The Azure Bluet is another black and blue damsel species. The male can be thought of as black in the middle and blue on both ends. The female has even more black than the male, and her thorax is darker. She has large blue spots on the top of abdominal segment 8.

Habitat: ponds and lakes

Great Plains Range: TX, OK, KS, NE, MO, IA

Flight season: May to September
