Jothee is the son of the Luxan D'Argo, and of a sebacean mother. He was taken into hiding when his father was wrongly accused of murdering his wife (see Mental As Anything), and Jothee ended up as a slave. During his time there, he was angry at his past, and his heritage, which led to him deforming some of his features, in particular those that showed he had Luxan origins. D'Argo doesn't see Jothee for many cycles, until Jothee is spotted by Stark as part of a slave shipment being sold at an auction. In the episode A Not So Simple Plan, Stark and D'Argo begins preparations to get Jothee back.

Despite a successful bank robbery to get funds to buy Jothee back from the slave traders, Scorpius beats them to it, and holds Jothee hostage, demanding that Crichton hand himself over in exchange for D'Argo's son. Without the knowledge of the rest of the crew aboard Moya, John does so, and D'Argo and Jothee are reunited. Things don't turn out to be the happy reunion that D'Argo pictured however, as Jothee still has doubts about his father, and is certainly relucatant to help out with the crew's problems. He is eventually pursuaded to lend a hand, but feels no guilt at the loss of Crichton in exchange for his life. Though Crichton is retrieved, and the crew reunited, things get worse thanks to Chiana.

The beautiful young Nebari had been together with D'Argo for some time now, and had stumbled across a recording D'Argo had made whilst practising to propose marriage. Realising how serious D'Argo was getting, and what his intentions were - to settle down with her and Jothee, she panics, and does something stupid. She lures Jothee in, and sleeps with him, taking some care, but not enough to avoid getting caught by D'Argo. This ends their relationship, and the hopes of creating a happy family. Though the story isn't over for Chiana and D'Argo, this is the end for Jothee, who leaves, not knowing if he will ever see his father again.
