YA ALI MADAD

   'the supposed historical resurrection'
versus
'so well authenticated by evidence'

His Royal Highness Prince Aga Khan III

         Reincarnation or Companionship on High?

An article by Imam Hazrat Mowlana Sultan Mahomed Shah (s.a.s.)

Source: Africa Ismaili Kisumu Supplement, March 28, 1969

The Christian burial ceremony and the prayers then said by the presiding ecclesiastics refer to resurrection in a way that implies some kind of similarity with

THE SUPPOSED HISTORICAL  RESURRECTION OF CHRIST THREE DAYS AFTER HIS DEATH.

There is the undoubted implication in the Burial Service that a similar resurrection will in time be the fate of those who die in Christianity.

Just as the events of Easter Week become part of Christianity and the hope of men, so the death-bed scene of our Holy Prophet, so well authenticated by evidence, took place in the presence of his two cousins, Ali and Ibn-Abbas, his wives, and above all, his future great successor, the Caliph Omar, then one of his leading companions. All this evidence is exactly the same.

The last words of the Prophet were "Companionship on High."

The Aga Khan: "I am amazed by the ignorance of Islam"

PARIS - He is one of the spiritual leaders of Islam who best knows the land and the people of Central Asia, the area which holds the world in suspense. He is the Imam, the religious leader and guide of the Ishamilite, whose communities are spread in various countries of Asia and Africa, but also in Europe and in North America. Throughout Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and West China, there are more than five million Ishmaelite. ......

"I think that monotheistic religions, having an analogous belief in an only God, should and must dialogue. The three religions which Abraham inspired have many more common facets than those which divide them.

Religion must be a means by which to affirm the ethical significance of existence, irrelevant of one's faith. If we want social development, to meet halfway, to dialogue, peace, we cannot neglect ethics and the impact which education and culture have on social growth."

[emphasis added, navali]

Islam is for muslims *al--Haqq — the Truth*

the holy qur'an on the so-called 'crucifixion' of jesus christ.

Wa Qawlihim 'Innā Qatalnā Al-Masīĥa `Īsaá Abna Maryama Rasūla Allāhi Wa Mā Qatalūhu Wa Mā Şalabūhu Wa Lakin Shubbiha Lahum Wa 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Akhtalafū Fīhi Lafī Shakkin Minhu Mā Lahum Bihi Min `Ilmin 'Illā Attibā`a Až-Žanni Wa Mā Qatalūhu Yaqīnāan (4:157).

And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain.

Bal Rafa`ahu Allāhu ' Ilayhi Wa Kāna Allāhu `Azīzāan Ĥakīmāan (4:158).

But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.

rest assured, an intelligent and honest study and review of the bible and the holy qur'an will show that my holy imam-kohen-spiritual guide viz., the aga khan's [as] following words contain a lot of truth in them - both from an exoteric and esoteric viewpoints. often times, they transcend the biblical and islamic history respectively, as generally understood by both the expert historian and a novice student.

aga khan:  "I think that monotheistic religions, having an analogous belief in an only God, should and must dialogue. The three religions which Abraham inspired have many more common facets than those which divide them.

but for the purpose at hand, suffice it to say that although most orthodox christians and muslims deny and reject - the 'ESOTERIC' aspect of their respective faiths, the same resonate on it. it is one of the fundamental pillars of the abrahamaic faith, the bible and  the holy qur'an, etc.

it is said that every 'true aspect' of the being, history, life and the mission of - Al-Masīĥu `Īsaá Abnu Maryama, the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary [pbuth]; was/is associated with the foundation and the faith of islam per se.

Yā 'Ahla Al-Kitābi Lā Taghlū Fī Dīnikum Wa Lā Taqūlū `Alaá Allāhi 'Illā Al-Ĥaqqa 'Innamā Al-Masīĥu `Īsaá Abnu Maryama Rasūlu Allāhi Wa Kalimatuhu 'Alqāhā 'Ilaá Maryama Wa Rūĥun Minhu Fa'āminū Billāhi Wa Rusulihi Wa Lā Taqūlū Thalāthatun Antahū Khayrāan Lakum 'Innamā Allāhu 'Ilahun Wāĥidun Subĥānahu 'An Yakūna Lahu Waladun Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Kafaá Billāhi Wa Kīlāan (4:171).

O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is  God ONE, the HOLY. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.

Wa Lammā Đuriba Abnu Maryama Mathalāan 'Idhā Qawmuka Minhu Yaşiddūna (43:57).

And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out,

Wa 'Innahu La`ilmun Lilssā`ati Falā Tamtarunna Bihā Wa Āttabi`ūnī Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun (43:61).

And lo! verily HE IS THAT knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path.

in other words, the christ jesus, son of mary [pbuth], represented the SPIRITUAL aspect of islam. 'and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him.'

in addition to the above, allah had revealed the truth and reality of the 'noor-light' in islam.  the holy prophet muhammad [sas], his holy ahl al-baiyt - household and the true holy imams [pbuth] are 2 strands of the DIVINE LIGHT OF ALLAH -- 'noorun alaa noor - the light upon light' - 24:35; 4:175,176; 7:157,158; 5:15,16, etc.

Wa Ā`taşimū Biĥabli Allāhi Jamī`āan Wa Lā Tafarraqū Wa Ādhkurū Ni`mata Allāhi `Alaykum 'Idh Kuntum 'A`dā'an Fa'allafa Bayna Qulūbikum Fa'aşbaĥtum Bini`matihi 'Ikhwānāan Wa Kuntum `Alaá Shafā Ĥufratin Mina An-Nāri Fa'anqadhakum Minhā Kadhālika Yubayyinu Allāhu Lakum 'Āyātihi La`allakum Tahtadūna (3:103).

And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allah, and do not separate. And remember Allah's favour unto you: How ye were enemies and He made friendship between your hearts so that ye became as brothers by His grace; and (how) ye were upon the brink of an abyss of fire, and He did save you from it. Thus Allah maketh clear His revelations unto you, that haply ye may be guided,

Wa Ltakun Minkum 'Ummatun Yad`ūna 'Ilaá Al-Khayri Wa Ya'murūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Yanhawna `An Al-Munkari Wa 'Ūlā'ika Hum Al-Mufliĥūna (3:104).

And there may spring from you a nation who invite to goodness, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency. Such are they who are successful.

Wa Lā Takūnū Kālladhīna Tafarraqū Wa Ākhtalafū Min Ba`di Mā Jā'ahum Al-Bayyinātu Wa 'Ūlā'ika Lahum `Adhābun `Ažīmun (3:105).

And be ye not as those who separated and disputed after the manifest proofs had come unto them. For such there is an awful doom,

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:113 & 10:35]

The word ummat has been used in all these senses in the verses of the Quran. In verses 104 and 113 of Ali Imran and verses 128 and 143 of al Baqarah the context shows that ummat stands for an imam, who exercises authority, not for mamun. He who holds fast to the rope of Allah (adheres to His book, His prophet and his Ahl ul Bayt). Those who hold fast to the rope of Allah (the thoroughly purified Ahl ul Bayt) make a correct judgment and follow the right path (see commentary of Ali Imran: 103).

( 15) The two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) relate on the authority of Sad bin Abi Waqqas that the Holy Prophet left Ali bin Abi Talib behind him as his vicegerent during the expedition to Tabuk, and Ali said: "O Prophet of Allah, do you leave me behind, among the women and children?" He replied: "Are you not content to be to me in the relation of Harun to Musa save that there shall be no prophet after me?"

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Qad Jā'akum Burhānun Min Rabbikum Wa 'Anzalnā 'Ilaykum Nūrāan Mubīnāan (4:174).

O mankind! Now hath a proof from your Lord come unto you, and We have sent down unto you THE LIGHT MANIFEST;

Fa'ammā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Billāhi Wa Ā`taşamū Bihi Fasayudkhiluhum Fī Raĥmatin Minhu Wa Fađlin Wa Yahdīhim 'Ilayhi Şirāţāan Mustaqīmāan (4:175).

As for those who believe in Allah, and hold fast unto Him, them He will cause to enter into His mercy and grace, and will guide them unto Him by a straight road.

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nabīyu 'Innā 'Arsalnāka Shāhidāan Wa Mubashshirāan Wa Nadhīrāan (33:45).

O Prophet! Lo! We have sent thee as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner.

Wa Dā`īāan 'Ilaá Allāhi Bi'idhnihi Wa Sirājāan Munīrāan (33:46).

And as a summoner unto Allah by His permission, and lamp that giveth light.

Fa'āminū Billāhi Wa Rasūlihi Wa An-Nūr Al-Ladhī 'Anzalnā Wa Allāhu Bimā Ta`malūna Khabīrun (64:8).

So believe in Allah and His messenger and the light which We have revealed. And Allah is Informed of what ye do.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 24:35]

The light of wisdom (the Quran) in the heart of the Holy Prophet is as protected as the lamp in the glass. Verses 77 to 79 of al Waqi-ah clearly state that the Quran is a protected book; and no one can touch it save the thoroughly purified, the Ahl ul Bayt, according to the verse 33 of Ahzab. Therefore the true interpretation of "light upon light" is the Holy Prophet and his Ahl ul Bayt. It is further made clear in the next verse.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 7:103]

"The Moses of Quran is a Muhammad in disguise" is an interesting comment of a Christian scholar. There is an instructive parallelism in Musa's mission to Muhammad's mission.

Confronting them stood two men, Musa with his mission from Allah, and his brother Harun who was his lieutenant (note the instructive parallelism between "Musa and Harun" and "Muhammad and Ali"-"Ali is to me as Harun was to Musa save that prophethood terminated with me", said the Holy Prophet) .

recognition of the aforesaid will insha'allaah lead to a better understanding of the 'TRUE ISLAM,'  as revealed in the bible and the holy qur'an only.

in addition, most of the biblical archaeological discoveries made since the last few decades have only proved the truth and reality of the qur'anic revelation [HQ: 4:157,158] just cited. by allah's infinite grace and mercy, this remarkable evidence continues to mount steadily as more and more biblical archaeological discoveries are being made.

among other things, it also proves the DIVINE ORIGIN and ETERNITY of the holy qur'an and islam, which is ever present in its eternal concept.

18 Now John was hastening to Ephesus, moved thereto by a vision. Damonicus therefore, and Aristodemus his kinsman, and a certain very rich man Cleobius, and the wife of Marcellus, hardly prevailed to keep him for one day in Miletus, reposing themselves with him. And when very early in the morning they had set forth, and already about four miles of the journey were accomplished, a voice came from heaven in the hearing of all of us, saying: John, thou art about to give glory to thy Lord in Ephesus, whereof thou shalt know, thou and all the brethren that are with thee, and certain of them that are there, which shall believe by thy means.

paul's account in the new testament lends credence to john's apocryphal account. its mysterious author claims to be the 'beloved' [beloved of jesus], perhaps meaning the same individual spoken of in the johannine gospel as well.

John 13:23 (KJV) Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Joh 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Joh 20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. Joh 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. Joh 21:20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

but more importantly, the psalmist prophecy [Psalms 20:1,2,6], quoted above was fulfilled in jesus christ, as just seen. however, john's apocryphal account also lends more credence to this interpretation.

as a matter of fact, there is more 'pre-islam evidence' out there which shows that jesus christ was not crucified than there is which proves otherwise.

4.157:
C663. The end of the life of Jesus on earth is as much involved in mystery as his birth, and indeed the greater part of his private life, except the three main years of his ministry. It is not profitable to discuss the many doubts and conjectures among the early Christian sects and among Muslim theologians. The Orthodox Christian Churches make it a cardinal point of their doctrine that his life was taken on the Cross, that he died and was buried, that on the third day he rose in the body with his wounds intact, and walked about and conversed, and ate with his disciples, and was afterwards taken up bodily to heaven.

This is necessary for the theological doctrine of blood sacrifice and vicarious atonement for sins, which is rejected by Islam.

But some of the early Christian sects did not believe that Christ was killed on the Cross.

The Basilidans believed that some one else was substituted for him.

The Docetae held that Christ never had a real physical or natural body, but only an apparent or phantom body, and that his Crucifixion was only apparent, not real.

The Marcionite Gospel (about A.D. 138) denied that Jesus was born, and merely said that he appeared in human form. The Gospel of St. Barnabas supported the theory of substitution on the, Cross.

The Quranic teaching is that Christ was not crucified nor killed by the Jews,

notwithstanding certain apparent circumstances which produced that illusion in the' minds of some of his enemies: that disputations, doubts, and conjectures on such matters are vain; and that he was taken up to Allah (see next verse and note). Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

[emphasis added, navali]

The Docetae held that Christ never had a real physical or natural body, but only an apparent or phantom body, and that his Crucifixion was only apparent, not real.  Yusuf Ali's Commentary from QuranTrans

Revelation 11:8 (KJV) And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Where was that place?

Was it the one indicated at:
a.     Rev 11:8
b.     or Heb 13:12,13
c.     or Deut 23:10-12?
d.     Was it within Jerusalem
e.     or just outside the city limits as in qumran?

Well let’s see what a world renowned scholar and visitor to “that place” had to say in this regard.

She says: The Book of Revelation speaks of “the great city which is spiritually called SODOM and EGYPT, WHERE THE LORD WAS CRUCIFIED.’ QUMRAN WAS NEAR THE ANCIENT SITE OF SODOM ...... Qumran COULD also be called “Egypt” when the Therapeutae met there, as has been seen. [Jesus & The riddle of the Dead Sea Scrolls, by Barbara Thiering, 1992 - pp. 105].

Although the above is nothing more than a conjecture, it is clear that she was thinking about a place outside Jerusalem. If that is the case then do we have any biblical account --hard facts -- to support that view?

Well, let us look at the following for now:

HEB 13:12,13 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered **without the gate.** Let us go forth therefore unto him **without the camp** bearing his reproach.

DEU 23:10-12 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad **out of the camp,** he shall not come within the camp: But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come *into the camp again.* Thou shalt have a place also **without the camp,** whither thou shalt go forth abroad:

Let us now turn to Barbara Thiering and see what she has to say about
this matter as well. She asserts:

1. THE LAST SUPPER

All gospels say that the crucifixion and the events preceding it
took place in “JERUSALEM”, using the plural form of the word. As has been seen, the distances of places given in the gospels, measured in stadia,
FIT EXACTLY THE OUTPOSTS OF QUMRAN, but remain vague when related to Jerusalem [ibid.].

2. THE CRUCIFIXION

A New Testament verse says Jesus suffered
“outside the gate” and  “outside the camp”. ... The phrase “outside the camp” also had a further sense to those who knew their Old Testament: Deuteronomy 23:12 shows that it designated the latrine area --- [ibid. pp. 113].

3.     the gospels say that the place of the crucifixion was known as "the place of a skull". this in itself indicates a graveyard, one of most striking features of the land surrounding the qumran* buildings [jesus the man, under 'the crucifixion,' pp. 151]

4.     the location lay outside the southern entrance gate to the
qumran* complex ..... a new testament verse says that jesus suffered "outside the gate" and "outside the camp" ...... (pp. 150).

the above is also verified by another source, like so:

5.     the site of the crucifixion:  jesus was crucified "outside the city" (john 19:17,20; hebrews 13:12). at a place called "the skull" (matthew 27:33; mark 15:22; luke 23:33 john 19:17) (halley's bible handbook, under, 'mark,' pp. 481).

6.    Without the gate. Without the gate of Jerusalem, Joh 19:17-18. The place where he was put to death was called Golgotha, the place of a skull, and hence the Latin word which we commonly use in speaking of it, Calvary, Lu 23:33; comp. Cmt. on Mt 27:33.

a.    Calvary, as it is now shown, is within the walls of Jerusalem;

b.    but there is no reason to believe that is the place where the Lord Jesus was crucified,

c.    for that was outside of the walls of the city.

The precise direction from the city is not designated by the sacred writers, nor are there any historical records, or traditional marks, by which it can now be known where the exact place was.

All that we know on the subject from the New Testament is, that the name was Golgotha; that the place of the crucifixion and sepulchre were near each other; that they were without the gate, and nigh to the city, and that they were in a frequented spot, John 19:20. "

This would favour the conclusion that the place was probably upon a great road leading from one of the gates; and such a spot would only be found upon the western or northern sides of the city, on the roads leading towards Joppa or Damascus." See the question about the place of the crucifixion examined at length in Robinson's Bibli. Research., vol. ii., pp. 69--80, and Bibliotheca Sacra, No. 1.

The verse/s in question read:

HEB 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned **without the camp.** HEB 13:12,13 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered **without the gate.** Let us go forth therefore unto him **without the camp,** bearing his reproach.

What does the above mean?

'AND I DID NO DIE IN REALITY BUT IN APPEARANCE'

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PROOF: 3. 'But I [jesus]  was not afflicted at all. .... AND I DID NO DIE IN REALITY BUT IN APPEARANCE, lest I be put to shame by them, ....For my death which they think happened, (happened) to them in their error and blindness, SINCE THEY NAILED THEIR MAN unto their death..... IT WAS ANOTHER, their father, WHO DRANK THE GALL AND THE VINEGAR; IT WAS NOT I. THEY STRUCK ME WITH THE REED, IT WAS ANOTHER, SIMON, who bore the cross on his shoulder. IT WAS ANOTHER UPON WHOM THEY PLACED THE CROWN OF THORNS. ..... And I was laughing at their ignorance' (The Nag Hammadi Library in English, The Second Treatise of the Great Seth (VII, 2), pp. 332).

   Beyond Belief
By Elaine Pagels   The astonishing discovery of the Gospel of Thomas, along with more than fifty other early Christian texts unknown since antiquity, offers startling clues. Pagels compares such sources as Thomas’s gospel (which claims to give Jesus’ secret teaching, and finds its closest affinities with kabbalah)
with the canonic texts to show how Christian leaders chose to include some gospels and exclude others from the collection we have come to know as the New Testament. To stabilize the emerging Christian church in times of devastating persecution, the church fathers constructed the canon, creed, and hierarchy—and, in the process, suppressed many of its spiritual resources.

Pagels' 1979 book The Gnostic Gospels was one of the first works of popular scholarship to cover the early Christian writings rejected as the religion began to establish institutions and traditions, many of which would have been lost to history were it not for their chance 1945 discovery at the site of the Egyptian Nag Hammadi Library.

      death and resurrection:

it is a fact, then,  that the canonical story of the death of christ WAS DOUBTED by many in the _s_e_c_o_n_d_ _c_e_n_t_u_r_y_ and BOOKS were written, like the GOSPEL OF BARNABAS, DENYING IT [the world's saviors, a study in comparative religions by rev. charles h. vail., pp. 32, isbn 0-7873-0906-0] .

Biblical Overview

THOUGH THE BIBLE DOES NOT
specifically describe the instrument
that jesus died upon,
TRADITION HAS IT that he was put to
death on a cross;
consisting of a stake and a crossbeam.
>>

'One gnostic text from Nag Hammadi, the Apocalypse of Peter, relates a radically different version of the crucifixion :

  •  ..... I saw him apparently being seized by them.

And I said what am I seeing, O Lord?

  • Is it really you whom they take?

  • And are you holding on to me?

  • And are they hammering the feet and hands of another

Who is this one above the cross, who is glad and laughing?

The Saviour said to me, "He whom you saw being glad and laughing is the Living Jesus

  • But he into whose hands and feet they are driving the nails is his fleshy part, which is the substitute

  • They put to shame that which remained in his likeness. And look at him,

  •

and [look at ] me"

(The Gnostic Gospels, by Elaine Pagels, under, 'The Passion of Christ,' pp. 87).

despite these irrefutable biblical or pre-islamic facts, the said muslim exponents of the holy qur'an have taken upon themselves to not only contradict the bible and the holy qur'an but also they have pursued their own private and 'foreign' agenda in the process.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:55]

In Badshah Husain's English translation of the Holy Quran, Sale is quoted on page 14 of Vol. 11. as under:

"It is supposed by several that this story was an original of Mohammad's but they are certainly mistaken, for several sectarians held the same opinion, long before his time. The Basilidians (Irrenus I.I.C 23 and C. Epiphan Haeres 24 num III) in the very beginning of Christianity, denied that Christ himself suffered, but that Simon the Cyraracean was crucified in his place. The Corinthians before them and the Carpocratians next (to name no more of those who affirmed Jesus to have been a mere man) did believe the same thing; it was not himself, but one of his followers very like him that was crucified. Photius tells us that he read a book entitled "The Journeys of the Apostles", relating the acts of Peter, John, Andrew, Thomas and Paul, and among other things contained therein, this was one, that Christ was not crucified, but another in his stead, and that therefore he laughed at his crucifiers (Photius Bible Cod 114, col. 291) or those who thought they had crucified him (Tolands' Nazrenus p. 17 and c.)"

The Jewish plot to kill Isa was prevented by the best of planners, the almighty Allah.

Tawaffa is to fulfil a promise. Inni mutawaffika means "I will complete your term". The word may mean death or to take away. It has been used in both its meanings in the Quran. The Ahmadi commentator, to deny the miraculous escape of Isa from being crucified, misinterprets the word tawaffa as Isa's physical death. The Holy Prophet and the holy Imams have said that Isa will come down again from the heaven before the day of resurrection and offer prayers behind Imam Muhammad al Mahdi, the last Imam in the progeny of the Holy Prophet.

rest assured, the bible lends credence to the qur'anic version of the events cited @  3:55,56 & 4:157,158.

The Gospel of Barnabas & the ahmadiyya movement

Author of Hebrews
... 13:28. Barnabas
Tertullian first suggested Barnabas as the author of Hebrews. Acts 4:36 describes him as a Levite making him familiar with Levitical ritual. ...

‘Barnabas, His Gospel, and its Credibility (II)
... name, and they gave it canonical standing because they rated its author as an apostle.
However, the nature of both Hebrews and the Epistle of Barnabas is hard ...

THE GOSPEL OF BARNABAS #220 Jesus replied, embracing his mother: “Believe me mother for verily I say to thee that I HAVE NOT BEEN DEAD AT ALL: for God HATH RESERVED ME TILL THE END OF THE WORLD.” Then the four angels narrated to the Virgin how God had sent for Jesus, and had TRANSFORMED JUDAS, that he might suffer the punishment to which he had sold another.

#221 The third day Jesus said: Go to the Mount of Olives with my mother, for there WILL I ASCEND _A_G_A_I_N_ unto heaven, and ye will see who shall bear me up.’ And he reproved many who believed him to have died and risen again, saying: “Do ye then hold me and God for liars? for God hath granted to me to LIVE ALMOST UNTO THE END OF THE WORLD, even as I said unto you.

Verily I say unto you, I DIED NOT, but Judas the traitor.

Then before their eyes the four angels carried him up into heaven [pp. 262,263, 268-273].

lahore-ahmadiyya  The Gospel of Barnabas:
[Jesus Christ foretold the advent of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)]
by Mirza Masum Beg

Prayer Accepted:

This prayer of Jesus: Take away this cup from me, offered in a state of agony and anguish (Luke, 22:44), was heard by the Most High God and there appeared an angel unto him from heaven strengthening him (Luke, 21:33). Paul, the founder of Church Christianity, speaking of this acceptance of Jesus’ prayer by the Most High God,
writes in his Epistle to the Hebrews (5:7):

Who (Jesus) in the days of his flesh when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was heard in that he feared.

[snip]

He must have received Divine assurance of deliverance in answer to his prayers (Hebrews 5:7). [the qadiani leader]

Death on the Cross

"In the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and  tears unto him that was able to save him from death and was heard in that he feared".
(Hebrews 5:7).

the qadiani addition & distortion of the biblical text
[????  'of death on the cross']

he had prayed to god in great agony to 'take away this cup [???? of death on the cross, ???? addition navali]  from me' [mark 14:36; matt 26:29; luke 22:42], and his prayer was heard [heb 5:7] [note#699, ahmadi qur'an translation pp. 232, published under auspices of the last 3 qadiani leaders]

The Gospel of Barnabas was accepted as a Canonical Gospel in the Churches of Alexandria till 325 C.E.  In 325 C.E., the Nicene Council was held, where it was ordered that all original Gospels in Hebrew script should be destroyed.

well, the above speaks for itself.

ahmadiyya

Matthew 26:38 (KJV) Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. Matthew 26:41 (KJV) Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

Mark 14:34 (KJV) And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. Mark 14:35 (KJV) And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. Mark 14:36 (KJV) And he said, Abba, Father, all things [are] possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Mark 14:37 (KJV) And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?  Mark 14:38 (KJV) Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly [is] ready, but the flesh [is] weak. Mark 14:39 (KJV) And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

(Crucifixion, by an Eye-Witness, 35).

But what became of Jesus? Before I answer this question I must give some details of the secret Order known as the Essenes (meaning the Pious) which existed at the time of Jesus and to which Jesus and John the Baptist belonged (Renan, Life of Jesus, 34. See also Julicher, Hat Jesus Gelebt, 48). Jesus had been "admitted into the Order at the same time with John in their years of early manhood" (Crucifixion, by an Eye-Witness, 35).

It is a peculiar fact that after his alleged resurrection Jesus always greeted people by saying: "Peace be unto you" (Luke, 24 : 36; John, 20 : 19, 21, 26), a sign of recognition peculiar to the Essenes (The Crucifixion, by an Eye- Witness 22).

The ascension is a simpler matter still. Jesus was going up the mountain when he is said to have parted from his disciples. Heavy clouds, as often happens in mountainous country, came low and their mist gradually engulfed him. The olive trees on the Mount also screened him. By the time the clouds had lifted he had reached the summit and had entered the "white house" or, in other words, had crossed the ridge (Crucifixion, by an Eye-Witness, 124). On the assurance of the two secret colleagues in white, who became visible after the lifting of the mist, the wondering disciples regarded this event as the reception of Jesus into heaven.

Lo and behold! the two miracles, the Resurrection and the Ascension, on which is founded the entire Christian faith, disappear. The stupendous Christological superstructure, so laboriously built, falls into a heap of rubbish.

the following independent account lends some credence to it.

Ch.7, "Those Versatile Essenes" Beskow quotes from the anonymous "The crucifiction by an eyewitness, (p.54-55), the Essene Letter", which begins:
"I have informed you of all these things, my brethren, that you shall indeed know that Jesus was our brother, and belonged to our Holy Order, ...."

2.    and the youth observed with inexpressible joy that the lips of the body moved, AND THAT IT BREATHED. he at once hastened to JESUS TO ASSIST HIM, AND HEARD SLIGHT SOUNDS RISING FROM HIS BREAST. the FACE assumed a LIVING APPEARANCE, and the EYES OPENED and in astonishment gazed at the novice of our order [pp. 79]

3.    The two angels at the tomb were really Essene brothers dressed in white. Jesus died some six months later from the injuries sustained during his torture.

reprinted from the book, Refuting Jehovah's Witnesses see catalog

The Cross (Greek: stauros) Biblical Overview

Though the Bible does not specifically describe the instrument that Jesus died upon, tradition has it that he was put to death on a cross; consisting of a stake and a crossbeam. The Greek stauros is sometimes used to describe a simple stake, and other times a more complex form such as the cross.

the crucified figure IS NOT NAILED TO THE NORMAL christian idea of the cross [the turin shroud], where the upright continues through the crossbeam, BUT TO A CROSS IN THE FORM OF A JEWISH TAU WHICH IS T-SHAPED.

medieval christian imagery shows A SECOND CROSSBEAM representing
that mockingly proclaimed jesus to be the king of the jews, BUT IT
NEVER SHOWS A TAU CROSS.
['the second messiah - templars, THE
TURIN SHROUD & the great secret of freemansonary,
christopher knight
& robert lomas, published 1977, pp. 54,55].'

all known medieval paintings show jesus christ being crucified with nails driven through the _p_a_l_m_s_ of the hands, NOT THROUGH THE _W_R_I_S_T_S_ AS ON THE SHROUD  ['the second messiah - templars,  the TURIN SHROUD & the great   secret of the freemasonry   pp. 197]

The arm bones of the victim revealed a deep scratch on the radius of the right forearm while the bone was living, just above the wrist produced by a nail penetrating between the radius and the ulna. Christian paintings usually show the nails piercing the palms of Jesus' hands, but that is impossible. The weight of the slumping body would have torn the palms in a very short time. The nails were driven into the victim's wrists, because they are sufficiently strong to hold the weight of a slack body. We also know his name. On the ossuary is his name: "Yehohanan, the son of Hagakol."

if this is the case, and it is then how could anyone defend such hypothesis let alone follow it as the fundamental pillar of the pauline christianity and an absolute means of your salvation? details given below.

please consider the following accounts in their totality:

obviously, it is impossible to conclude that jesus and  jehohannan were crucified in exactly the same manner

jehohannan was crucified closer to the time of jesus' own crucifixion. .. finally let us return  to the issues raised by the appearance of the tlh  in the dead sea scrolls. scholars have wrestled  with this verb often PRESUPPOSING  that crucifixion was by means of nailing a victim to wood.

now, we LEARN from anthropological examinations of the bones of jehohannan that he was 'HUNG' by his arms from horizontal bar or a TREE.

any remaining  problems with translating tlh to denote crucifixion should now be removed  ['jesus and the dead sea scrolls' - edited by James H. Charlesworth, pp. 283-284].

in fine, jesus was admitted into the order - [essene, navali] - at the same time with john in the years of their manhood. .... my dear  brethren, you may all have been convinced that he has been a member of our order, as well by the doctrines he has taught the people, and his signs of recognition, especially the baptism and the breaking of the bread and passing of the wine, as well as by his being baptized by one of our brethren  john, in jordon, near the shore of the dead sea, in a westerly direction--for baptism, as you know, has been, since time immemorial, a sacred institution of our brotherhood.   [pp. 36]

i tell you only of the things i know, and i have seen it all with mine own eyes and have take deep interest and an active part in all these transactions. .... now, at the time i write this to you the jews have seven times eaten of the lamb of the passover since our brother was crucified, ...   [pp. 38/39]

they then laid hold of jesus and, lifting him up, placed him on the short stake which is always put in front of each cross, that the body of the criminal may rest there WHILE BEING TIED

i.
THEY TIED THE ARMS
ii.     AS USUAL with strong cords,

and so tightly ...

iii.     in the same manner
THEY _T_I_E_D_ HIS FEET .....

i.     after this they drove through his hands thick iron nails,

ii.     BUT _N_O_N_E_ THROUGH HIS FEET, FOR THIS WAS _N_O_T_ CUSTOMARY.

iii.     i note this particularly, my dear brethren, inasmuch as IT HAS BEEN RUMORED

iv.     that he was nailed through both his hands and his _f_e_e_t_   [pp. 60]

5. AN EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF THE CRUCIFIXION.

please note again:

i.     after this they drove through his hands thick iron nails,

ii.     BUT _N_O_N_E_ THROUGH HIS FEET, FOR THIS WAS _N_O_T_ CUSTOMARY.

see how strong, forceful, precise and concise this statement is. the author goes to some length to give an explicit reason for the same.
