Recent Updates:

  • 1/26/08: Added a Mage: the Awakening story I wrote in 2006.
  • 1/13/08: Updates to the 1940s LARP character creation main page, heroic feats, rules for creating custom immortals, Merits and Flaws, and Sphere magic rules. -- Also: quick rules for running a superhero game.
  • 9/28/06: Hmm, this seems to have reverted to an earlier version of this page. There have been updates since June 2004! Anyway, I was going to say that I had added some new pages to my most recent LARP-in-progress, but I may as well just link to the index of that. The new stuff, for those following along, is mostly about fairies.
  • 6/26/04: Pentex Office Party site (for a LARP taking place in August 2004).
  • 3/4/04: A stupid logo for a LARP.
  • 6/5/03: Stupid Photoshop thing mocking a public figure.
  • 5/13/03: McCarthyism humor.
  • 5/9/03: A case report for a supernatural investigators LARP I'm in.
  • 3/24/03: I have been inspired to add devastatingly witty but derivative political satire.
  • 1/28/03: Here's some stupid cartoon art based on a dream about the Allston-Brighton Fighting Uruk-Hai.
  • 10/9/02: Because I'm in danger of finishing my dissertation prospectus otherwise, I have begun a new section of my website, Latin for Gamers.
  • 7/2/02: Fixed broken links and added some new ones on the Game Links page.
  • 6/28/02: Updated the Midsummer Home page to reflect the fact that this year's game is over now.
  • 6/18/02: I've posted an open letter from Baroness Jacqueline and tweaked the House Rules.
  • 6/6/02: I have begun to update the New Angle, the satyr Moog's rumor column. For the latest entries, go straight to Moog's Livejournal (which seems to be having server problems today, unfortunately).
  • 6/5/02: Unconnected to the game, I have added two sketches from 1990 to the Footlights archive.
  • 6/3/02: Charter of the Parliament of Novanglia (draft).
  • 5/31/02: Added a tentative timeline of events from Highsummer 2001 (last game) to Midsummer 2002 (upcoming game).
  • 5/29/02 and 5/28/02: Got some film developed, and so put some pictures up
  • 5/27/2002: Updated the Midsummer home page with a request for information from people who want to play on June 22. Unconnected with the Changeling LARP, I have added old stories I wrote in my younger, less wise days (like in the 1980s).
  • 4/15/2002: Updated the Midsummer home page with a probable date (June 22, 2002) for the next game.
  • 11/21/2001: Updated the game links page. Added a brief note to the Midsummer home page.
  • 7/29/2001: Updated the Midsummer home page (though I suppose "Midsummer" is now a misnomer). Added the Highsummer 2001 cast list and timeline of events from Midsummer 2000 to Highsummer 2001, both of which are slightly revised versions of postings to the mailing list last week. Moved the "teaser" for yesterday's game from the home page to the Highsummer casting call page.
  • 7/9/2001: Minor adjustment to the Treasure rules (changed the write-up of the "Retest" Merit).
  • 6/19/2001: Realizing I had it wrong before, I changed the information on how the Fae Realm works for Denizens and Merfolk. Also, I added new redes and banes to the chimerical companion rules either based on spirit charms from Werewolf or just plain made up.
  • 6/13/2001: I added a few Flaws from the main tabletop book to the Merits and Flaws page. I've also, over the last couple of days, clarified some more House Rules (including adding a system for the Dragon's Ire) and fixed minor typos etc. on a various other pages.
  • 6/8/2001: Still more revision to the House Rules re: cantrip casting, including expansion of Chronos, Dreamcraft, Naming, and Pyretics.
  • 6/7/2001: I've overhauled the Chimerical companion rules to include new redes and banes from tabletop supplements.
  • 6/6/2001: Apart from updating the main page with the play date, yet another round of revision to the House Rules, especially as regards the decision to use Revised Health levels. This has also led to minor changes in some Arts conversions and the chimerical companion rules.
  • 6/4/2001: More tinkering with the House Rules, prompted by reading through relevant sections of the MET supplement Dark Epics and, separately, rethinking Status rules.
  • 5/31/2001: Some revisions to the House Rules.
  • 5/30/2001: It's a minimax party, and you're all invited! I've tinkered with the homemade Merits and Flaws.
  • 5/29/2001: There's now a Yahoo group for discussion and announcements. -- Also, I've added House Aesin and House Varich to the Lost Houses page.
  • 5/28/2001: The Arts from Blood-Dimmed Tides are now on the New Arts page. Also, Merits and Flaws from Kithbook: Redcaps and War in Concordia have now been converted to live-action rules.
  • 5/25/2001: I've updated Midsummer Home and added a casting call for the upcoming game, complete with a very brief "story so far." Also, I've added rules for playing Merfolk and Murdhuacha from Blood-Dimmed Tides. Haven't done their Arts yet.
  • 5/23/2001: "Oneiromancy" is mostly finished on the New Arts page, and I'll probably be doing the Arts from Blood-Dimmed Tides next. -- Also: I have added something of a site map.
  • 5/22/2001: LARP conversions of the Denizen Arts "The Autumn Way" and "Discord" are now up on my New Arts page.
  • 5/21/2001: I have misspent my free time recently doing LARP translations of Denizens of the Dreaming. The "beta version" may be viewed here (minus Arts).
  • 5/11/2001: I found and put up an in-progress summary I started last year of the Midsummer 2000 game. I could use your help in polishing it up...
  • 5/10/2001: I added a little to the description of House Beaumayn and also put up brief rules for House Daireann on the Lost Houses page.
  • 5/9/2001: It's alive! I've updated Midsummer Home with a "teaser" for an upcoming Changeling one-shot, moved older background materials for the game to an archive page, and started LARP conversions from the Book of Lost Houses, beginning with House Beaumayn.
  • 12/12/2000: Updated game links and added a link to this page from the main oimoi page.
  • 10/25/2000: Updated non-game links.
  • 9/11/2000: Updated game links.
  • 8/30/2000: I changed the layout of oimoi home. Began a new section of my website, a guide to the supernatural in New England.
  • 8/14/2000: Updated the "About Me" section.
  • 6/23/2000: Added the page you are reading. Put up the Introduction to the Midsummer 2000 game (by Moog the Satyr). Began work on a summary of the events of said game.

  • 6/19: I added two Tyr stories sent to me by Mr. Coutcher: "Tyr" (for want of a better title) and "On the Road". These follow the stories about the sinister Nick Riley and Lady Jacqueline ap Eiluned.
  • Also the Dreamline broadcast from the game.
  • And it's been up for a while, but here it is for all to see -- the letter Baron Sean was given by Dark Bobby, which some had seen before game time. It details Surreal's plot against Asterlan in 1975.

  • 6/15: We have a site! I have reserved room B06A in the basement of the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences bulding, but if the weather happens to be nicer than it seems it will be, we'll be outside behind the same building. The room has been reserved from noon to 8:30 p.m. Game should start by about 1:30.
  • I keep revising the cast of characters for this game as I receive information.

  • 6/13: Added the opening Dreamline for Game 3 (August 1998).

  • 6/12: I have added live-action translations for the Arts Metamorphosis and (most of) Infusion.
  • I put up two more bits of memorabilia from the old chronicle: The opening Dreamline for Game 2 (July 1998) and the strange film noir flashback that many kithain experienced in the presence of Phil Logan, P.I., during game 3, shedding light on some of the duchy's shady history.

  • 6/09: I could use some submissions for The New Angle, a gossip sheet that will contain fun and happy rumors about what characters have been up to recently (supplementing information to be gained from the tiresome Troy Poodlesbane). There's one new story up there now, and commentary from a disgruntled satyr on two older pieces.
  • I have further tinkered with general rule changes and clarifications, including adding a link to the updated revised treasure rules (until today the link there took you to the old twinkier rules -- oops!).
