Silbury Hill
Silbury Hill is a massive man made mound with a flat top constructed of chalk and earth. It is the largest man made mound in Europe. It is about 40 meters high and has a base circumference of 1640 feet. There were three stages to the construction of the hill, the first stage began about 2,600 BCE (Before Common Era).
From my A level archaeology lessons I can recall that there are a lot of legends attatched to Silbury Hill. Some of the websites I have included will have information about the legends.
