Ranged Weapons

Ion Discharge Weaponry
Ion discharge weapons are the frontline mass production weapons of Neverwinter Corps. These are used on almost every ground and space mobile suit in the Neverwinter arsenal. They are cheaper and more energy efficient than any of the other weapons Neverwinter employs. They work by creating an ionic reaction within the weapons chamber, and storing the energy that is in turn discharged. An energy bolt from this weapon causes extreme electronics disruption, and weakens shields and phase-shift based armors.

Plasma Weaponry
Plasma is the second hottest material known to man. Neverwinter employs this material in many different ways. The energy required to produce plasma is great, and thusly it is not an efficient weapon. However, the penetration through armor materials is unmatched, and many Mobile Suit Pilots choose this type of weapon over the Standardized Ion Discharge weapons. For mobile suit combat it is considered less efficient, however for ships, which have access to a greater power supply, these weapons are preferable.

Inferno Weaponry
Inferno weapons are special weapons designed for Neverwinter. These are only used on Blackguard suits. The third hottest material known to man is Inferno napalm, when it is ignited. This fuel burns hotter than anything known to man, other than plasma. However, in its un-ignited form, it is considerably more stable than plasma, and does not burn away so easily. The Radiation is immense. The lasers that are based off of this principle are much the same, taking the energy expelled from the ignition of the napalm and applying it to a concentrated stream of light, allowing a smaller beam of light (in comparison to a regular laser) to contain much more destructive power.

Ship Weapons:Inferno weapons are not used on ships.

High Impulse Weaponry
An energy weapon which fires a beam of positrons, the antimatter counterparts of electrons. When the positrons in the beam strike the electrons in the target, the particles annihilate each other in a burst of gamma rays. Thus, the positron blaster cannon literally disintegrates the matter of which its target is composed, and the resulting gamma ray radiation is also highly destructive.

Beam Weaponry
Beam weapons are based off of minovsky physics and chemistry. These were the standard weapons used until the year AC 211. These weapons utilize a compressed I-Field to create mega particles, which are then pushed out the barrel of the weapon. They are highly effective against metallic armors, but not so affective against ceramics. They are still sometimes used on Neverwinter suits.

Ship Weapons: Beam weapons are not used on ships.

Rail Weapons
These are one of the most devastating weapons systems known to man. Using high amounts of energies projected down two highly conductive rails, these weapons create a large magnetic field to push a projectile down said rails and out of the barrel at great speeds. Depending upon the size of the weapon, some of these projectiles can even achieve faster than light travel. Mobile Suit Weapons have never been clocked at light speed, though ship weapons have achieved such speeds numerous times. For Mobile Suits, the length of the barrel, and the weight of the weapon is its Achilles heel. This makes acquiring targets against smaller, faster suits a problem. However, lead reticules are not necessary, due to the speeds that the weapon fires.

Linear Weapons
These are similar to Rail Guns. They use electro magnetism to fire a projectile long distances, instead of using gunpowder. These can be converted into rifles and may be fired rapidly. They are lighter and easier to use, but in turn without a longer barrel, they do not fire with near the muzzle velocity of a Rail Gun. They work more like a mag-lev, where the projectile does not actually touch the barrel.

Gauss Weapons
Once again, this weapon is similar to Rail Guns, however these work in a completely different manner. Instead of using two straight rails. They use a single coil that runs down a barrel. This causes the projectile to spin as it works its way down the barrel. Due to this, the muzzle velocity is not as fast as a rail cannon, but the armor piercing properties are increased.

Ship Weapons: Point Defense

Mass Driver Weapons
Mass Driver Weapons are further step down from the Rail Weapons. They use a stationary electro magnet as a firing pin, and an oppositely charged projectile. A pulse is fired through the magnet and it launched the projectile. This weapon reaches higher velocities than ballistics weapons, but rarely touch the other magnetic based weapons.

Ballistics Weaponry
Ballistics Weaponry includes all powder based weaponry. These are highly ineffective against most mobile suits, but are still sometimes used, namely on export model mobile suits. They are low velocity weapons, which have trouble penetrating all but titanium and steel armors. However, no other type of weapon can seem to match these in rate of fire.
