| major lable A&M Records. They were the first of the Sub Pop bands to sign a major record deal. As a tribute to the late Andy Wood, Mother Love Bone lead vocalist, Chris Cornel and Matt Cameron from Soundgarden, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament from Mother Love Bone and then unknown, Mike McCready went on to create the one-off band Temple Of The Dog. Following the success of Temple of The Dog Soundgarden began recording Louder Than Love. Soon After Hiro Yamamoto was replaced by (ex-Nirvana member) Jason Everman though he only played on one track, the cover version of the Beatles "Come Together". He was eventually replaced by the band's friend, Ben "Hunter" Shepherd. Badmotorfinger was not only an addition to the bands already successful formula, it added insistant riffs and a melodic sound that would go on to define the Grunge genre. |
| Soundgarden had been rising in popularity since the release of the single "Jesus Christ Pose", and thier popularity reached it's pinacle with Superunknown which debuted at number 1 on the billboard charts. | and the band itself. Down On The Upside is also consdiered a good album with harder and melodic riffs which echoed Cornell's allegidly serious drug problems. Soon after in 1997, Soundgarden spilt with Cameron moving on to Pearl Jam and Cornell embarking on a solo carreer. Cornell was involved with three of the four former members of Rage Against The Machine. The band was schedualed to appear at OZZFEST 2002, but the band has since broken up. The album the team have contstructed will still likely be released under a yet undetermined name. |
