Artifact One for Standard V:  Math & Science Internet

This artifact is a webliography of useful sites that can be utilized by teachers, parents, and students to find various websites in the content areas of math and science.  These artifacts specifically address standard TF-V.C-6.  These items were placed in this portfolio because it required the candidate to evaluate several web sites in the field of Math and Science and determine whether or not they are appropriate enough to be incorporated into the classroom.  Once that was determined, I wrote a brief description of each web site and explained what one would have to gain by visiting it.  These artifacts are an excellent way to share various websites with other teachers and parents as they look for appropriate sites for the there students/children.

Artifact Two for Standard V:
Ancient Egypt Rubric Created on Rubistar

This Ancient Egypt rubric satisfies the requirements of standard TF-V.D-2.  I created this rubric using the website,  Rubistar 4 Teachers.  This program allows educators to create assessment tools based on the criterion inputed by the teacher.  Once your assessment tool is created, you have the opportunity to submit your rubric to the Rubistar database where it can be accessed by teachers all over the world.  This database acts a means of communication amongst peers as teachers can search the numerous assessment tools submitted by other teachers and get ideas that can be used in the classroom.  Since I have began using this website, I have recommended Rubistar to many of my collegeagues who immediately found it useful and beneficial.  My peers and I now email one another to inform each other about the rubrics we have created in case anyone else would like to utilize the rubric in their lessons.
