Nelda's report
Hi Nathan,
That was certainly a beautiful diary of the R-Day you wrote for us. I think you were able to vividly capture in print what every single one of us who made it to the reunion was feeling before, during and after the event. I think what really made it special was being able to get the chance to be transported back in time and relive the memories, even just for a day, of a part in our lives when everything seemed so simple yet so exhilirating.
No, Howard and I were not the least bit offended on any of the things written about us. On the contrary, we both really enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days. It had to take a reunion such as this for us to see each other again after thirty years. Can youimagine the impact of that?
Dinah, it was so nice to see you again. You hadn't changed--still the warm carefree pal from ages ago. Evie, you were such a revelation. You seem to have an eternal spring of beautiful prayers inside you! Art, so dignified and high-tech yet still the same sweet Art as I knew you before.
Pio, if there were to be a most-transformed-classmate award, I think you will win it hands down. You have such a beautiful family--it was so nice of you to bring them over. Fake, it was so refreshing meeting you again. My son was very much impressed with you!
Arnel, I just can't fathom how you can be so creative, witty, and spontaneous in your puns. You never seem to run out of jokes that bring the house down. By the way, I liked your son a lot. Seems like he has a lot of depth.
Buddy, maybe physically you're next to Pio in the most-transformed-classmate award. But the fiery El Presidente in you is still the same.
Tom, to me, you too are a revelation. I really enjoy your posts--well, at least when you still had the time.
Lettie, can't forget that you were the very first one who told me about this reunion. Thanks for that link.
Arlene S., also very refreshing to see and hear from you again, now with motherhood as your central role.
Arlene L., you are the same yet different. But different for the better definitely.
Joy, seeing you with Jessie and your kids really impresses us on how happy your homelife must be,
Vivienne, you're still as pretty, demure, and as feminine as you were in high school.
Brenda, thanks for your thoughtfulness in lending me your jacket.
Ruben, you haven't changed much. Still silent-looking. Maybe nasa loob ang kulo?
Ramon, Ikaw rin you haven't changed much. At least from your appearance.
The reunion was really worth the wait and the long (9 hours!) traffic-laden trip to Baguio. Howard joins me in thanking the Baguio group for all the efforts so cheerfully given, and like me, he also sends his best and warmest regards to everyone!
