Nov. 7, 2000...Gee, Today's election Day, a Presidential Election at that, Dave gets his "Extracorporeal Shock-Wave Lithotripsy" (ESWL) treatment, and post-procedure precautions say, "for the first 24 hours do not drink alcohol, drive a car, operate machinery, or make any major decisions." Guess his vote may not count, I think that counts as a major decision--hehe...So-o-o who ya gonna vote for???...a joke, only a joke, can you really imagine Ralph Nader as President???? He would surely take care of government wasteful spending and stuff like that...just be sure to V-O-T-E!
Nov. 6, 2000...Here's a peek at my new "baby", although she's not so teeny as my hugger! She sure is cute!... This was a great pic of the bike, bad pic of me : �
Tommorrow's the big day, Mr D gets his Lithotripsy Procedure, prayers that all goes well and this is taken care of once & for all!! Amen

I pride myself in not being judgemental, but I still have my strong opinions,
I'm all for happy endings, but I want happiness for ALL,
I'm not a right or wrong kinda person, I'm more like the gray in between.
As impatient as I have always been known to be, I must trust in time to take care of things.
We can set the wheels in motion, but we must wait until life turns full circle.
New beginnings gotta start at the beginning, and we gotta wipe the slate clean....
Nov. 5, 2000...Guess I can't be HuggerDi anymore, after next week, how 'bout DynaDi, LowriderDee, HDLowriderDi, DynaLowriderDi, (too long)..hmmmm...any suggestions??..gosh, sure hope I can handle this new "baby"!...
I'm takin good care of my other baby and saying prayers that he'll soon feel better, hoping next week's procedure will take care of things and all will be happy here again...ya gotta appreciate when all is well, especially with your health, much too easy to take for granted feeling well or just life being "average". Average, peaceful, quiet, is GREAT! : )
What an interesting analogy, a kidney stone is a pearl!, "This is
similar to a piece of sand in an oyster. The sand is an irritant and the oyster coats
the sand particle - and a pearl is formed!" I don't think Dave will appreciate that analogy! : (
PS..I was so glad to find out it wasn't Lonnie's new bike that got "squished"...and thanks for the invite to the Philly Toy Run, Kevin, hopefully next year....Safe Riding!
Nov. 4, 2000...I get a microwave type food thing out of the vending machine at work this morning, rip the packaging off and read the back while I'm waiting and it says, "eating instructions"...a-a? wait a minute, I can figure THAT out! hmmm?...scratching my head, thinking now what do ya supose that's about and then I realize the "h" is where the crease in the wrapper is, not visible, "HEATING INSTRUCTIONS"...OH, I get it! That's different, nevermind.
Nov. 3, 2000...EEKS!!! Did I say ALL, including Dave, was well in this household????..was I ever wrong!....
Nineteen Years ago, Dave had second degree burns on 26% of his body, hospitalized in the burn unit for 30 days, and his thought for today is, "This darn pea size kidney stone floating around is a heck of alot more painful!"... especially since they inserted that spring type thing to catch it if it tries to go where it's not suposed to, sheesh! technology today, oh yea and the doctor seemed real excited to ultrasonically "blow it up" next week, almost like looking forward to a video game strategy....(good to see someone who LOVES their work..hehe) at least we finally know what the real problem is, amazing how easy x-rays can be misread....and this is after doctor #3! First diagnosis was stomach flu, cause well ya know---it's goin' around.....SHEESH!!!....
Oops, guess I better get a little excited about my new arrival next week, huh????...: )...no time for all that.....a different color but it's sorta kinda like this..hehe
Nov. 2, 2000...Wow! "What the heck happened today??!!", We spent another 4 hours or so at the hospital, get a proper diagnosis this time, more prescriptions, more prayers, a sigh of relief....*SIGH*...all is well in the Rumbel household (including Dave)...I remember that late afternoon appointment--at Schaeffers, ponder again what to do, decide I'll keep it (the appointment) afterall, lucky Mr. D follows behind me with the jeep, cause I end up leaving my baby behind for some other lucky gal OR guy (boohoo--weep, weep)..BUT I'm also making work order plans for the mechanics in the shop,new pipes, more chrome, windshield, yadda, yadda, yadda--gosh now I can't wait, maybe a week or two.. WOOHOO!...I can't believe this day, from agony to such excitement, but yet there's a lonely spot in the garage, that will take some adjusting to....a mixed kinda feeling, but the ultimate ending will be all shmiles! : )
Nov. 1, 2000...A couple of late night hours in the emergency room has a way of making you look at things in new & different ways....

Oct. 31, 2000...Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat?!...Phone rings, the treat might be for me, no tricks, an early treat, Concord Purple and Diamond Ice.... a trip to Schaeffers, try on for size, oooo it fits, but how?...when...should I? shouldn't I? I sorta did, sorta kinda, but not a definite yet...."What was I thinking????"....Am I dreaming?..but gosh they make it so easy.....I better play the lotto tomorrow.....TRICK OR TREAT!
I know a real nice, well-kept sporty hugger looking for a good home, lotsa extras, email me, before she's gone....that'll help tip the scales and secure a downpayment...I'm excited but very scared but still shmiling!....EEKS!
Oct. 30, 2000...So many terrible things happening to people around me, have I enough prayers for all?? is there ever enough understanding to go around...enough ears to listen, and shoulders to cry on, I try to be a good listener and do what I can to help, sometimes it doesn't seem enough...what would I do? What will I do?...We can never know for sure until we're walking in those shoes...
Gosh a Volleyball game between the JV & Varsity Girls team and the parents of the girls! What fun! Some of those Mom's & Dad's can really play vb and ALL of us had FUN! : )
Oct. 29, 2000...Gee! I thought I had my dates all mixed up or maybe a typo or two, but I have a Pottsville Republican Herald paper here dated, Thursday, October 27, 2000,(the Sports page, of course...gee and we were just discussing athletic scholarships..hmmmm) check your calenders, or is it me??? My calender says Thursday was the 26th and Friday is the 27th, Gee I hope they remembered to turn their clocks back in the office....

I thought this story was really interesting~! Now what would possess a rare bird from the Pacific Northwest coast to fly all the way here to Schuylkill County?!?.."maybe it's in his genes, this need to defy the acceptable migration patterns"...ut-oh! guess he's a bird of a different color, oh yea they mentioned that too...hehe....(Maybe we should notice & appreciate the treasures to be found in this corner of the world...)

Oct. 25, 2000...Today, as I am talking to my supervisor, explaining something in a very serious tone, she's grinning at me, as I am talking she begins to smile more & more and finally is almost laughing! Finally I say, "What are you laughing at?!" and she says "You are funny, you are so sweet and yet when you are mad you are like ten devils!" (and she stresses the ten devils part...) she adds, "...especially when you are making a point about something." Thanks Kathy, you made me laugh, you see me just as I want to be perceived, as a "Sweetie, with Spitfire!"...I yam, what I Yam! : )
Oct, 24, 2000...Gosh, had to let my baby go again for a little while, 10,000mile checkup already! Can ya believe it?? I've only had it not even 6months! only 6500 or so of those miles are mine, but what a ride I've been having!..that spot in the garage sure looks empty..: (
Oct. 23, 2000..So THAT'S what's been eating the cat food!..and I was brave and used a flash, glad Pepe' didn't get spooked!...oh the joys of living in the country...

Oct. 14, 2000...We are so lucky to have such wonderful scenic, country roads to ride on....this autumn the most beautiful colors!..my only regret for today is not riding on the back with Dave so I could take lots of photos...(and feel that special closeness I miss...: ) a nice trip to Bear Rock Junction Corn Maze on Rt. 309 & Mt. Road, New Tripoli, and we made it through ! Yay!! more pics here.
