Ka D'Argo is a Luxan warrior, a species renowned for strength, bravery and honour, but sadly not for diplomacy and patience. However, D'Argo is an exception, possessing a much more rounded set of skills. Though he may have lived up to his reputation a little during Season 1, he swiftly developed into a kind and caring being, with impressive patience. After escaping prison with Zhaan and Rygel, his time has been spent with all the crew of Moya, his friends.

Whilst his best relationships appear to be with fellow warrior Aeryn Sun and earthling John Crichton he soon develops a much closer bond with Chiana, the two entering into a proper relationship. This sadly did not last, thanks to one of D'Argo's other goals being achieved, he finally got to see his son again. His son, Jothee was used by Chiana, the two sleeping together in order to break up D'Argo and Chiana's relationship. The young Nebari was clearly afraid of the kind of commitment D'Argo seemed to aim for.

D'Argo's wife was a sebacean, and things soon went wrong here. D'Argo was a master at controlling his Luxan hyper rage, and would never hurt his wife (as proved in Mental As Anything), but Lo'laan was murdered, by her brother, Macton, and D'Argo was blamed for the crime. As a result, D'Argo was sent to prison, until his escape in Premiere, and Jothee was sent away and ended up a slave, before his rescue in A Not So Simple Plan.

With D'Argo's past issues resolved, the honourable Luxan is able to look to the future, which is why it is such a shame things didn't work out with Chiana straight away. However, two other important things happen to him during the later seasons. In the episode Revenging Angel D'Argo masters the controls to the Luxan ship he found, and from then on has his own highly powered, well-armed starfighter. He is also voted in as Captain aboard Moya after Pilot requests that a single captain be elected, in Season 4.

At the end of Season 4, after taking part in the insane plan to infiltrate the Scarren base at Katratzi, Chiana and D'Argo finally get back together, making D'Argo complete once more. If any character has a happy ending in the season, its D'Argo. He may be away from his son, but looking at D'Argo and Chiana together, you'd have to say he was the happiest guy around.
