Make my monster grow!


Players have the option of constructing their own immortal characters, if they want to be a ghost or werewolf or unique fae creature or something that's not otherwise included (possibly because you hadn't invented it yet). Naturally, I have the option of saying, "No."


Start with basic character template.

Choose Origin and Outlook.

Add generic supernatural template:

  •  Immortality Merit (including Immunity, Weakness, Binding, Bans)
  •  1 level of Rank
  •   4 dots Disciplines (all “out of clan”) OR Wizardry OR 7 traits of Merits
  •  7 character points to spend on Attributes, Abilities, or Backgrounds
  •  a Birthright: a free supernatural power, roughly equivalent to a 2-to-3-trait Supernatural Merit, a Basic Discipline, or an Apprentice or Initiate Rote. The Birthright will cost a Mana trait to activate; more powerful Birthrights should have more limited durations or be limited by one or more of the character's Bans
  •  a Frailty: 3 traits’ worth of Negative Traits or Flaws (that do not provide extra character points or count against the usual maximum total of Negative Traits or Flaws).


  • Take up to 7 traits of Flaws and 5 Negative traits; spend resulting character points.

    Spend 20 XP.

    Auspex 1 (4 XP)
    Celerity 2 (8 XP)
    Fortitude 1
    Protean 1, 2, 3 (+Protean 4 and Protean Add-On: War Form [total 10 CP])
    [Protean War Form: + 6 Physical Traits, Feral Claws, Huge Size (+2 Bruised Health Levels), Horror (= Delerium)]

    Immunity: Bashing damage from normal bullets
    Weakness: Aggravated damage from silver
    Bans: Repelled by wolfsbane, Cannot be in human form at night during full moon
    Binding: Wolfsbane-tipped blade or needle

    Birthright: one additional Bruised Health Level
    Frailty: Violent; Flaw: Lunacy

    Merits: Choose 2 traits, or spend elsewhere (2 CP).
    Flaws: Choose 7 more traits.

    7 Character Points from Template: Physical Traits (3), Abilities (2), Backgrounds (2)
    12 Character Points from Neg. Traits and Flaws: Disciplines (10), Merits (2)
    20 Experience Traits: Disciplines (12), Rank (5), Attributes (2), Specialization (1)
