You said "He created the Earth then they verbally passed it
on to the next geeration and so forth (for there was no way or
recording stuff then, like writting)untill Moses recoreded the
whole "

You are aware aren't you that there were civilations in existence
for thouseands of years before Moses led the Israelites out of
Egypt? These other civiliations, including the Egyption where Moses
himself learned how to write in the first place plus all the various
forms of writing all over the Mediteranean and Near Eastern area, as
well as over in the Orient, India, Persia etc! The Israelites were
but a small tribal group almost totally lacking in the acoutrements
of civilization except for what they learned from those around them.

You are aware also aren't you that much of the old testament was
plagerazation of myths from other religions before Araham created his
own personal family/tribal religion? Many of the stories in the new
testament are right out of "The Tales of Gilgamesh" the holy book of
the religion that reigned in the city/state of Ur where Abrahm came
from originally. He simply renamed the stories and they were
included in the early Hebrew mythology.

Okay, then, if you take the bible to be God's truth, then do you
beleive that anyone caught working on the sabbath should be stoned?

Or that a woman taken in adultery should be stoned? (and what about
the man who is also sinning?)

Or that women once married should shave their heads and go veiled
outside the home?

Or that all christians should sell their homes and possesions and
donate them to the church and live in a commune?

Still, the fact that he has a plan in the first place seems
contradicary to a perfect being. Also, why would he "want" anything?
Want comes from a desire to have something we can't guarantee. God
needs nothing, as he is all powerful and all knowing.

Why Christians look at facts is because people ask questions

Just cos God don't "want" didn't stop Him from Creating us

Mmmm nobody is blaming anybody, we are just discussing why it happens

Well, i really dunno.... There may be some imbalance in hormones, or
something that causes homosexuality and bisexuality. In that case, to be
non-sexual, you shouldn't have any hormones at all.

OK, first off, Moses couldn't write. It wasn't he who wrote the book of
Moses, it was his ancestors. I don't think the bible can account as proof -
You know how to make a hen out of a feather?? It's the exact same thing. To
go on your line, in each generation they damaged the real story alittle
further, and when moses finally heard about it, it was totally different
then what had happened. There are proof of evulotion. There are skeletons,
thingys, and alot of evidence that points to the fact that human acestors
were apes. Not dirt.

It couldn't possibly have occured.
The bible isn't blessed by an higher power just because it's the bible. The
bible is written by humans! Stories... Once, a man made up a tale of how the
earth was created. He didn't know any better, so he just made up a story to
please himself, then he passed it to his children, they passed it to their
children and so on. In every generation, this story became alittle more
different then the original one. And the original one wasn't even true.
The bible should not be taken litteratly

Subject:  my positions on few things...
Ok, i've read(kinda) all the back posts, and here are some of my
ideas, positions, etc...

1.homosexuals: i believe that it is a somewhat genetic trait. I know
quite a few in person, and on the net, and all of them say they never
chose it...i am hetero, so i personally dont know for sure. I think
bisexuals are either experimenting or cant make their minds up, and
in regards to "non-sexuals" if they exist im just not gonna have an
opinion on them! lol

2. creation or evolution: I believe in both...confusing huh? i think
that god (or a god or gods or whathaveyou) created the world but had
us built with the ability to change inorder to adapt to our
invironments so that we evolve. i dont think god created everything
just the way it is...and no idont think we came from monkeys, cause
if we did that would a)make me wonder why some of my family is still
in monkey form and b)it might just explain my younger brother ;)

3. religion in schools: i personally dont want it in my schools
because i believe it would be bias as to what religion they would
allow. If they were going to have it then i would want to be
guaranteed equal rights for every one of every religion. As i like to
tell my xian friends... sure, you can say your prayers out loud in
that corner if i can set up my candles and incense and cast a circle
in this corner (more on circles later if y'all want an explanation.)

4. alittle on pagans: by definition, a pagan is anything that is not
a christian, muslim or jew. some worship many gods, some worship one.
it depends on the person. let me explain it easily as this : lets say
you have christianity(thats like saying pagan). Now you break it down
into what people believe in(denominations) such as catholic,
lutheran, methodist, pentecostal, etc.(paganism breaks down
into "denominations" but are usually called "sects" as such: there
are wiccans, asatru, druids, celtic pagans, celtic druids, witches,
etc...) Now, explaining the whole witch thing could take eternity
because there are several types of witchs(though wiccans are
typically called witches, not all of them are, and not all witches
are wiccans..like me. i am typically called a christian witch because
fundementally i follow the bible on many things...but i dont believe
it is the end-all truth)

5. skepticsannontatedbible.com : i love this site. yes they are
skeptics, but it is a good resource...fair warning, if you are going
to use the site, make sure you read things in context...they
sometimes take things out of context (which drives me nuts!)

anyways, thanks for the warm invite! sorry this is sooooo long!
blessings to you all,
3/4angel
ps: just to start a new conversation...does anyone here believe that
god lies? (i've got an interesting tidbit of scripture on this one
that just makes me love this question!)

Subject:  Re: U know what i think?
AHA!!! Thanks Fredrik. I think I know why this can't happen. If there
were no hormones, I don't think we could develop correctly. Certain
hormones are essential for us to function right.
