Review

Zelda is probably one of the best games for the N64.  It is a role playing game with plenty of puzzles and adventure mixed in.

Some of the main difference between this and the other Zelda games that came out for the SNES are:

  1. It  is set in a 3D world.

  2. An artificial night and day is used.

  3. You can travel forwards and backwards in time.

  4. Oh yes and you get to win your own horsy to ride around on.

Anyway the game its self involves you the hero - young Link - going off into the world in order to save it from an evil thief known as Gandorf.

(Oh and of course rescuing princess Zelda as well might be a good idea)

You start of as a child and finally become an adult as the game progresses, collecting the usual things along the way such as magic stones, equipment etc etc etc.

Much of what you find will be hidden in the various dungeons along the way.  And you will usually have to fight a dungeon boss to complete your task.  These can range from easy to defeat to hard as each has their own weak spot.

In addition to this there are a number of sub quests in the game such as a trading masks game, to keep you busy.

Some of the older Zelda fans still insist that Zelda for the SNES was a lot better, and in some ways it was.  It used to be a look down 2 Dimensional approach rather than in a 3D world.  And there seemed to be more equipment, dungeons and puzzles.

But hey the new one is just as much fun and definitely worth a look at.
