GREEN RIVER
different from the 80's hair bands that were popular at the time, but bother were still punk in nature.  It soon became clear that there was a difference of opinion in how to proceed, sign to a major lable, or stay local.
Green River was destroyed because of this issue.  Mark Arm and Steve Turner went on to form the band Mudhoney, while Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard went on to create Mother Love Bone with Disfunction frontman, Andy Wood.
Mother Love Bone would fall apart after the heroin
overdose of Andy Wood, but Gossard and Ament weren't finished yet.  They met a California surfer and songwriter Eddie Vedder and started the now legendary Pearl Jam.
As for Mark and Steve, well
Mudhoney has stayed true to their punk roots to this day and are known for creating classics like "Touch Me I'm Sick", "Overblown", and "Suck You Dry."
It isn't impossible to see Green River however.  Every once in a while you'll hear that
Pearl Jam is going on tour with Mudhoney.  That means whoever is fortunate enough to attend will get to hear some great Green River classics.
