CHAMBRE DES COMMUNES CANADA 20-07-1979
The Secretary of the Committee on Discipline Dear Sirs:
We the undersigned, friends of Dr. Risto Delev, are joining him in his request for a fair and human solution to his confinement in some psychiatric institution in the Province of Quebec.
It is our firm opinion and understanding that almost eight years of suffering is more than enough. These sufferings and grievances have made Dr. Delev's life extremely difficult, if not unbearable. Our understanding is that Dr. Delev pleads and insists on recognition and respect for his fundamental human rights - namely to give him a chance for an impartial, independent and fair inquiry and hearing of his case. We believe that Dr. Delev is right in requesting this justice and resolution of his case once and for all. We believe also that, in one way or another, there could be found some human and fair solution, if there is any goodwill and understanding. Dr. Delev deserves to be accepted as a human being who could be useful to the society and his medical profession.
We hope and expect that the Committee will pay immediate attention to Dr. Delev's request. We think a human approach to his case is possible and urgent, taking into consideration his present situation.
Yours sincerely, FRIENDS OF DR. RISTO DELEV SIGNED:

The letter was never answered. The letter shows, that despite my confrontations with many members of the medical establishment, I had attracted sympathy and support from many friends in my battle for my rights. Among the signers of this letter were three physicians, two members of parliament, a registered nurse (supervisor), priest, veterinarian doctor, and others, although the action was fruitless. Dr. Augustin Roy, president of the Corporation was recently "charged with protecting doctors rather than the public, intervening personally to cover up for members of the profession and playing fast and loose with confidentiality..."218
