These
are the people who are showing up, so far as I know, in alphabetical order
of real first name, for no real reason. So you don't have to slog
through the 1998
cast list, I'm transferring relevant character descriptions here.
Barbara N. as Else Ruth, a horse pooka childling, squire to Sir Ashe. Ben R. as a happy pooka. Chase W. as a kinain scribe guy. Dan P. as Count Dumas ap Eiluned, black-clad seelie sidhe graybeard, currently ruler of Novanglia. Formerly chamberlain to Duke Brendan. Blames most of the duchy's problems on nameless unseelie ruffians. His refusal to accept the title of Duke from Queen Mab has led people to believe he plans to step down soon. (Dan may have other NPCs as well.) Dominic O. as Baron Corwin ap Gwydion, the stately and arrogant seelie sidhe ruler of the Emerald Necklace, although to mortals he's just another street crazy. A hero (to sidhe) of the Accordance War and perhaps the next Duke of Novanglia. -- Not coming, but his character might be mentioned. Drew M. as Matthias Scroop, nocker grump, staunchly commoner master of the forge at Chi Mu and influential politician. Eric B. as Bobby Smith, a little brat with a *really* big mouth who likes to eat cats in his spare time; formerly a redcap childling, but somehow changed into a chimerical dragon-like creature. James W. as Baron Sean of the Cross, Fiona sidhe; artist, lover, and fighter; knows how to have a good time and also get the job done. Protector of mortals from Ravaging, and a favorite for the ducal succession. But is he seelie or unseelie? Jeff M. as Sir Daniel Sorensen, Count Dumas' pointed-eared kinain Chamberlain; also runs a fae-friendly law firm. Jeff / Skaven as Sir Niall Cornwall, an adventurous seelie sluagh knight of House Liam. Jen T. as Lady Andrea, Gwydion-affiliated troll and Captain of the Guard. Jim C. as Shayne Charge, a troll whose oath to protect a sluagh friend once made him a murder defendant. He was forced to serve for a year and a day as palace guard, and ended up staying on. Now seelie and titled, he looks to ancient Sparta for inspiration. Joe W. as Mary the Unseelie Posturepedic Nightmare Bed, a former child-eating monster, now more into tea parties. (Joe will have other NPCs as well.) Juliette R. as Eloise the Troll, Tyr's neice; a headstrong unseelie childling in a pirate hat. When her uncle was around, they both ran with a bad crowd. Since he's been gone, she has found new friends... Karen S. as Rose the Troll, former captain of the guard and ex-Baroness who renounced her title in disgust when the whole Duke Brendan/Ouchytooth thing went down. She has just returned to the duchy after long wanderings. Kevin T. as Sir "Big" Dick McGee, an eshu with a previous career in hardcore pro wrestling.. Liz "Illegal in Oz" A. (TBA) Liz R. as Countess Ava d'Intino ap Eiluned, once a highly respected and popular seelie ruler in the Kingdom of Pacifica, now an embittered exile; she refused to rescue an unseelie satyr rabble-rouser when he fell prey to Banality, because he had long been a thorn in her side. Betrothed to the late Cassidy, but her relatives stopped the wedding, and then of course he died. Regina H. (TBA) Scott "Leaps-to-Attack" C. as Sir Ashe the Grey, a houseless troll knight from the Kingdom of Ice. Steve D. as Nick Riley, an unseelie satyr and wanted criminal. Tried to help Duke Brendan bring Ouchytooth the Dragon to the waking world. Last seen mortally wounded by Tyr and Lady Jacqueline. Tricia H. as Ethel Fletcher, a prudish boggan in the Novanglian Longbow Company. Trish P. as Lady Jacqueline, a knight of House Eiluned and ferret owner. With Tyr swore to hunt Nick Riley down like a dog. Rumors have come back to Novanglia that she has risen in station and in popularity among commoners...
Arthur Crump (Ben R.), nocker curmudgeon who still managed to get along with just about everyone. Killed by parties unknown, but rumor has it that Banality-ridden human wizards were responsible. Some claim he still haunts his tools to this day. Duke Asterlan, Duke Brendan's legendary older brother who disappeared into the Dreaming on a quest for Arcadia nearly 25 years ago. Wicked famous. Your cousin's oathmate's nephew's former squire's girlfriend in Nebraska swears Asterlan and his ghostly radiant knights rescued her dad from goblins in the parking lot of the Burger King last Beltaine. Duke Brendan (Eric P.), Fiona grump who was duke of Novanglia after the disappearance of his brother Duke Asterlan. Tried to summon a dragon on Lammas Night, 1998; died. Or tried to stop the dragon from being summoned, according to official statement. But he still died. Cassidy (Kevin T.), an unseelie clurichaun, fiance of Countess Ava. The day of his wedding he sacrificed his faerie soul to prevent Ouchytooth from manifesting in the Waking World. Queen Faerilyth, House Eiluned, disputed High Queen of Concordia, wife of the missing David. Princess Lenore, House Dougal. Young sidhe wilder who was High King David's heir. Now that he's missing, many consider her, not Faerilyth, the rightful Queen of Concordia. Queen Mab, seelie sidhe grump of House Fiona and popular ruler of the Kingdom of Apples (the northeastern U.S.). Possibly the most respected monarch in Concordia. Queen Morwen, House Gwydion. Sister of the missing High King who refuses to acknowledge her sister-in-law Faerilyth's claim to the throne of Concordia. She has called for Faerilyth to resign in favor of the Princess Lenore, but there are those who urge Morwen to claim the throne for herself. The Ogre, unseelie troll grump dictator of the area around Boston before the Resurgence. Slain by Duke Asterlan. Ouchytooth (a.k.a. Odunêrodón) (Jen T.), the much-mentioned dragon. Once an ally of the ogre; defeated by Asterlan two years after the Resurgence. Often invoked to scare unruly childlings, but not otherwise thought about until Lammas Night, 1998, when a cabal of variously motivated Kithain (and even some Prodigals and mortals!) attempted to summon her into the mortal world as a real living (non-chimerical) creature. She was defeated by a chimerical Voltron owned by the Wire Man. But rumors persist that she still lives chimerically in the Dreaming... Lilith Sian, seelie sluagh grump. Ages-old caretaker of the Chi Mu freehold -- until she decided to aid in summoning the Dragon. As of Midsummer 2000, her whereabouts are unknown. Lady Sorana, niece of Duke Brendan and daughter of the famous Asterlan. Lieutenant of the guard with little tolerance for commoners. Surreal, sluagh seer whose prophecy prompted Asterlan's quest. Died in the late 70s. Tom the Troll (Mark L.), grump computer programmer who went through Chrysalis on Midsummer Night (1998). Current owner of Cassidy's bar. Fascinated with the history of the Ogre. "Tyr" Langdon (Scott Coutcher), a short bookish troll with a mighty blade; has been away on a quest with Lady Jacqueline to use same against his former comrade Nick Riley. Uncle of Eloise above. The Wire Man (Chris H.), a creature resembling a nocker made of coat-hanger wire with a penchant for collecting faerie souls. Rules the wasteland that is the Near Dreaming around Allston with his army of toys (mostly the kind that had their own cartoons in the 80s). Once kithain. An enemy of Ouchytooth and owner of the chimerical Voltron robot that, powered by Cassidy's faerie soul, defeated the dragon, but not necessarily a good guy.
Even if all of the people mentioned here show up, we could still have room for more. The sooner I know who is and how many are coming, I can finalize the plot for the day and decide if I need to solicit the help of Narrators. As of
Anyone who shows up game day without having contacted me previously will most likely be given a pre-gen to play (if you don't already have a character from 1998).
And no, I don't have your old stats.
