Armors

Antimentium
This is the standard armor found on most Neverwinter and EGA mobile suits. Its properties are indestructable by 21st century standards. This armor finds its strength from density. By being so dense, its able to withstand most weapon impacts. Outer explosions prove to be more of an annoyance to the opperator of a vehicle equipped with this armor, than the armor itself. Autocannons cause very little damage to this armor, though with continued barrages, can penetrate and cause extensive damage. The armor has proven to stand up to high velocity weaponry, but caution is advised versus these weapons. Energy dispersion is low in comparison to such metals as Trimithrillium. Energy and Heat is this armor's downfall.

Bio-Armor
Think of the skin that protects your body from every infection and protects your muscles from cuts and such. That's what this is. Its a regenerative armor in testing by Neverwinter. Why is it listed here where the world can see it? It's not particularly top secret. Neverwinter has never put much faith into bio-weaponry, hence all other organizations that mean anything, have already researched and developed such armor and other biological add ons. This takes away the impact of all standard and energy weapons. The outer layer will burn before the metallic armor is harmed, and when repairs are being made, the armor will regenerate quickly. It however, will not stop high velocity projectiles. The toughness of this skin however, is enough to withstand beam saber attacks for a longer period of time than the metallic armors.

Gundanium
Gundanium has been around for the past 15+ years. It never really acheived wide spread useage. After Opperation Meteor, the only mass produced units equipped with this armor were the Virgo and Taurus models. After those units went into mass production, grand-scale de-militarization went into effect and the earth went pacifist. In the years following armors were developed that made gundanium obsolete. The metal however is still used for such things as bunker re-enforcement, civilian ship hulls, Bulkheads, and the outer walls of the new underwater and hover cities.

Gundarium
This isnt much of an armor now days. It is still being utilized by organizations such as Harbringer. Neverwinter has found uses for it only in re-entry armors and layering it between plates of trimithrillium and other armors in shields. It has a density of titanium, but better energy disipation. Tiles of this have been created for shuttles and such, but as stated before, beyond usage as shields and small armor plates for joints, it has no mobile suit use.

Luna Titanium
The main difference between this armor and gundarium is that it's a metal and not a ceramic. Energy disipation is lower than Gundarium, and doesnt make it very suitable for re-entry tiles for shuttles and such. It does however, provide better heat disipation for the upper portions of a shuttle.

Mithrilization
This doesn't describe an actual type of armor. This is a technique used to strengthen the armor's vulnerablity to energy weapons. Bathing the armor in a certain energy will lower it's impact tolerance, but allows for better energy disipation. 100% Mithrilization will deflect all energy, but makes the armor a hard glass. This has since been made obsolete by the discovery of trimithrillium, which is near 80% mithrilized without losing density.

Nano-Fibril
This doesn't describe an actual type of armor as well. All armors have the ability to become nano-fibril. This is a technique used to strengthen armor. A plate of the armor is taken, and each molecule is ripped apart by nano-bots, and is re-assembled in a fiber plate, where each fiber is similar in make up to the fibers that make a single strand of spider web so strong, though with a stronger material than the spider uses. This is then compressed into a highly dense material. This increases energy disipation, allowing the heat and energy to distribute evenly across the surface of each strand, and vulnerablity to projectiles and impact weapons, by being more dense than a regular plate.

Neo-Titanium
Gundanium was used more than this metal. It is a metal, with a higher impact tolerance than regular titanium. This has not seen much action, except while equipped on the Serpent mobile suit. Its uses now days are no more than hurricane and tornado proof frames for housing and buildings in torando alley and along the eastern coast of the Americas and the Carribean, and maybe frames of vehicles such as Humvees and other military vehicles.

Titanium
This is an element on the periodic table of elements. It is combined with carbon to strengthen it more than it already is and change it from an alloy to a type of steel. After refining it is the material we use to build many things, from bolts for airplanes, to other things. It is not widely used on mobile suits any-longer, except maybe in a few of the nations utilizing older mobile suits.

Trimithrillium
This is the mother of all Neverwinter armors, and perhaps other non-Neveriwinter armors around the globe. It has the highest balance between Heat, Impact, and Energy disipation of all armors. Trimithrillium is a Composite armor that was built inside of a lab. It is a Ceramic Composite which allows it to disipate over 60% of the energy that engulfs it. However, as a composite it allows for a very high impact tolerance as well. In its fibrilized form, it becomes the most formidable armor around, allowing it to absorb impacts from the most powerful projectile weaponry, including the dreaded Rail Cannon.

Xirillium
This is the other armor that can withstand a direct shot from a rail launcher. This armor does not need to be Fibrilized in order for it to withstand such velocity however. It comes naturally flexable, so as the armor absorbs all impact and stops the projectile as it's puncturing. However, this armor's weakness is in it's ability to handle energy and heat. A beam-saber quickly disperses this armor.

Zeronium
This armor is the best armor used to defend against beam sabers. This armor can handle heat better than any other armor. Beam sabers have slashed over it quickly more than once and left only scratches. This is the armor that shields are constructed of.
