In the following pages I present only some of the copies of the original authentic
documents, letters and other materials concerning my hospitalization and my case in and
out of the courts. I possess many more pieces of documentary evidence -- complete medical
and judicial records (most of them in French and some translated into English), tape
recordings, and other supportive records, but it was impossible for me to include all of
them. I have selected some materials which, in my opinion, would add emphasis to my case,
and are really more explanatory than my own writing. For readers who are interested in
particular issues or documents mentioned in this book, I would be glad to respond or
supply the requested documentation.
