Nov. 23, 2000...HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL!!!..enjoy the day with family & friends, or at least enjoy the day off of work! : )...have a toast to friendships, love, and all that is important and remember just what that truly is....I am so very blessed!
..watch for Barry & Son in the Macy's parade..I think Barry's the "M" and the son's in the sleigh with Santa...Gee hope it's not like last night's episode of Spin City...hehe..enjoy your turkey!
Nov. 20, 2000 It was bound to happen!....We knew.
...the time was near and yet---
When it happened we were surprised...
...amazed,
in awe.....
word spread quickly...
..and we all looked....
Nov. 19, 2000...I'm still learning, and got miles to go, but if I had only ridden on straight, smooth pavement I would have never learned to ride very well...the unepected keeps us on our toes and the bumps on the way cultivate resisilence...
Nov. 18, 2000...It hasn't taken long, already there's some changes on my new bike. Take a look!
Dad's 69th birthday...
Nov. 17, 2000...waiting, waiting, waiting, a day of waiting makes for a long, long day....and no explanation makes it worse!...finally the wait is over, they complete the task at hand and hopefully the battle with the kidney stone is over--and our side won! : )
Congrats to my sister, Susan, inducted in the Schuylkill County Bar Association!
Nov. 16, 2000..When life throws a curve, let off the brakes, avoid shifting gears, and accelerate steadily.
Nov. 15, 2000...Well, here's pics of my ride home with my new Lowrider. Gee, I kept hearing stories from these people who got their bikes in the winter and how they had to sit and look at them for a few months waiting for riding weather...*sigh*...gonna be a long winter..but Hey! it only costs $24.50 a day to rent an enclosed u-haul trailor and head south! (and I got a long weekend coming! : ) ...makes me think I'd hate to be a rider in say, Alaska, (B-r-r-r!!) or Seattle, where they say it always rains....: (
oh yea! Remember that lady with the volatile mashed potatoes? they weren't just ordinary mashed potatoes, they were atop shepherd's pie...How Quaint! YIKES!....
Nov. 14, 2000...I know this isn't funny but it sorta is, I just heard on the morning news a woman in Philadelphia was convicted of trying to put poison in her husband's mashed potatoes..EEKS!..yup that's what they said, and what's more her statement was she used "poor judgement". I'll say!...Sheesh!
Nov. 13, 2000...Gee no fair to get a new Harley and snow flurries and colder weather are predicted..oh well, I knew this, but I'll be a happy gal in Spring! : )..a happy day today, all shmiles, bursting with this news and no one to tell...who understands?...no one I work with that's for sure!..."a motorcycle is a motorcycle and what does a gal want with one anyway??!!"..but when ya take a spin, well then ya know---Yep! that "real man" feeling, hehe, ; ) Thanks Quirky!
..then *Poof*! Wake up!... real life calls, more x-rays, appointments, Open House at school (guess I'll leave the bike at home--hehe), rescheduling guitar lessons, haircuts, laundry, housework, "Work" and all that--oops gotta fit an aerobic work-out in there somewhere! eeks!....But Life is Good! : )
Nov. 12, 2000...After more than a year, the homestead had been dark, lifeless, empty,...in mourning.
Suddenly, there is activity, movement, lights on late at night, there is life again...a mixed event, a rebirth and yet...
We must be ready to let go... it's difficult....the things we depend on, the things we know as being constant, the things we love,...it's all an adjustment, and those things near & dear in our hearts we will have, ALWAYS & FOREVER, nothing can take them away....
harder still is the fact that some changes are not our decisions, they are decisions made for us, fate, destiny, maybe God decides...maybe not...
Change is constant, change is natural, change is growth........Love & Memories are forever....
I hope no one cuts down the chestnut trees....
and I hope my Sporty finds a new owner that loves her like I do...
Nov. 11, 2000...(after 3PM)..I did it! I got my new DynaLowrider, rode it home, and I LOVE IT!!..it's all they promised & more, the best of both worlds: the smooth tour bike ride with the zip and cornering of a sporty. I'm sure I'll have no trouble "bonding" with this baby....all those worries for nothing!...I'm a happy harley gal! : )
Nov. 11, 2000...(11:AM)..Today's the big D-day: Di's Dyna Day! Am I nervous? YES!, Am I Scared? YES! Am I excited? YES!...it's a very, chilly, gray, damp day---not perfect for riding home a new Harley, but I gotta do what I gotta do! Seems like it should be a perfect day for such a thing---don't ya think??
I'm feeling really mixed about all this--the timing not perfect, but ya gotta seize the opportunity when it presents itself, right?..I sure loved my hugger, I'm feeling mixed about that, and there's that thing about paying years of dues---like this should have been a lifetime dream all along--well maybe it was, I just hadn't discovered it yet...I slept very little last night, went to work for 5:30am, weathers crappy, but oh well...got this back ache and I'm scared as all heck..."I CAN DO THIS!" : )
Nov. 10, 2000...a good friend sent this to me, these email thingies are often overdone, but this one was special, I was inspired to add to it...thanks Jewel.
Nov. 9, 2000...Happy b-day to Michalene and Kay...Celebrate, but Be Good, ladies! : )
...a gray day, sunny skies are all gone, the threat of rain at any moment, it definitely affects the mood, they're actually calling for heavy, steady downpours....*sigh*..gotta make an extra effort...days are shorter, nights are longer, tis the season....
Nov. 8, 2000...Gosh, who would have thought this "ho-hum" election, with no truly voteable candidates, would make history?!!...and everybody--or a good many more than usual---came out to be a part of it!..go figure!..and how 'bout those senior citizens in Florida confusing things further?? that figures too..
"When you're in love, your eyes light up, your face lights up--and apparently, so do four tiny bits of your brain."..only FOUR?!..: ) ..according to Mr Andreas Bartels of University College London, he presented this research to the Society for Neuroscience. Now what do ya supose they're gonna do with that info? I just have to wonder...
