was involved and also because of some overly exaggerated screams from Rygel and co as Aeryn made her forced descent, but I think it deserves the 10 simply because it had such a massive impact. Claudia Black and Ben Browder did such an amazing job in this episode, and I'm sure most people who have followed the series might admit to tears forming in what is probably one of the most powerful Farscape moments of the entire series.

Totally lost for words... (other than those above)10/10
