Shield Adjustment System
This system is a defensive system, utilized mainly upon ships and mobile
armors, as opposed to mobile suits. If a unit with this system, detects
an energy source that could be possibly damaging to the suit, the specialized
array of sensors will begin making adjustments to compensate the shields
in such a way to prevent this weapon from causing damage, and will continue
to adjust according to weapons types. This system's downfall is that it
cannot prevent projectile weapons.
Anti-Missile System (AMS)
This reffers to the opperating system program that controls the Anti-Missile
Micro-Cannons. This is tied into the sensors and targeting systems. As soon
as a missile is detected in the air, this system automatically uses the
targeting systems to track the missile in the air, and directs the micro-cannons
to target it as well. Once the missile's target is confirmed the system
directs a lead reticule shot on the missiles and destroys them mid air.
Anti-Projectile System (APS)
This reffers to the opperating system program that controls the Anti-Projectile
Micro-Cannons. This is tied into the sensors and targeting systems. As soon
as a projectile is detected in the air, this system automatically uses the
targeting systems to track the projectile in the air, and directs the micro-cannons
to target it as well. Once the projectile's target is confirmed the system
directs a lead reticule shot on the projectile and fires. This has a 50%
chance of being effective. Projectiles fire much faster than missiles. Tracking
a missile is much easier. Usually, the fire disrupts the projectile enough
to send it off course of a critical area.
Omega Wing System
The Omega Wing System is only used upon the Hell's Crusader Fury. Its used
mainly for affect. Its simply a projection of white energy out of vectors
on the wing nubs. It is used more for control within the atmosphere, and
can be used as a shield which covers the entirety of the mobile suit's profile,
however, it is used mainly for affect, and causes no damage to an enemy
suit.
Phase-Shift Armor
An oscilating electro-magnetic field projected across the hull of a mobile
suit's armor via nanoscopic projectors located at the seam of every armor
plate. This field, constantly moving and constantly changing at incredible
speeds repel all conventional ballistics weapons that come into contact
with the armor, and prevent metallic weapons (including vibro-weaponry),
and conventional high explosive weaponry from coming into contact with the
mobile suit's hull, preventing any and all damage. With certain changes
in the frequency the EMF can be manipulated to bend light around the mobile
suit, making it invisible to the eye. This is known as Spectral Cloak. (NOTE:
That while this was somewhat taken from Gundam Seed, this is not an official
explaination of how this technology works. This is my own theory of how
it works. In Seed, I believe that the color change was to denote to the
viewers the down-shift from phase-shift to get the 'uh oh' when kira was
in trouble. As such, my own does not shift color.)
Trans-Phase Armor
This is virtually the same system as the Phase Shift Armor. However, where
in phase shift, the armor is constantly running when active, the Trans-Phase
is not. It activates at the moment of contact, saving battery powered energy.
This however is more expensive and does not have the cloaking ability that
the Phase Shift has. This makes it less used.
Dual-Phase Armor
Almost Identical in every way to Phase-Shift Armor, Dual-Phase however manipulates
the EMF differently to allow it to repel energy weapons to some degree,
depending upon the energy weapon used, while maintaining its ability to
prevent projectile weapons. Dual-Phase, being constantly active like Phase-Shift,
allows for the Spectral Cloak to be used.
