June 14, 2001..Finally took the plunge in the pool, this heatwave is sure getting to everyone, the cool water felt real good in all this heat! Summer's here! Yay!
Yikes! We ordered too many mail-order things and their all comin' in at once, the Fed-Ex guy, the UPS guy, I'm all confused, got a damaged item, UPS guy returns--twice!---phone calls about all this, Fedex, can't find me! June 13, 2001..Gee what have I started? everybody wants to know about my new mannequin, oops did I call her that? Well here she is with honey brown hair and here's a full view
Why is it, when I am rummaging through a drawer I constantly get stabbed with a compass until I need one, then I can't find one anywhere?!...
...and thanks once again, Bill, for the gifts from Laconia, maybe someday I'll get to these rallies!
Don't know how this found me, but it's cool
June 11, 2001..She has arrived! My new harley girl has been delivered! and she's just so cute! here's a sneak preview, and another. We're gonna have such fun! My very own life-size Barbie Doll to dress up! Isn't this just too cool?? But what do I name her??????
...About Timothy McVeigh... watch the movie,"Arlington Road", nothing is ever just black and white, there's always a gray area, and who can know for sure..
June 9, 2001..Riding along, in our truck, near our home, we happen upon a motorcycle accident---the rider's on the ground, Donna, the EMT is working on him, awaiting the ambulance arrival, he's conscious but not moving and has pain, as we first arrived on the scene, my heart raced, panic set in, I'm seeing if we recognize any of the bikes and their owners, still the reality of it all set in, my eyes started to fill up, the realities some people have to face, that young man from Tremont and his family comes to mind---coincidentally, I saw a few days later his elderly grandfather died...was that coincidence or a result of the family turmoil?...I thought of the phone call some family member(s) would be getting right then, and later on our way, we passed the ambulance headed for the scene....Was he wearing protective leathers?, a DOT approved helmet?, I wonder if he'll be alright and I think how easily it could be someone I love---prayers to that man and his loved ones...Everyone drive safely, keep your wits about you and if something bad happens keep faith, HDGirlee's Website comes to mind too....God Bless.
June 7, 2001..Hmmm?, Could my stress level be related to my not riding my bike for two and a half weeks..EEKS!...What's up with that? A new bike and no riding!..And am I ever jealous! Bob & Patsy, Kevin & Les gets to go to Myrtle Beach, Bill's been to Daytona, and now goin' to Laconia! Lucky Dogs! I gotta get me a job that gives ya time off when ya need it! Like when there's the best bike rallies goin' on! For now...I'm gonna work on that stress thing...seeya...Brmmm-mm-mm!
(must be that PMS again, "Parked Motorcycle Syndrome")...Sorry, I like that one!..Gotta get my life back..seems it ran away without me....Anyone else ever feel like that?? Life's too demanding, everybody wants a morsel and not enough to go around.....

Whew!! That felt good! A much needed theraputic ride around for a couple hours. Quite interesting too, I hate to admit but in the same garage the bike's in, Dave's been cutting wood, sawdust all over da bike---I featherdust it off, thought I got it all, as the bike's warming up, I start smelling the aroma of hot sawdust, and since it was cherry wood, it really smells yummy, as I'm driving around I smell it stronger as my pipes get hotter---funny--people deliberately burn cherry firewood for the aroma...here's my bike shmokin'...saw a turkey along the interstate, a skunk scurry across the rural road, and had what I thought was my first "breakdown" in the middle of nowhere--gotta get me that cell phone. bike's sputterin' here & there, I'm thinking I fouled the plug, even though it's just been serviced, throttle's not responding well, finally as I have the clutch in it stalls, I pull over try to start, it won't! sputterin', spittin', DUH! Finally, even though I only used 3.5 of my 4.9 gal tank of gas, I hit the reserve, runs! .. Yea! Sheesh! Did I feel dumb! but also relieved! headed to the nearest gas station real fast...After fillin' her up, yup only 3.4 gal used, she runs real great! I'm back in business! and I'm riding great today....: )
June 6, 2001...Somedays I really do think I'm losing my mind, doesn't everyone once in awhile? Oops! Did I say that outloud?..."Help! I've lost my mind and I can't find it!..."Oh there it is! Way in the back of the closet...sheesh!, I knew I shoulda cleaned out that closet sooner...
This inspired me! something I always wanted to do, always talked about and just wasn't brave enough to do, well before this year is up, I'm gonna! I Lovefaux paux painting, always have, especially brilliant, happy colors...
June 5, 2001...either I've been busy, lazy, or just plain old "thought-less", what do you think?
June 2, 2001...A nice "jeep" ride to Lewis Lumberyard open house, a great route for a bike ride sometime..nice flowing rural roads...a nice breakfast stop (except for those loud-mouth river rats..hehe) inspires an idea I've had for so-o-o long, I just gotta do it!
June 1, 2001...."It's a Girl!".., I can't wait to hear all about her! Congrats to the new parents and grandparents..What a wonderful gift & a blessing! : )
June and it's br-r-r cold! No fair!!!
How'd that happen?..Carl gets a plug in the news...even though he's not in the "top ten" of the class!...:
May 31, 2001...Every new beginning is the start of another days end...Happy Graduation Day Carl!
May 30, 2001...Of course with all the bleary weekend weather, we just had to rent a few movies---my reviews---"American Pschyo", totally bizarre, disturbing, absolutely SKIP it! "Arlington Road"...Great! but also disturbing, in a "don't hide your head in the sand" kinda way--I can't say any more....No, We didn't see Pearl Harbor yet....Channel surfing--yes, I'm the queen of the remote around here, when I actually do watch television, I stumbled upon the newest, lowest reality tv--"Cheaters", now c'mon, we all got extended families, sheesh! The people on the show were so pitiful, and I thought "surprise wedding" was bad....
Now besides the ETON system, Ergonomics is the big issue at the workplace, gosh things are gonna get interesting....Certain types are way too resistant to change, and this ain't gonna be easy!
My thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of the young man killed in the motorcycle accident, along Rt 125, much too young to leave, still so much to do....
May 29, 2001..Gosh that four day weekend went by in the wink of an eye! Back to the workplace and it's all a blurr!..oops! got a spec'o'somethin' in my ol' eye!...; )
A damp, dreary weekend, with the exception of yesterday, and not a single bike ride : (..We did manage to back them out of the garage long enough for me to take these two two photos and to clean out the garage a little...(oops! was that a hiccup, or what!?!)
May 28, 2001...A very solemn and touching Memorial Service. Members of the Legion, and the Legion Auxillary, have had this service in the beautiful valley for as long as I remember. The historic Old White Church is a perfect setting and built in such a beautiful place. Hearing those real guns fire out, followed by taps on the bugle is so moving. The quiet of the valley is so prominent right then. A prayer of thanks for all those that served, and gave for freedom...
May 22, 2001...I've heard of the decimal system, the byte system, the binary system, circulatory system, the **** system, yadda, yadda, yadda.... now I need to find out about the ETON system, sounds bizarre to me, looks bizarre too!!
My pc is running so-o-o smoothly, thanx Daryl! I'm glad I didn't throw it out the window afterall! : )
May 21, 2001...This story brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it, seems like there may be a silver lining to all dark clouds...what doesn't show is the beautiful picture of Kathy & Robert on their harley parked on the beach, with the scenic ocean waves behind them--a beautiful memory!
..I gotta remember about taking in stray puppies & kittens, they all need a home but I can't take care of them all...
May 20, 2001...Geisinger Bike Run was lotsa fun, the route on the map were roads we travel quite often, interstate 80, 81, 924, so we took the more scenic 93, and Scotch Valley Road, Buck Mt, and back to Catawissa, lotsa bikes! Lotsa bikes! Mr. D had a guest passenger, we met a few new friends, seen a few old...missed seein' a few too, soon as I get the glitches out of my puter (which hopefully will be real soon--thanx Daryl!) I'll have some photos. A stop for me & Dave at Catawissa's Cracker Barrel, and a nice ride home...NOW it can RAIN all week! I'm a happy gal, gotta get those seeds a-sprouting too! back to the weekday grind~~~~.
May 19, 2001...An early breakfast ride, perfect weather, easy to spend the day bummin on a bike...but too much to do's:"Pug-noses in the pool!, Pug-noses in the pool!--Oh Dear what do we do? with all the pug-noses floatin' in the pool~~~~!"...
May 18, 2001..Early home and my sweetie's still working..darn! Nice to have a few moments to take a deep breathe, relax, and enjoy the quiet...Seems I may be seeing Aerosmith in concert once more, by default, anyway, still undecided, as it turns out I am second runner-up or is that second banana? or second best, anyways if the first choice friend can't go, I'm in! : )
I take issue with the title of a book I saw featured on Oprah yesterday, "Surrendering to Marriage", gee I know there are some battles, but I didn't think we had to wave a white flag and concede!...Anyways I understood the concept of what they were trying to get across but the title made me cringe...I guess I should reserve judgement until I actually read the book, BUT no one has to accept boring! The couple that rides harleys together never gets boring! :
Prayers and a safe return to all our friends that have traveled to Myrtle Beach for Bike Week! Maybe Seeya Sunday, Bobalou!..
May 17, 2001..."Rainmaker, Rainmaker, the land is parched and dry, (well not quite yet...) Rainmaker, rainmaker, make the rain fall from the sky~~~~"... we need some rain real soon for a good fall harvest, but how 'bout rain thru the night and sun in the day, especially when we plan to ride~~~~!...
Okay it's official, Cindy the detail girl at Schaeffer's says Easy-Off oven cleaner does indeed get off the melted rubber from your boot heels on your chrome pipes, the cold method type, ya gotta rub it awhile, but it does work, as for the glue from stickers, Mr. Bill, maybe tar & bug remover but other than that Mr. D's perplexed as well, did ya try the nailpolish remover??? just might work...: )
May 16, 2001...I got the software, now I need the courage to just DO IT! How's come Hazleton is only 17 miles or so away and I go on my bike to pick some thing up there and end up putting 70miles on my bike? How'd that happen?..hehe...
I keep saying how great the gas mileage is with a motorcycle, but I end up taking the long way home and going three times the miles :
May 15, 2001...Little by little this harley gal is comin' out of the closet (hehe) today I arrive at our township voting poll place on my bike...brmm! brmm!..Okay, I was on my way to a HOG meeting so what so ya expect?..anyways seems my ears were ringin' the rest of the night! Was that the Harley or CommFund biz??
May 14, 2001...If ya plan to wipe out your computer, reformat it and start over, just what do ya save? got me thinking, what will I wish I had saved, or what will I forget and regret later? sometimes things are so far gone ya gotta start all over, wipe the slate clean, start anew...where do ya begin? you become attached to the old ways but gotta get used to new...always changes, gotta adjust...Do I really stress too much? I know I do, but I can't change some things..some things about me are never gonna change...
May 13, 2001...Happy Mother's Day to all those special ladies...a special prayer & wish to a special Mommy-to-be (for a third time) for a happy, healthy delivery soon, God Bless!
I am the luckiest Mom!
...And "Break a leg" to my two young 'uns for the third performance this weekend of "OKLAHOMA!", I am very proud! YE-HAW!
a sad moment at my old homestead, like I said some memories ya just gotta struggle to keep the way they once were no matter how things may change.
May 12, 2001...I attend two performances of "Oklahoma" and forget my camera for both of them! Darn!..Oh well some memories ya gotta save in your personal memory bank, treasured forever...
May 11, 2001..papers been signed, deadlines been met, more wheels a-rollin, changes unfoldin'...
Geisinger Motorcycle ride is happening soon, everybody's bike ready???
May 10, 2001...channel surfing here (for a change) and I stumble on more "reality" tv, "surprise wedding", all these women surprise the men they love by proposing on national tv, oh my-how embarrasing!, how could you reveal so much in national television? besides the privacy thing, take the chance of rejection, worse yet, not be rejected but for the wrong reasons...what has television come to? Again, I want make believe, with a plot, character development, a climax, and an ending, call me old fashioned...reality tv is becoming hype and entertainment and not reality anymore...and I still haven't mentioned the new idea for reality tv comin' up, cheating spouses caught on tape! That one really burns me up! Aside from all the estranged revenge-seeking distraught ex-lovers, aren't their innocent family members & children who might be victims of this kind of "reality"? sheesh....
May 9, 2001...how easy a misunderstanding can go astray, much too easily..I am so very blessed by the people around me, never take those dear for granted, never.
while I am at Schaeffer's waiting on my bike service, I see this interesting newpaper article and a related story.
May 8, 2001...A phone call with semi-good news, I just love those kinda calls!...Some of the wheels seem to be fallin' in place, some need the lugs tightened...1000 mile checkup for my bike tomorrow...oops I'm over 1200, not to worry, I've changed the oil at 450...All by myself even! WooHoo! Hope all checks out A-OK!
PS, by the way--Bill & Cathy, ya really should have skipped out with me & Mr. D Friday, however I did hear you had a nice evening ride, what a great riding night! keep the shiny side up, rubber side down, Ride Safe!
May 7, 2001...Why do some people think it's peculiar that I have always wanted a mannequin to dress up and display in my house?? Why it would be right up there with the "gong", the huge school bell in my yard, the Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein Madame Alexander dolls, maybe the collection of chimes in my chime tree...I dunno, ya just gotta keep things interesting and people guessing...and even those I didn't get the bid on that lovely lady on EBAY I'm not givin' up...maybe I'll even find a harley dude yet, all these guy mannequin's look like from "the GAP"...sheesh! life size barbie dolls for when ya never grow up! :
May 6, 2001...I knew the lesson about paint samples and small color swatches, ya know how they look different on a whole wall?, BUT no one warned me about the furniture in the huge showroom looking like it will fit in YOUR empty room at home, well DON'T BELIEVE IT! Ya gotta measure! I learned the hard way..& moving a computer takes all day!..another adjustment to change, gosh am I becoming a senior citizen already???
May 5, 2001...Senior Prom, a memorable night for many..many worried parents too, God Bless and watch over these young people. And as a friend recently said, "Of course have fun but always remember to run things through the common sense filter."
Carl & Shawna, dressed for the occasion, and ready to leave.
Dad sure LOVES his AMAZING new toy!..and it's not even Harley-anything....
Gosh near 90 degrees yesterday and today feels like the big chill! Brr-r! Talk of frost in the morning, all those blossoms..*sigh*
Ride to Woolrich
May 4, 2001...(Sung to that Monica Song tune...)..A little bit-a-workin', A little bit a pay, A good day to sneak out, A good day to play, A little bit of rakin', leaves gone away, save the work for 'morrow, it ain't goin' away,--- Oh-Be-Dobie-La-La, Yea-Yea-Yay, Little bit of loafin' keeps the grumpies away~~~~!.....:
Gotta be disiplined and get the work done, BUT ya gotta enjoy life too, who knows what tomorrow may bring, and everything may change....
A real nice spring ride on a hot, hot spring day...Apple blossoms in an orchard look so promising, the view everywhere is breathtaking! Finally I can smell the spring blossoms...MMM...
I'm minding my business, enjoying the curves in the uphill windy Ringtown Mt Road, well on my own side, smiling, happy, and a fast moving truck comes barreling by and just misses hitting me! inches away even! Good thing my Harley Angel was with me, once again...
May 3, 2001...A week of riding to work, makes all the stresses so much more bearable!...and doesn't everybody want a Harley!?...hehe..: thanks!
Purely coincidental, I meet someone that knows someone dear from my past, someone I have missed, someone I thought was long gone, he says he's doing well and sees him often, brought a tear to my eye to hear that, if only I knew for sure....Why is it, the people we love most are often those that hurt us most?..a flood of memories that seem a lifetime ago,...I miss you, Dad.
May 2, 2001...Justine's getting quite proficient at this driving around, why, I can ALMOST sit back and just enjoy the ride! : -o
Don't ya think a good idea would be for hairdressers to make house calls at workplaces during people's lunches or whatever, for people too busy working to make an appointment...seems like such a task sometimes...and this darn helmet hair! *winks*
May 1, 2001...Well now I know what a "display adapter" for a monitor is..Sheesh!..I'm back to the Win98 or WinME debate...Any real users out there have a real opinion?
Some people debate the gender difference thing, like boys will be boys, girls do the girlie thing, and gosh darn, I sure believe in exceptions to the rule but you can't deny those very noticeable differences between Mars & Venus, all the mothers at work are talking about their daughters preparation for Senior Prom, (Holy Cow!..glad i missed my prom, dyed shoes, $$$dresses, perfect flowers--EGADS!) all the mothers of boys don't know a thing and either do the boys! They're not too concerned! and sure haven't told Mom a thing... If it were back yard wrestling I'd bet they'd know!..I think we ladies better learn to think like a man occasionally and see the world through their eyes! What an eye-opener! EEKS!! nevermind....
April 30, 2001...Sure took alot longer to squeeze out 1000miles on my Dyna, than the 6500 on my Sporty in 6months!..Alas,summer's just beginning...
April 29, 2001...A red-letter day once again, a one year anniversary for sure, a day that turned my life around! ...A year ago today I got my first HARLEY!..and I've never been the same! :-)..I did love my sporty..hope she's doin' alright...
