Springwater Dancer males are a vivid blue color, marked with black. Their black shoulder stripes narrow in the middle. The abdomen is marked with black, and segment 7 is almost all black. Females are pale brown or bluish. This species is very similar to the Vivid Dancer.

Habitat: seeps and springs

Great Plains Range: TX, OK, KS, NE, SD, NM, CO, IA

Flight season: June to September
