Turok II

Review

Players of the original Turok greatly anticipated the release of this game, hoping for new improved monsters, levels, weapons and even more control than the original.

Unfortunately this was not to be, Turok2 was no where near as good as the original, true it had better graphics, fiercer/faster monsters and even included a four player multiplayer mode.

But the facts are the control system just got a whole lot worse and has the worst aiming system I have ever come across. Lets put it this way you have about as much chance of actually hitting a fast moving dinosaur or end of level boss with this new system as you would of wining the national lottery.

In addition to which the weapons got a lot worse with some of the most boring weapons in the galaxy being provided.

As if this wasn't enough the multiplayer was a complete loss, with players moving so fast that you didn't have a hope of hitting them without large explosive weaponry to back you up and the music which was so fun and atmospheric in the games was noticeably absent in the multiplayer.

(Maybe that's why they gave away a free mini CD so that people who could be bothered could actually have music with the multiplayer)

Anyway I would recommend getting the original Turok and maybe renting Turok2 to see how it compares if you are set on getting it.
