The Tule Bluet is a widespread blue and black damsel with more black than blue on the middle abdominal segments. The blue ring between abdominal segments 6 and 7 is very thin. Females may be pale blue, greenish or tan.

Habitat: rivers and lakes

Great Plains Range: OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, NM, CO, WY, MT, IA, MN

Flight season: May to September
