March 10, 2001...Another day, life goes on, gotta do what ya can, if ya can...nice to start "long put-off" projects, nice to hear things are maybe lookin' up for loved ones in turmoil, wonderin' if those Daytona guys got home safely, and thinking also, that Mr. Bill better let us know (on my messageboard, click on "post") just how much fun that r-r-R-R-rumble was........Next year!...Maybe next year I'll have hit that big one and be retired and go to all these rallies instead of working...hmmm, who knows?..alot can happen in a year....ramblin' on here, as thoughts are...mine never stop....last year I dreamed of really riding--marveling at the idea of getting to third gear...plopping here and there, but still thinking "maybe..just maybe..." :-)
March 9, 2001...Is it a good thing or bad thing that I take things so-o "to heart"? is it a good thing to concern yourself with what people might be saying about you and what they might think of you? I let these things affect me too darn much, especially when there are narrow-minded people that will only see things in a certain negative way...if only they understood. I am usually more hurt than angry...I never intend anyone harm, never...no matter what happens, I only wish the best for everyone...When a stand needs to be taken on an issue, and I voice my opinion, is that trouble-making?.....how do you not let it bother you, when you are wrongly accused? I have never mastered that skill....I am so very sad...
Seems I need that long, theraputic bike ride, really, really, bad........
March 8, 2001..Happy b-day to Noonie...
Gosh, I am hearing that stock in Yahoo and other dot.com companys is not doing so well, I think what went up sky-hi must come down to earth sometime..EEKS! What if "free web space" on Yahoo-geocities comes to an end! Double Eeks! What would I do with all my stuff?? Anybody ever figure how many web pages (o'mine) I got linked to here? Photos take up alot of megabytes of space quickly..."We all better be prepared..just in case...."
March 7, 2001...In yesterdays, newspaper, asking kids, "What are you doing for Lent?"... most popular response involves getting along with sibilings, less tv; the typical american family I supose, We're all typical..OH NO!! And Mr. D, I know you lOVE bow ties, but we only have seashells, okay?
March 6, 2001...Weatherguy said last year at this time, we had record breaking temperatures for the Northeast, 60's even 70's, *sigh* I remember, I was learning to ride on those warm weather days, the warmth & the happiness is cultivates seems such a long way off...will it ever return again? I'm anxiously waiting...
March 5, 2001...Anybody "Snowbound" yet????...
..Hey! my workplace actually closed down! Woohoo! Snowday!!! YAY! It was on right along with the many, many school cancellations! I feel like a kid!
March 4, 2001..A moving, stirring gospel lesson..temptation, human weaknesses, strength through faith...there are certain things that are stronger than us, those forces of nature, we must be humble, big enough to be small....
..and since there's this huge storm a'comin to get us, we gotta just sit tight and wait it out, everything just may stop and new priorities may be in the forefront, but we can't change some things..."in life we'll know wilderness & garden, struggle & grace, but what is constant is the presence of God leading us by day and night..."
March 3, 2001...forecast says, "the calm before the storm" oh gee!..another one!...Mr. D just hears geese flyin' over, seems almost 40degrees...hmmm...Should we or shouldn't we?.....
...We Did! We did!..and it was GREAT!:-)The Calm before the Storm
March 1, 2001...March came in like a purring pussy cat and is ready to pounce like a lion, but in only thirty days it will be April...Can I stand this test of time?
I can't help wondering if the Democrats had anything to do with the Seattle earthquake, poor GW has so much extra campaigning to do to promote the proposed budget and Seattle stole the airwaves the day after....
... I'll admit I finally tuned in to "Survivor", I just had to see what emergency happened, what happened, who got hurt, etc..."Mike" got burned near the fire and was flown off the island, reminded me of another burn accident almost 20 years ago...what could have been tragic, but healed in time, seems like yesterday.....healing from burns is very painful, therapy is painful...but also comes to mind how brave the patient was, how popular on the ward with his guitar playing out of the hospital bed, and how the doctors allowed him two beers a day, to replenish fluids & calories, he joked of saving 'em up for a party at the weeks end....I remember trips up to Geisinger daily, after work, wondering "would today be a good day or a bad day?"...tragic events that still can bring fond memories....all how we remember, and what we remember...
Feb. 28, 2001...Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lent Season for many Christians...forgiveness, reflection, repentence, new beginnings....
...Prayers and thoughts with those people in Washington State, devastated and faced with loss due to the earthquake...
...Just when my thoughts for the day were focused on GW Bush and his speech, I get news of the quake, GW you've been temporarily pardoned...I must admit for the first time I have seen, he seemed to have eaten his wheaties before the speech...no confusion, slurring, and well, ya know.... The people of this country must be prepared to become more involved in their local government as the the Federal government plans to step back and allow the state & local levels do the job, we the people must be the watchdogs and INVOLVED!!!..it is our democracy....
Feb. 27, 2001...Ash Wednesday Eve, Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras', Doughnut Day, Faustnaught(sp?) Day, Pancake Day, End of the Winter Celebration...Beginnning of Lent tomorrow, must we sacrifice something to truly appreciate our blessings? Does doing without make us have stronger character, or can we just strive to notice every moment and every blessing, keeping in mind our times of deprivation....just pondering all this...I don't need to consume a vat of food too appreciate doing without for a time....
...Here's a photo of Bob's new HD Dyna SuperGlide! WooHoo! Because of all this bike swapping, Chopper now owns Bob's previous Shadow and Chop's Red Honda Shadow that we rode on Jan 1st is now for sale, it rides pretty nice! Email for more info...
Hope all those Daytona Bound Folks are getting ready and excited for the fun! Today was a nice weather day, I looked for signs of crocus sprouting but none here yet on the North side of the mountain, but soon...yes, soon...the chimes were singing, the air was warm, a nice much-needed walk in the yard...can't wait for spring! I actually heard early morning song birds today too! : )
Feb. 26, 2001...ARRRRGGGHHHH!!..aaaa-a-a, that feels better....
Feb. 25, 2001..Transfiguration Sunday...a time for change...a time to renew...Change is good, change is constant, sometimes change is difficult...
In a family we change... our children grow up, our spouses change but we don't often notice, notice those changes and appreciate them... in order to grow things must continually change, seeds lie dormant, then grow into plants, some feed us when we are hungry, some feed us with beauty....sometimes wonderful ideas grow from tiny seeds, and new life starts as a seed....Change is everpresent, embrace it....
...ummmm, speaking of change, I got a little goofy today, nuthin' new, huh?...
Feb. 24, 2001...It's tough being a parent, tough to know what the right thing is....the story is always unfolding, and ya just never know...
Feb. 23, 2001...This was a beautiful sunshiny Friday Afternoon...
Feb. 23, 2001...Deja Vu! A half a foot of snow is in my driveway again...*sigh*...Bike Week at Daytona is looking more & more tempting...I wish i could, I wish I could,...
Lucky Scranton Police Dept got four Indian Motorcycles to chase criminals with, hmmm, lucky guys!
Just gotta say, I know we women have our quirky things, (the bathroom in groups thing drives me crazy!--I'm not THAT kinda girl! hehe...) But why is it when a guy's sick, unless ya hand him the medicine, he won't take it? Now not ALL guys, but most I know and from what their women tell me, ya gotta hand feed them their medicine so ya can get a good night's sleep, what's with that?? Maybe it's the "Take care of me, Mommy" syndrome, but who takes care of the Mommies?...okay, this is all meant in fun---I'm not man-bashing, just seems funny how the little boys in men comes out in certain situations...."I'm so-o-o-ooo sick...." I say this all with a SHMILE! We women LOVE taking care of our little boys! :-
...and then there's that "I can't find it" syndrome...yadda, yadda, yadda....
Okay ya gotta forgive me I got a bad case of "PMS"...that's "Parked Motorcycle Syndrome!"...hehe...gotta vent....

Feb. 19, 2001... Ladies! (or men, gotta be politically correct) "If ya never changed a flat tire before, Change one right now!"...Don't wait until your along the busy interstate with tractor trailors whizzin' by, and when you're not appropriately dressed for such a messy and "in the weather" kind of task. Or worse yet when it might be dark and more dangerous. I have been lucky so far, but finally it happened...And I'll tell ya, along the interstate is NOT the time to read the owners manual!...I'm smilin' NOW, because all ended well, even better...I never got to the York Plant as planned, but I solved the dilema at hand and THEN finally got to ride my bike! WooHoo! I knew it was gonna be a good day after all and it was even better! Gosh! "How I love to ride!" I even forget just how much!! I'm Shmiling all over, inside and out~~~~!
Feb. 18, 2001...Our annual "Talent & Dessert" night at St. John's tonight, See you there...ummm' no talent neccessary...: )
Speaking of talent, four-time grammy award-winning blues artist, Buddy Guy was great last night to a sold-out audience! To think he's pretty much up in years and still playin' like that! His connection with the audience was so-o cool! He stepped off the stage and came right on down in the crowds, strummin' that polka dot Fender! As he handed the guitar to a boy in the audience, I could tell Justine was burstin', wanting to do a few riffs herself, well she did get an autograph and a memorable night! My first time hearing that kind of Blues "live", no one warned me...Mmmmm!
Next time I go to The Keswick, remind me to take my camera! There was flashin' goin' on all over, I missed out on great photos: ( I LOVE that theater!)
New Park Entertainment - a great link to what's happening in the tri-state area entertainment-wise.
Right when I get thinking Spring is just around the corner, a blast of Arctic cold air hits with blustery wind chills! Br-r-r-r! Last year this time we had a mild winter, I was getting pushed around on my Honda, flintstone-style, "AARRRRGH!" it was not near as cold, we visited the York HD Plant, took the plant tour and saw the museum. What a great place! Hey! I got a holiday tomorrow! Wonder if the plants working? What a great winter road trip for me! Think I better find out.....Seeya...
Feb. 15, 2001..Well, one lucky Harley gal I know got new Harley boots for valentine's day!..lucky her! :-)
Gosh, it sems like old times at our house, dueling & swapping guitars, and music, music everywhere!, only difference is I'm not doin' da singin', :- 0 and now Justine's playin' along! : )
Feb. 14, 2001..In case ya forget, give your sweetie a kiss today, it's Saint Valentine's Day! : )
...I'm at work, admiring all the *sweet* bouquets of roses being delivered to all the sweethearts at my workplace---a handful anyway---and all I'm thinking is; If a deliveryman brings some shiny, chrome motorcycle accessory wrapped in a huge bow with helium baloons attached, I'd be happy!...: )
Feb. 13, 2001...Hey Bobalou! Welcome to the "I got a new Harley, and I can't wait to ride" Club...Our group is growing...and anxiously waiting for that first fair weather weekend! : )
Accentuate the positive, change the negative, move forward, and learn from the past, or be doomed to forever repeat it...
Feb. 12, 2001...Two years since Pap's passing...we miss him 1916-1999
Feb. 11, 2001...In memory of Pap, a bittersweet get-together.
Feb. 10, 2001...Typos too easy to make, typing too easily misunderstood, if your bidding on EBAY be sure to put in $34.50 rather than $345.00 EEKS! : )..be sure what ya type is what ya intend, and don't forget those emails astray, one wrong dot or dash in an address and who knows who's destiny destiny might be forever changed....
Feb. 9, 2001...Good News! Carl's made National Merit Scholarship Finalist Status..Good Goin' Mr. C!....Yea!, College $$$$ : )...

Feb. 7, 2001...All this snow! The kids get a day off of school and I can't find a single snowman anywheres! Sheesh!! (and I weally, twuly wanted to stay home from work and make one myself!) Things sure have changed, I'm sure there had to be one out there but not in my travels...guess all the kiddies were in playing Nintendo...the times "they-are-a-changin'"...which speaking of times changin': "Reality Shows!" what ever happened to television being the place to get away from reality?..personally, I think they're rigged anyway, why who wants to watch nine weeks of reality, I'm sure the most popular, top nielson-rated survivor has already won ...survivor= backstabbing, ruthless plotting, competition, popularity rules! What does this say about our society?...and Temptation Island? Now come on!..I gotta admit I haven't watched one episode of any of this, and I don't think I missed a thing! and Maybe it's not fair of me to comment if I haven't experienced the hype, but I can still worry about the world...
Feb. 5, 2001...Gotta love these four seasons we have here in the NorthEast, gotta remember things do eventually green up, gotta remember the sun shines brightly, warms the earth and the smile on my face : ), gotta remember April showers bring May flowers, and in autumn the brilliant colors of the deciduous leaves on the trees prepares us for nature's sleep, and for this, another pretty blanketing snow fall...
...Am I ever gonna get to ride my Low-ryder????...: (
...Guess that's what Daytona Bikeweek is for...: )
February 4, 2001...Wow! Alice Cooper's 53 years old today, and he hasn't aged abit!..Why he's still singing, "I'm Eighteen!"..hehe... I'm not gonna get old either, yup I can be like Alice and be forever young...I supose acting crazy and zany may be the key to his youth, I can do that! : He sure puts on a great theatrical show! I'd love to see him again...oh yea, We got tickets to see Buddy Guy..any blues fans out there?...
..I didn't write this but I found it interesting, concerning gal bike riders, written by an English Lass, in case the lingo confuses ya a wee bit... Motorcycles from this women's perspective: ) I don't agree with all but again, found it interesting viewpoint...ummm, she mentions that "vertically challenged" thingie...grrr-r..but now the "PMS" that girl bikers suffer, I like that!! "Parked Motorcycle Syndrome"..: )
February 3, 2001...Two days, three states, two colleges, four HD shops, one nerve wracking "white out" snow squawl in the foothills of the catskill mountains in the dark, and 823 miles later and I'm tired!!!
New Haven, CT is a wonderful town, Alfred, NY is a quaint friendly "village" with a wonderful private University, Corning, NY will be a day trip for another day, and I have renewed respect for those sudden snow storms in the mountains, especially in the middle of NOWHERE! As for Wurtzboro, NY, what kind of town has an exit going in and none going out?? seemed more like the twighlight zone with a Bates Motel somewheres and of course that's where the snowfall began.....I always wanted to see Binghamton, NY in the daytime, maybe next time and gosh so very close to Niagra Falls, *sigh* a definite day trip for the upcoming summer....
February 2, 2001...Happy GH Day, how'd that get started anyway??? that little critter saw his shadow and even did a little dance, gee, how cute!..oops that was last year, sorry, "Nevermind!" gotta wait til the sun comes up! : All the nation is looking at Punxsuatawney, PA today.
Happy B-day to my buddy, Deb, today, SMILE!
January 31, 2001...I'm seriously running out of megabytes here, I'm gonna have to make some serious changes pretty soon or no room for anything new...*sigh*..all I need is time....
This morning it was something like 17 cold degrees out, it's 39 right now, I tell a buddy at work, "I'm going on a road trip to Connecticut soon", and she says, "On the bike?!!"...hehe...funny how everybody assumes that anymore, well no, not this time, but if the weather were favorable you know I would be! : )
..just an observation, if ya got a huge, heavy chip on your shoulder, it sure must weigh ya down....
one more thought, before you park your butt in front of this puter make sure ya got your homework and your chores done! :
January 29, 2001...Happy b-day to sweet Victoria!
I can't take too many more surprises....gotta keep the faith...Is pouring my thoughts out here for all to see embarrassing?? sometimes I wonder..
January 28, 2001..."Keep on breathing, because tomorrow the sun's gonna come up again, and you don't know what the tide will bring ...." and while everyone's in a superbowl frenzy, I'm on a deserted island...I loved it!.."an' dat's all a'm gunna say 'bout dat..."
January 26, 2001...Long before we heard G.W. Bush's daughter was attending Yale University, We made plans to visit. Now that it's coming to fruition, I'm envisioning, secret service agents, wittle ol' ME and great potential for a "Diane-Story"...EEKS!...gotta be on extra good behavior while visiting....
"What Women Want" was pretty funny, coulda been a little funnier, but it was, Mel Gibson is really talented and the funny moments were REALLY funny! I like Helen Hunt alot too, gosh that's what she was doing while Tom Hanks was castaway....(didn't see that yet) "Wag the Dog" was lousy, a good idea, and very timely with Clinton's antics, but zz-z-z-z-z---!
Can't believe it was last year at this time I was "dreaming" about learning to ride my honda! ( and not really thinking I'd actually get it right!) Gosh, what a year, since then!! Here's a blast from the past: My Honda
...One more comment, first that bike magazine refers to us "short" riders as vertically challenged, now "American Iron" uses the catch-phrase, riders with "abreviated inseams" sheesh!! No respect! okay, I'm laffing, it's pretty clever, anyway I'll forgive them if the get rid of Stephanie Feds column, I can't find her this month, gee, no stupid riding comments this month, actually in the letters to the editor, someone beat me to writing about her, Kudos to Allaraire Decoudres of Conroe, Tx! I agree and am gonna write my own letter one of these days....This issue of "American Iron" is especially good, thicker, and more color photos, and lotsa interesting reading. (they shoulda taken a DynaLowrider on that fantasy Ride! the t-sport just isn't as cool...hehe)
January 25, 2001...Gosh, all these important current events, and I haven't commented... the inauguration, the super bowl, California's energy shortage and black outs, the turmultous weather, the stock market and the economy *sigh*, and that women put in a body bag that was still alive..EEKS!!!...good thing she wasn't an organ donor! Double Eeks!!...at least she's okay now...I found this interesting: Write a "Winning" essay about the joys of country living and for $100, win a farm in Western Pa...now that's original!..oh an Elbeco made an AP news article! Gee!
I have forgotten how quickly gray hairs sprout when you're teaching a teenager to drive with your car... : -0
January 24, 2001...I admit, this is odd, but stangely interesting....The Internet Obituaries..makes you think about your own life accomplishments and just what it might read....gotta work on that..for now I'm just me.
January 23, 2001...Gee, didn't anyone notice I've been forgetting the "1's" again in 2001??..duh--!..at least for the last four entries....111111
What do ya supose Mr. D's gonna do with this????
Oh! I see, that's where it goes! : )
And how often do you see 900+lbs of(pretty)iron suspended in mid-air??...
January 22, 2001...Business is business, gotta face that, things aren't always fair, seems we take one step forward, three steps back, and somehow we're right where we've been all along, how can that be?.. talk about taking the long way home...so many lives change along the way, and sometimes not for the better.......I'm sad pondering all this, driving home slowly, the school bus lights flash, the "stop" sign comes out, the door opens, and two sweet little girls scurry off the bus, cross the road, smiling big and one waves timidly---I'm smiling..and suddenly I realize it!..I thought I couldn't be cheered up and an innocent smile & a wave did it! : )
January 21, 2001...Once again we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! And once again, it sure was pretty, but I'm gettin' pretty tired of it, nine and one half inches of fluffy, flaky stuff in my back yard! Woohoo! Here's a few more flaky photos.
January 20, 2001...Gee where have I been??..Well, it's like this...
Remember that idea of trying really hard to do an aerobic workout everyday or as much as possible???..Well, I've been trying...
One stretch too far and the heavy ceramic harley (of course) knick-knack on the coffee table proceeds to fly in the air, headed right for the television screen, and those ladies saying "Three, Four! Don't stop breathing...C'mon..Don't Stop, Don't Stop! You're tough, You're strong...!" and on and on and on... I stretch a little further to try to catch the IFO (Identified Flying Object) and Pull a muscle in my back, I'm Stuck!!! Oh my aching latissimus dorsie!! While trying to retrieve the object, I did indeed intercept it and it boomeranged, sparing the television and those three skinny, chanting exercise-freaks, but coming back and hitting me on the head, knocking me in a "not-quite but almost" state of unconsciousness, (do you see & hear those silly stars & those batty birds circling my head?)..I fall to the floor in the delirium, and bump my head a second time on the coffee table corner where it all started....and suddenly see my life flash before my eyes..(It was pretty quick) ...I start to come to--just a bit and see that now I've turned into a cross between Lucille Ball and Jerry Lewis, again with those stars circling an all....(visualizing???)..Of course I had lost my memory, a severe case of amnesia and absolutely no thoughts for that day or any others! Imagine all that!!!!...Pretty Cool, huh??? JUST KIDDING!!! Did I make ya chuckle--at least a little??..Have a nice day!
Jan 13th & 14th, 2000.."Yes Virginia, There IS a Harleysville." : )
...and I'm LOWRYDR-di...: )
My weekend revues: The Philly Motorcycle extravaganza was so-so, not what I expected, one highlight was if ya have little kids that want to climb all over harleys-- (or any bike for that matter) that's where to take them...all these new 2001 model bikes with fingerprints and smudges all over them and if ya couldn't reach too get on, that's ok, just climb up all the chrome pipes and accessories--I was cringing as I watched all of this, waiting for one of the bikes to topple over because three kids wanna sit on it at once....sheesh!..am I getting old & grumpy????
One funny thing (since I got such a sense of humor---) This year the Dyna Lowrider (mine) has alot of changes, everything lowered, alright I'll admit it's made just for a short person like me...anyways, once I read in a magazine revue, it's marketed for the "vertically challenged"---sheesh!! that got me a little riled up!--I may be short and admit it, but vertically challenged??!!!anyway, I guess I gotta concede because at this show, there was my exact bike, same color and all, and all the super-short (sorry guys) people were checking it out, at one point there wasn't a tall person anywhere near, and they were all shorter than me!! I just had to laugh!! Guess I am VERTICALLY CHALLENGED!...thanks! :
The York Motorcycle parts swap meet was really cool, lotsa neat stuff there, you had to sort through but it was alot of fun, and we enjoyed talking to the vendors (many which came all the way from New England Area), Since we were in the area, we also checked out the new HD dealership in Gettysburg, "Battlefield Harley Davidson" on Route 30. Another fun day! Chop & Brittany went along and they were BOTH well-behaved and patient while we looked FOREVER at all the harley stuff...
Okay I'm gonna start reading Tolkien's "The Hobbit" once and for all....
Jan 10, 2001...45 degrees for Sunday, Woohoo! that's almost 50! and ya know what that means??..now, how to get the bike out of the still snow-covered driveway..hmmmm...: (
..Okay, the cat's outta the bag...over the winter I've gained 10-15extra lbs (EEKS-I know!!!) but four days now I've faithfully worked out in the mornings and watched the eats---so come summer I'm gonna be real strong to hold up that new ride! : ) So if ya see me eatin' a potato chip "Hollar! Stop !"..hehe
