March 17, 2000...Happy St. Patrick's Day!..Here's the facts, just the facts, Mam!.(okay I didn't write this, sorry to burst anyone's green bubbles--hehe) I always wondered just what was that blarney stone anyway, bal-arney?? You have to admit, a celebration with leprechauns, shamrocks, lots of Irish Whiskey or green beer is a bit suspicious...especially shrouded with religious connotation
Just have to re-iterate, how important to tell someone they're doing a GREAT job! So easily we forget just how important that pat on the back is and the many forms it may come in...no matter what it is they do wonderful! Everyone has a talent! Everyone!! Don't forget!!!

Happy Birthday to ZAK, who's 6, and my brother Michael, who's 41 going on ummm 16? hehe, anyways, I didn't forget ya's, but I did forget the two Bob's on March 13th, a belated birthday wish to those guys. Hey, i just found out the HTML "working group", web site comes from Reston, VA, imagine that, a little ol' place like that? anyway apparently these tech people discuss and agree on guidelines to follow in html, isn't that interesting? continually updating and making changes but having to agree on what's best for all...HTML INFO
March 15, 2000...Practice makes perfect, thats all I can say, and do I ever need practice with this bike riding! But I am improving, went more than 15 miles today on real roads, hehe!
Have to say it once more---it's real hard to work when you have one foot out the door (as well as your mind wandering out the door too) What another beautiful day and my first crocus are blooming, MMM! It's wonderful to feel alive!

When is something nothing, and nothing something, and what is an easy way to tell?...how do you know if something needs fixin if your not sure its really broken?
March 13, 2000...OOO--SHUDDER!!! I'm not TOO weird or anything (hehe) but today, at work, EVERYBODY was sick in some sort of way or another. Now I am sympathetic and hope everyone gets well soon, but--- I'm getting a little paranoid, being in a place with no windows, little air circulating, and everybody going past me sneezes, coughs, has no voice, or is lookin awful pale and ready to barf! YIKES! Anyway I just get thinkin' maybe I'm exaggerating and the cleaning woman comes by tellin me about the barfing in the bathroom..SHUDDERS AGAIN!...I'm goin' to wash my hands, eat a clove of garlic, and down a bottle of Vitamin C.
March 12, 2000...The Show was GREAT!!, the Keswick Theater was great! a beautiful restored historical old-time theater, I really love Bruce Cockburn's music, his lyrics & guitar playing MM-MM-MM! For all that intricate guitar playing he never uses a pick, imagine that, we were about 8 feet from the stage and I even took pictures! woohoo! Favorites for the night, "Pacing the Cage", "Live on My Mind" mmm! love that song, chilling, mesmerizing!...and of course "They call it Democracy" and alot of the songs from the new CD which I am liking better the more I listen.

March 11, 2000...Bruce Cockburn TONIGHT! third row, center stage! WooWoo! Sold-Out show at the Keswick Theater, Glenside, Pa (suburbs of Philly). I just love Bruce's music! Hopefully this crazy weather will cooperate for traveling.
This week commemmorates 88 years of Girl Scouting, [March 12, 1912] various activities are planned, many mall shows and cookie sales. I enjoyed my years as a scout leader and have learned alot about myself and others in that time. It is so rewarding to hear a young lady (yes many have grown up!) comment about the good memories they also have of that time. Thanks! Here's a preview.
March 10, 2000...Riding Lesson #5 and I actually shifted to 6th gear! Woohoo! It felt great and I'm getting over the fear of the bike. Now I need to work on turning and those figure eights..hehe..I just LOVE this!!
March 9, 2000...Early March high 70's and I got my shorts on! WooWoo!..only now they say maybe snow on the weekend, guess the party's over, for now...Darn!
Well a certain girl oughta be pretty darn happy because she got her very own first guitar...a 2000 model at that! "Galactic Purple", Fender Squire, sheesh, kids today are spoiled rotten..hehe...hey here's where we bought it, and where she takes lessons. Pictures of the happy gal and her new strummer here.
March 8, 2000..."reflection" when you look in a mirror what do you see? a face? a person? a personality? a stranger? lenten season a time for reflection and penitence, discipline and humility.

Mar. 7, 2000...Glorious Weather! It just keeps getting better and better. I think it's that expectations thing again---- Makes ya feel like hoppin' in the car and takin' a long road trip! I tried on the bike but I still need assistance, Darn! oh well, can't even get out of my bumpy on-the-hill driveway, plopped it over, almost couldn't get it up, gas leaking all over, I smell like a grease monkey, but I'm not upset, no sir-reee--- I'm a happy gal!..hehe
...just to update, since then, bro-in-law gave me assistance and I got goin-- into third gear even, sooo--there's still hope, thanks Paul!
Mar. 6, 2000...Lots on my mind today, like for instance the weather is BEAUTIFUL--it's getting better and better, makes ya miss the ones ya love even more, again, Spring Fever I guess. "Time & distance makes no difference in the cellestial of affairs", Christine's lyrics...and speaking of great music, I'm almost forgetting that this weekend is the Bruce Cockburn Concert! WooHoo!! Third row, center stage seats! double WooHoo!..so much has been happening I have been too busy to get psyched about it, better get my Bruce CD playin'...
More news about "What's Your Name", Carl Joseph, seems there's an article in the National Examiner (hehe) about him with a picture of some local people as well, not only that, but a few are my co-workers! imagine that! they even mention Mahanoy City!...City Shirt Co-workers in the National Examiner, right up there with OJ Simpson and the Kennedy Icon's...Gosh!..I'm flabberghasted!!..hehe

Mar. 4, 2000...WooWoo! I actually really rode by myself today, maybe only in a parking lot, and maybe only in first gear, but I DID IT! YAYYY!!...There is hope...hehe.
Mar. 3, 2000...it is my nature to see goodness in people, I feel strongly about that, I always have, it's "Just ME", maybe that is why it bothers me SOOO much that there are people in the world that find their happiness in other people's misfortune, ya know the type?...you can almost see that snickering smile, when they see you are disappointed about something, That is something I just don't get, I don't!...

Feb. 29, 2000...HAPPY LEAP YEAR(?)!...Well the computer in my jeep is Y2K compliant--but apparently doesn't understand a leap year---the time/date display on my dashboard says March 1st, 2000...Sheesh!
Feb. 28, 2000...I have met such a variety of people throughout my life that have made an impression on me and I have to say each one has some sort of gift or talent that makes them so unique, sometimes its a subtle quality that you might not notice at first and then sometimes it's something so charismatic that everyone notices, we've all been given these gifts, take the time to notice and make the time to share, how awesome to have the ability to make someone smile, or to see the ordinary as extrodinary or to visualize what is familar as something new and exciting ...if we don't attempt to notice we're all just sleepwalking through life...WAKE UP!
Feb. 27, 2000...the movie "American Beauty"...I liked it, it was very bizarre, made me laff out loud, the ending, well, ummm, ya have to see for yourself, all the actors were excellent and the directing, very creative stuff, if I had taken my mother I would have been embarrassed...enough said?
Feb. 26, 2000...Gosh they'll give anyone in PA a motorcycle learner's permit--(well if you're a licensed driver already)---I got mine, now all I have to do is take the course, not get hurt, and ummmm RIDE!!!--YAY!!

KUDOS to Carlos Santana for finally getting the recognition he deserves! Eight Grammys! He has always been a talented guitarist and now pop mainstream has noticed. My favorite album," Moonflower ", I especially like the instrumentals; "Flor D'luna" and "Europia", and the song "I'll be Waiting"..waiting just for you~~~!...gosh that's an old album--1977! I must be old too!....naaahhhh....
St. John's, Ringtown having their Annual Talent & Dessert Night, Sunday Evening at 6:30, gosh what surprises might there be this time???? Spice Girls (or Boys?), Whip cream pies in the face, hmmmmm, see you there....

Don't ya just hate when your watch stops for no apparent reason and ya don't catch on right away???...Yesterday I was doing errands, thinking I was making such good time, kept lookin' at my watch, thinkin it barely seems to be movin'--WELL IT WASN'T!! jumpin jeepers! then I turned out late! EEKS...Often I wish I could literally stop time,-at least for a little while, doesn't everyone????
Feb. 23, 2000...Gosh another warm day---saw a bike out today, looked like a Heritage--was nice seeing a bike in Februrary but, I got thinking of all the salt on the roads and all the nice chrome I saw on it...YIKES!...Sure hope he doesn't mind polishing...

...just have to make this comment---yesterday,I went blue jeans shopping----YIKES!--how confusing!..it's hard enough getting jeans to fit but now they have, regular fit, relaxed fit, classic, stretch, petite, long, boy cut, low rise, flared, tapered, straight cut, boot cut, and that's not all!! Whew! I got confused just looking! Nothing's Simple!!
Feb. 20, 2000...Wow! Only six months has passed since our church "Town Social" and now planning begins again!..How fast six months flys by when yer havin' so much fun!!!
On that note, we must make each moment count, every second, every memory, because when it's all said and done, that's all we have left, our memories---make'em count!

Darn!..check out"Dumb Laws" here and on my useful links....and those people in Danville, PA. this is on the city law there: "All fire hydrants must be checked one hour before all fires"...they must have a clairvoyant on the city payroll...sheesh!

Feb. 18, 2000...Just a reminder, St. John's ROCK Youth Group of Ringtown are having various fundraisers to raise money for their trip to the National Youth Gathering in St. Louis Missouri this summer, please support their efforts. First up, a breakfast after church services this Sunday, Feb. 20 and again Sunday, March 5. Hope to see you there...also planned are car washes and a spaghetti supper. Thanks for your support!
Feb. 17, 2000...Just have to say, what happened to all those "Bridge freezes before road surface" signs?....they were so prominent before and they have disappeared...so what's changed?..the bridge? the climate? what?...will the bridge still freeze before the road surface?...gosh and there's bad weather predicted AGAIN!!...those signs always made me nervous anyway.
..okay, I figure it's budget cuts, in the order of importance as far as road signs go, those iced bridge warning signs seem redundant, don't ya think?

Feb. 8, 2000...Well considering "What's Your Name", the gospel-preaching nomad, has made national news I guess I can't ignore him any longer....Seems this barefoot "Jesus-lookalike" philosopher has gotten alot of the people's attention in this area and now has made The Washington Post and Philadelphia Inquirer national newspapers...Supposedly ABC news is sending a news crew to Hazleton tomorrow evening to film him at the Sacred Heart Shrine. Sheesh!...not being offensive (I hope) just my opinion...Now--- motorcycles, eccentric art, the best music in the world!, lasting memories, peewee's playhouse, the value of a good giggle fit--the enchanting smell of the fresh air on a cool, crisp frosty morning---the magic hug of a child----and the smile from a stranger for no reason at all except maybe you smiled at them----now those things I get!!! : )
....sorry but I just loved Peewee's playhouse, I did!!...any other closet fans out there???....he actually won a children's award for that show...too bad for Paul Reuben's poor judgement, I loved PeeWee....I miss him : (

Jan. 28, 2000...In case anyone's forgotten--(I have)-- In PA if you have a vehicle accident, no one hurt, but the car is disabled and there is property damage, you MUST file a police report, regardless if no one is hurt or no other vehicles involved...it's the LAW....looks like another one of those weekends.....*sigh*...nothing unfixable, thank goodness...

Jan. 23, 2000..Well I liked it sooooo much I went to see "Toy Story 2" again---I chuckled just as much, this time the kiddies had me beat--well one particular one anyway--she laughed and talked back to the toys through the whole movie!...The funny "bloopers" at the end were hilarious--something new..(now I know computer generated animated images really don't make mistakes or pull pranks but....)

Jan. 9, 2000...Just to keep all informed--I had my first riding lesson today! I NOW know where the "kill" button is!..No seriously, I only "plopped" twice, and I say plop because I was coasting sooo slow that me & the bike just plopped over instead of falling--as i yelled "HELP!!!--"..it was funny!..anyway I have been pushing it around and have been getting used to it as they say ya should so..oh and I can get it back up after spilling, found that out too! hehe...Stay tuned! Here's pics.

Jan. 7, 2000...Wow! I finally made it to the York HD plant tour!...It was so-oooo Cool!!...AND on the way home stopped at White's HD and bought a used Honda Shadow (trade-in) for me to learn on! Yippee!! I'm a really gonna do it!!!..we're bringing it home tomorrow!...WooHoo!!! What an exciting day!!!

...I usually wear contact lenses (ut-oh secrets out!) anyway, try cookin with a really hot oven with glasses on!!! Everytime you open the oven door to check how it's cookin, your glasses steam up and ya can't see!! sheesh! any cook wearing glasses has to know that, but gosh how ya suposed to get a look at what's cookin????!!!I kept tryin' and kept getting steamed.. : )
