CHIMERICAL CREATURES and GALLAIN

- THE UNICORN (Caleb Welton) (*,S) a unicorn
- MARY, UN-SEALY POSTUREPEDIC NIGHTMARE BED (NPC, Joe Walter) (*,U) Former child-eating monster, now more into tea parties
- GLAMOUR VACUUMS (NPCs) (U) Glamour-sucking shop vacs.
- THE WIRE MAN (NPC; Chris Haddad) (U?) Resembling a nocker made of coat-hanger wire. Rules the wasteland that is the Near Dreaming around Allston with his army of toys (mostly the kind that had their own cartoons in the 80s). Once kithain. An enemy of the dragon and owner of the Voltron, but not necessarily a good guy.
- THE ISHA (NPCs) Reptilian creatures reminiscent of the Dragonkin of Arcadia. Servants of the Dragon.
- THE DUCKLINGS (NPCs) Mostly harmless baby ducklings that patrol the Public Garden.
- THE GRYPHON (NPC) A pet of Count Dumas assigned to the Palace Gates.
- THE GOLEMS (NPCs) Half dozen or so big stoney guys; Goblin Bob's contribution to the Ducal Guard.
- THE OAK DAUGHTER (NPC) A dryad in the Arboretum. On cordial terms with Baron Corwin and his court, but aggressively uninterested in Kithain politics.
- MARBLEHEAD (NPC) A crotchety old inanima. It is said if you knock thrice on any memorial statue downtown, he will come and give opaque and testy advice.

KINAIN, ENCHANTED MORTALS, or UNPLACEABLE

- SIR DANIEL SORENSEN (NPC) Count Dumas' pointed-eared kinain Chamberlain; also runs a fae-friendly law firm. I guess he wears a hat in court...
- MAGGIE (NPC; Jen Turner) Boggan kinain grump. Bernadette's younger (but not by much) sister; bartender at the Two Trees.
- PHIL LOGAN, P.I. (Nick Atlas) 40-something private detective who has a history of interaction with the fae of Boston. A chimerical voice-over follows him everywhere. He has a magic gun. What the hell is he?
- SEAMUS (NPC; Chris Haddad) Part-time employee at Cassidy's.
- RICKY HANSON (NPC) Employee at Darrow's Bookstore. An Autumn Person.
- Prof. DARROW (NPC) Missing occultist proprietor of the bookstore near Harvard Square that bore his name; apparently involved in summoning the Dragon.

OTHER KITHAIN (NPCs)

And then there will be other people you meet or hear about. Those marked with an asterisk may be available as NPCs or pre-generated characters.

 - GOBLIN BOB (*), Seelie Nocker grump. Court armorer; technically a squire of House Dougal.
- MATTHIAS SCROOP (*), Seelie Nocker grump. Bob's cousin but not his friend. Staunchly commoner Master of the Forge at Chi Mu.
- TROY POODLESBANE (NPC; Chris Haddad), Seelie Redcap Wilder. Court bard: an unusual career choice, perhaps. He is the anchorman on "Dreamline."
- JOHNNY ANVILHEAD and TODD McKEE, redcap wilders. Assistants to Mr. Poodlesbane.
- BLIND BERNADETTE, Seelie Boggan Grump. Bouncer at the Two Trees Cafe. Just because she looks like grandma doesn't mean she can't kick your ass.
- PADRAIG (*), Seelie Satyr grump. Runs the Two Trees Cafe.
- SIR JON-JON (*), Seelie pooka wilder and part-time fox, affiliated with House Fiona. Reeve and trusted advisor to the Duke.
- LADY SORANA (*), Seelie sidhe wilder of House Fiona, Brendan's niece. Lieutenant of the Guard.
- SIR CELEVRIR (*), Seelie sidhe wilder of House Fiona. Lieutenant of the Guard and Master of the Longbow Company.
- SQUIRE ROLAND AP GWYDION (*), KOSTAS THE SATYR (*), CHICKEN JOE THE POOKA (*), TROLL OLAF o' the' BOW (*), and ETHEL FLETCHER -- The Longbow Company.
- BOVIS, CLOVIS, ROCKO and SPIFF (all *)-- Gwydion squires, guards. (Probably all trolls, but if you want to play one I can be flexible.) Yes, there are a lot of guards...
- RAFFI (*) and GRUEBEL (*), seelie and unseelie (respectively) nocker wilders. Goblin Bob's journeymen and operators of the Official Duke of Novanglia's Most Glorious Furking Raygun.
- BILLY THE BOGGAN (*), seelie childling, herald.
- SQUIRE MOOG (*), Unseelie Satyr Grump. Embittered ex-guard and gossip columnist who lost an arm while defending the palace from a vicious commoner attack on Midsummer 1998.
- LILITH SIAN, Seelie sluagh grump. Ages-old caretaker of the Chi Mu freehold -- until she decided to aid in summoning the Dragon. As of Midsummer 2000, her whereabouts are unknown.
- DARK BOBBY, Unseelie sluagh wilder. Just some guy, although kind of a creepy one.
- COMMODORE FENZLEMACHT, Unseelie pooka wilder. Rather disturbing pooka, though. He *said* he was a pooka...
- ROBIN GOODFELLA (*), the Fairy Godfather, Unseelie boggan grump -- de facto ruler of the Rhode Island portions of the duchy

Historical figures &c.

- "THE OGRE" - Unseelie troll grump dictator of the area around Boston before the Resurgence. Slain by Duke Asterlan.
- DUKE ASTERLAN - Duke Brendan's legendary older brother who disappeared into the Dreaming on a quest for Arcadia a few years after the end of the Accordance War.
- SURREAL - Late sluagh seer whose prophecy prompted Asterlan's quest. Died in the late 70s.
- COUNT DONGAHUE - Modernist Liam noble, now resides in the Court of Flowers (Amsterdam), but used to live in Novanglia. His holdings were appropriated by House Eiluned when he left.
- SIR EDWARD OF HOUSE GWYDION - Seelie Troll Wilder slain during an attack on the Duke's palace by unseelie commoners, Midsummer 1998.
- OUCHYTOOTH - The much-mentioned Dragon. Once an ally of the ogre; defeated by Asterlan two years after the Resurgence. Often invoked to scare unruly childlings, but not otherwise thought about until Lammas Night, 1998, when a cabal of variously motivated Kithain (and even some Prodigals and mortals!) attempted to summon her into the mortal world as a real living (non-chimerical) creature. She was defeated by a chimerical Voltron powered by the sacrifice of Cassidy the Clurachan's faerie soul. But rumors persist that she still lives chimerically in the Dreaming...

Places of Note

- CAER ASTERLAN: a crystal castle somewhere in the vicinity of the Walden Woods, formerly known as Lenoria. Primary residence of the Duke of Novanglia. Most easily accessible by trod from the Two Trees Cafe.
- THE TWO TREES CAFE: a faerie tavern masquerading as a cafe in Central Square, Cambridge (where Cafe Liberty used to be, because I miss it). A ducal freehold open to all Kithain
- CASSIDY'S: a faerie tavern in South Boston frequented by unsavory Unseelie types. It still bears the name of its late owner.
- CHI MU: a famous mew near MIT; its secret tunnels are the envy of nockers and sluagh throughout the Kingdom of Apples. Seelie commoners only...
- THE ROSE GARDEN: a faerie glen located in the Fens; seat of Baron Corwin's court.
- BOSTON COMMON: site of another glen under the protection of Sir Gavin.
- CASTLE GREYSKULL: the Wire Man's fortress in the Near Dreaming around Allston.
- DREAM SCULPTURES: not far from the Two Trees, unfinished massive crystal standing stones appear to mortal eyes as tacky glass and brass lit sculptures inscribed with the word "Dream" in a variety of mortal languages. Constructed by a rare cooperation between Goblin Bob and the nockers of Chi Mu, these spires are meant to "deflect" the growing Banality of Central Square away from the Two Trees. Their final dedication was to take place that fateful Lammas Night in 1998. Instead they were dedicated by Queen Mab herself the following Samhain.
- ROTHMAN & ASSOCIATES: Downtown Boston branch of a national law firm owned by Sir Davis Rothman of House Eiluned, running interference between kithain and the mortal authorities. The local office is overseen by Sir Daniel the chamberlain, with input from Count Dumas.
- DARROW'S BOOKSTORE: Formerly an occult and antiquarian bookstore near Harvard Square; former place of employment for Gwyneth the sluagh and Tyr the troll. A few months after Lammas Night 1998, the place was burnt to the ground by arsonists unknown -- although witnesses have hazy and conflicting reports of seeing nondescript men in black suits entering the place earlier that night -- and Prof. Darrow has not been seen since.
- THE FLAMING TORTELLINI: small North End club, formerly the Blue Rooster; even more formerly Don Dante's Pasta Inferno. Rumored hangout of mafioso Prodigals.
- LOUIE'S CELLULAR: portable communications devices store in Somerville. Word on the street is Louie provides a 20% discount with proof of supernatural powers.
