01.07.08 POSTPONED - Pakuranga
FC v O’Carrolls FC
Game postponed...
all games cancelled this weekend.
Other news - Stu's
good fortune this season continued with his third appearance for GAY Olympic -
they of course have lost all 3 games he has appeared in. Well done WANNABE.
Talking of
wannabe’s - Graham GAY (or Kaye) - signed for Eastern Suburbs from Papatoetoe -
who clashed this weekend. Final score was 1-1. He was PLAYER OF THE
MONTH for the whole league. Well he ended the month of June by setting up his
old team’s goal with a JOBBA pass across the middle of the pitch. Well done
bud. He also clocked up $15 worth of fines too. LOL.
Also Jaime Shaw put pen to paper and signed from Eastern Suburbs. The lads
welcomed him in style with a "Tunnel of Death". He plays
left midfield - not many teams can say they have three left wingers (not many
countries can either can they, ENGLAND).
In case no one knew I won the fantasy Euro 2008 comp too. ABOUT BLOODY TIME!

26.06.08 – O’Carrolls 5 – 3 Skillz That Killz
Won 5-3 last Thursday. Were cruising at 3-0 then went to sleep for 5
minutes (all of us) and found ourselves at 3-3. Wouldn't have happened with you
on the pitch, no doubt. So three conceded won’t help the stats. Scorers were
Nev (2), James (2) and Paddy another screamer, catching up on you!! Richie
watching in the stands stood up and applauded his effort. Good come back in the
end, a game we would have been in big shock if we had lost!

24.06.08 A great idea from the
gaffer...
A stat for you too
Tommy - Stu has played in 3 games so far this year - Zamantix away, Inter at
home and Zims away. What happened in those 3 games?? [For those of you who can’t be bothered
checking the results page, we drew all three of those fixtures] Post that as a weekly statto. We could
actually have a weekly statto or quote of the week page?????
Tim Eddison
A cracking idea Timothy, I’ll try to have a new stat
for you every week from here on in. I’ll leave the quotes of the week to you,
and I’ll happily post any of Hirdy’s back catalogue!

19.06.08 – O’Carrolls 2 – 0 Hamstrung United
Won 2-0 last Thursday against Hamstrung. Good game, some strong tackles
from both teams, but we came through. Good running from all, even Nev. Jobba
made a return and slotted in the crucial first, good build up from himself and
slotted into the bottom corner. Paddy got the second, he found himself well
placed and put it in the corner. He's getting close to your indoor record isn't
he? Gibbo also deserves a mention for biting his tongue when he could have
easily flipped out. Tancy and Gus still out, Gus may struggle to get back in, I
am sure the rumours of retirement are exactly that, rumours!!

Could somebody fill me in on the name of the mystery
scorer of two goals against Scudders a few weeks ago - full name please, just
to keep the records and stats in order. And while we’re on the subject of
records and stats Jimbo me old mucker, lets look at my indoor ‘record’ of 11
goals. I thought that was a pretty decent return for a defender. I remember a
time when defenders used to defend; like in my time playing indoor for OC’s,
when we conceded an average of 0.9 goals-per-game and had kept a clean sheet in
49% of our games. I wonder what it’s been like since? Oh look, I just happen to
have that information right here. Looks like we’ve conceded an average of 1.2
goals-per-game since and kept clean sheets in just 35% of fixtures. Hmmm...
interesting. Goals schmoals - good day to you!

Supporters v O’Carrolls FC
This game was postponed due to the
involvement/non-involvement of NZCS in Round 4 of the Chatham Cup; apparently
North Shore have lodged an appeal against their disqualification from the
competition. Fixtures will be updated as soon as a new date has been confirmed
for this match.

15.06.08 6-A-SIDE RESULT
12.06.08 – O’Carrolls 2 – 0 Volcanics
Won 2-0 last Thursday, goals by myself and Nick. Nick and Gibbo stepped in
due to some absences and injuries (Gus and Tancy). Gibbo had a storming game, full
of energy and running. Matt pulled off some great saves, Nick did his job and
grabbed a goal, Paddy was full of tricks not seen on a Sunday and Nev was solid
at the back. They kept five at the back and tried for the breakaway but all
went well and a win and three points on the board were fully deserved.

07.06.08 6-A-SIDE RESULT 05.06.08 – O’Carrolls
4 – 1 HSBC AFC
Went 1-0 down, then Duncan equalised, I got the other 3 and job well done
by all. Matt stepped up between the sticks in Richie's extended absence and
injury. Solid performance and sees us through to the round where it really
counts.
