Artifact One for Standard IV:  Brochure Rubric

This artifact was created as a classroom resource for my 6th grade Social Studies class and meets the requirements for TF- IV.A.  In this project, students were asked to create a travel brochure for the ancient city of Babylon.  After reading a short skit in class, the students were responsible for sifting through the script to find key points that should be included in their brochure.  They then used Microsoft Publisher to create their brochure.  Included you will find the lesson plan and rubrics for the project created on our school E-portfolio program and one of the brochures that one of my students created.

Artifact Two for Standard IV:
Thematic Lesson & Rubric

This artifact was selected because it specifically addresses TF - IV.C.  For one of my courses, I was asked to create a thematic health unit.  I have selected the portion of the thematic lesson that requires students to research various things about drugs and alcohol.  The students were then asked to create a Power Point Presentation and present their findings to the entire class.  Also included is the rubric that I created to assess their presentations.  I feel that this lesson best embodies Standard IV because the assessment component created not only focuses on the content of the presentation, but also assesses the technology usage.
