April 28, 2001..Quick! quick! Gotta type fast, lots to do, not enough hours in a day...Spaghetti Dinner at St. John's, Ringtown; a fundraiser for the Youth Group, 4-7pm, Stop by and eat while on your bike travels! :-)...last year Carl & Justine got to go to St. Louis, Missouri for the ECLA Youth Gathering through our fundraising efforts..Support the cause...
I'm starting to see alot charity bike runs, alot of bike activities for good causes as well, thats bikers for ya!
April 27, 2001...lots of events happening, can I contain myself?..A call from Yale..YIPPEE!! the letter I painfully stressed about and squeezed out in a pinch, *Ouch*.. paid off!...Sometimes all the stresses smooth out..GREAT! and it's Friday!!YIPPEE!
April 26, 2001..."Bring your daughter or son to Work Day" again...In spite of my mixed thoughts on bringing kids to our work place, I gotta say those shmily faces sure brightened the place up! funny how many of these kiddies looked like miniatures of their parents...I haven't hung around with little ones enough lately, it reminded me how much I miss & enjoy that! Those intriguing questions and innocent minds...That's why I loved being a Girl Scout leader for so long, I think I get along with people for the most part, but it's kids I feel most at home with! I can be ME!..no rules, judgements.. : )(and kids WEALLY LAUGH at my corny jokes!!)
Good to have my sweetie back where he belongs...
April 25, 2001...Don't ya just hate the postage stamps that have no face value on them??!, especially after they've raised the rates so frequently..I have all these "flags" "chickens" "make-up rate" (which year?--duh!)"statue of liberties..."and I don't know how much postage their worth, so if anyone gets postage due notice from me, SORRY!...just funnin' but it's true...
Gotta take those moments when ya can, remember them, cherish them, treasure them, and make more.... : )
April 24, 2001..Happy B-day to Kris...An eventful trip to the veterinarian's today..All this time I didn't know giving benedryl to the cat before the car ride to & fro would prevent that horid car sickness she gets out both ends, gee, worked like a charm, only catch I didn't know if she preferred cherry flavor or bubble gum... : ) While there I met these three real charmers, "Spike", "Sport", and "Sarge", real cuties...well behaved and mannerly...played well together too....for full-bred beagle hunting dogs that is...sitting in the waiting room is kinda funny; instead of babies crying you hear cats meowing, hissing, dogs barking, howling, I'm sorta laughin inside cause it just seems funny to me, and people who have pets sure do LOVe them and it is true they begin to look like them, have you noticed?
Speakin' of animals, the bear was back tonight, two nights now he's visited us and I'm determined to get a photo, he's huge & beautiful, thanks Wendy for the tip-off he was headin' my way, unfortunately I didn't catch a glimpse or a *snap*...Darn!
Gee was that tipsy typing last night or what???..who said all that? missin' my sweetie and sayin' prayers for him as always...
April 23, 2001...With all due respect, ya have to wonder about guys signin' up for the navy....Six months at a time at sea with all those seamen...'er other seamen, I mean...not my words, Mr. D's...seems he's getting fed up with government rules & regulations keeping him from getting the job done and getting home to his sweetie...only in the good ol' USA!...hmmm...a blibble to that!...*blibble*!
A Wonderful Sunshiny day!!..."Poi-fect! Why Sointenly!...Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk!"...The ride to work made "that" even seem bearable and a lunchtime ride was great therapy...Gotta Love it!
April 22, 2001...What a great ride! 100+ bikes and great weather! Gotta get me a "babe on the back" to take great scenic photos! :-) Kidding, really, but what a sight! All those bikes on the windy hills before me....No way to snap a pic, gotta shift, and roll the throttle....Only thing missing was my sweetie! : (

Somebody asks, "Where will you be in ten years?" I ponder where I have been ten years ago, gosh alot of changes, alot of lessons learned, The sky is the limit! the only limitations we have are those we make...It's easy to slip into thinking things will always be the same, and yet isn't it necessary in life to have constant change? We evolve, isn't that a rule of nature? Change is hard to accept sometimes but be open to it, ya never know what adventure lies behind door #3...!
I HATE these new settings on my desktop! Changes--Ba humbug!! *winks*
April 20, 2001..How bout this "Ride to Work" day June 14th, in the UK? They suggest going one step further to promote motorcycle riding and bring a friend along, I ride to work as often as I can, anybody brave enough to wanna hitch a ride with me?..hehe...
Everybody better get concerned about motorcycle rights and health insurance denial if you ride, they're discussing this right now! Call or email your Congressmen NOW!
Darn! I thought this was MY great idea! The easier way to see how your bike will look customized before you pay for the accessories and maybe don't like the look, oh well, I needed a software developer for that idea : ( 3-D bike customizing software!
April 19, 2001..Smooth sailing from here on..hmm, what a nice thought!, I'm thinking if only one could be assured of that, yes I think one can...Sailing? Can that be the influence of the bay? the aircraft carriers nearby? or all that seafood??!..I'm all for smooth sailing!...a little turbulence here and there makes it interesting as long as you have trust and faith in the captain...and a harley ride for some added excitement!

April 17, 2001...I can't believe it's snowin' out there this evening!! Just as I'm perplexed, and consumed with thoughts and questions confusing me, I get a call from someone who has some of the answers..Lucky Me!..and I am lucky!...Often when you're having a bad day, look around you're bound to find someone nearby worse off then yourself, and then..say a prayer for them...
Amazing the silly things you learn about when you need to know..and gosh how easy to accidentally delete something real innocent looking and find out later when ya reboot it must've been pretty darn important afterall..I think there's a lesson in there somewhere..We're all just grains of sand but altogether a beautiful beach?...And the speckles in a carpet are individual, unique colors, but all together they are happy splashes of color in one blanket of softness and warmth...i dunno...

Today Happy B-day to my Brother, Frank, who like me will be forever young..
Last year on this calender date, I got my motorcycle endorsement! Yay..I was so happy! A whole year and no casualties!
Last Easter, after services we all met for a cool, Easter Day Ride, We froze a little, like this April it was cool, but what a fun ride. I was still riding my Honda, and never guessed less than a week later I'd be bringing home my sporty! This year a little different, Sunrise Service, work clothes to finish the basement slate flooring, and if it warms up a bike ride to Mom's for dinner, the son sure is shining now! :-) Alot has happened in a year's time! (..now I'm Low-RyderDi!..hehe)
April 14, 2001...Gosh to start the day so early with such glorious sunshine! What a wonderful weather weekend for us! Gotta get the projects done so we can enjoy riding later..just gotta!
ROCK youth group is having an Easter Vigil, a quiet time for prayer & reflection at St. John's today between the hours of 10:00AM-5:00PM, stop out, nourish your soul.
April 13, 2001..Taxes are filed, sent out and on their way...Yippee-Do-Dah-Day!...I HATE Paperwork! How will I ever get thru the college years?..Now back to the other projects, gotta rent a stone cutter to cut slate, need more glue, gotta resist the urge to take a bike ride, hehe, get those measurements for the berber, we all gotta agree on a style of furniture, gee is that gonna be hard!...

April 12, 2001..One of those lon-ng, short work weeks...Whew! Glad it's over!..A few days off, and much to do, is there anyone besides me who hasn't filed their taxes yet? eeks!...
Prayers and thoughts for all those familes feeling such sorrow in the loss of their family members, far too many tragic things have happened in this area lately...we must count our blessings daily and be thankful for all...too many things too easily taken for granted...taking the middle road is safe, but sometimes ya gotta just "up & fly...", you may miss your only chance...

April 10, 2001...Sometimes I feel two dozen or so emotions all at once! Happy, sad, relaxed, perplexed, ANGRY, sad, hurt, mad,..lost... Does anyone else feel that? Like there's all these voices shouting at me, telling me how I should feel, think, behave...ARGHHH!..okay I'm not certified yet, but somedays.....time for a bike ride...and thoughts of my sweetie...or maybe time to hide...
Happy birthday to Paul, who like me, is getting closer to one of those biggie ones..hehe
April 9, 2001...A real honest-to-goodness heatwave today! Seventy-seven degrees on my way home today and I'm thinking, bike ride or plant the sweet peas? hmmmm?...so Justy and I decide to plant peas, onions, and the tulips I never got in the ground last fall before it froze, WHAT TORTURE! Bikes just kept ridin' up & down my road! Sheesh! So I figure when the work is done, a quickie ride, Justine's gettin' the itch too, she asks if I'll take her...WHAT??!! I never rode a passenger, she's wanting a ride so bad, she'll risk her life with me drivin', I'd say she's got the Harley bug!! I decide I'll try, "I can do this, I can do this!" and just as we were almost dressed with long sleeves and pants (no coat riding--WooHoo!) her friend stops by wanting to take her to the movies! Seems Eric may have saved yer life sweetie! We'll try another time...
Speakin' of J, she's getting pretty witty with the harley humor, Mr. D's braggin about my new "quiet" washer he bought home for me, and she quips in, "Yea! it's too quiet, better get new pipes!" hehe.... Bike Humor...
April 8, 2001...There's always that transition time, between happy & sad, and the contrast is sometimes so apparent, sorta like the butt crack in the window, everyone is laffin their butts off lookin at this funny butt "moonin'" in the window, all is well, then *POP!* window breaks, suddenly all is quiet, then fear sets in, then sadness....then panic??
...When loved ones are home all is happy & well, then sometimes they have to leave
...Passion Sunday, all is jubulient, happy, rejoiceful! Then, later, the turn of events are filled with sorrow... for some they never loose hope, faith. Some learn their destinies are fufilled by these turn of events...and they are never the same. Life is full of tests and lessons, faith makes us strong...Sometimes we need all our strength & more to keep our faith, and to do what's right...
Just when you have things figured out, good news changes everything, Life is full of surprises, happy & sad...an acceptance letter from Yale, what wonderful news!...Once again the plans may change..We shall see....better keep workin' that OT!

April 7, 2001..We SURVIVED!!..YEA!! the Cast party is over and all is well!..No casualties, (I didn't kill anyone..hehe) 'cept a "butt-shaped" crack in a window... seems there was more than one full moon out and about that night! and this one was having too much fun showin' off thru the window!... anyways, nothing that's not fixable, I think everyone had a good time,..I felt like a teenager again staying up ALMOST all night, Hey, Mr. D? remember about 4:30am, just as we were falling asleep, that creaking coming from the pull down attic steps??..EEKS! hehe...gotta laugh...Tonight's performance was great too!
GREAT JOB NS THESPIANS!...All did a great job but Ms. Sammy...You amaze me!
April 5, 2001..Well I think I'm just about ready...yup, I am, and pretty calm even...AMAZING!...No one thought it was possible..."Guys & Dolls" A'm ready fer yas! : )
The nicest weather day since last season, too much to do and my bike stayed parked!.. thats discipline!....and to think we also passed up an opportunity to go to an "all-harley" dealers auction, 250+ bikes, gosh I wish we could have gone, not that we need another bike, but just lookin' and admiring is sure fun! Wonder if Kris found that fatboy he's gettin' the itch for?...
Last year on this day I had my first motorcycle safety class, gee, what a year it's been since....
April 4, 2001...Too many things to worry about, and times running out..how can that be?... then at a certain point of time, it's all over..just like that! Taxes, for instance, after the 15th, that's it...EEKS!..80 teenagers spending the night..EEKS EEKS!...enough food? enough space?...the bank business, the trailor transaction, a trip to VA, ...sad *sigh*...excitement about home improvements, the pc & the tv will have a new home downstairs and we'll all be happy & cozy when it's all over...and we're enjoying...Today even a ride didn't take away the worries, seemed not a good riding day, just one of those feelings ya get once in awhile--and ya sure know it when it happens, best to turn around and go home, I didn't plop or anything, but I realize I gotta get back to doin' those pushups, working out, and getting stronger if I'm gonna manuever that lovely iron horse...backing up, holding her up, need more strength to be sure....
April 2, 2001...It's DEFINITELY not a good time for my washing machine to break!...: (
A peak of sunshine and warmth, and now it's suposed to finally warm up, FINALLY!...Don't forget, this upcoming Friday & Saturday, "Guys & Dolls" at North Schuylkill High School...Be there!...Too many things goin' on at once, don't they know I can only think about one thing at a time?? and when I'm riding, forget it! I haven't a care in the world!...('cept maybe that wittle ol' lady not watchin out for the motorcycle makin the turn, or stopped at an intersection...or little critters runnin' amuck, or whatever danger might be lurking...)

KUDOS to Carl & Jerry, competing and being chosen to represent the Lehigh Valley in the National Chemistry Olympiad at Muhlenberg College later this month...Gosh if they make it all the way, the International Competition is held in Bombay, India..WooHoo! Amazing to think there's a competition of this type in India of all places, Don't ya think? But anyway, Good Luck to the super team!...Funny, Carl visits Muhlenberg College to compete in Chemistry, and way back when, Dave & I visited too!...Okay, it was to see Steven Stills in concert, but that counts! "Yea! Rock&Roll!"...Muhlenberg College, not to be confused with John Prine's song "Paradise", that's Muhlenberg COUNTY..hehe...Great Song!...Not to be confused with seein' John Prine at the Kirby Center, He was great!! Now Arlo Guthrie, never again!.... I'm listenin' to "John Prine Live" right now! Amazing, he was a wittle ol' song-writing mailman once upon a time ....Oops time to get ready for church.....No April foolin'!
March 30, 2001...Don't forget Spring forward! Just what I need to loose more time, Time's running out, but I gain that extra hour of daylight,...hmm, one more hour of riding after work maybe?....
TIME, hmmmm.... projects take time, love takes time, relationships need time, one day at a time, time is priceless, time can be a gift, or maybe a curse, time can be slow, time can be fast, times neccessary to heal, ....spackling takes time to dry between coats, then you need to sand and smooth out the bumps, before the smooth, nice finish coat of paint, oh and don't forget a good undercoat of primer to make that finish lasting...one step at a time...
April Fool's Day falling on a Sunday, gee, who do you play jokes on? Carl & Dave are ushers, should they extent the offering plate and suddenly take it back, and say "April Fool!"..just doesn't seem as funny as the whoopie cushion at my work place or the fake spiders or detached body parts gags....or my dad's nailing his hand to a board with ketchup blood and all....

March 28, 2001...Midweek Lenten services featuring "Justine" as the mystery christian in history...Way to go Justy!...a great guest for "Face the Congregation"...Gee, today if a young girl said voices of saints were telling her to save France, hmmmmm....
I put that first 500 miles on my bike today, finally! WooHoo!!!..a nice ride around the valley, then the sun went down, a little crisp and cool, now I can really let loose!...: )
March 27, 2001...Can I really fit a cast of 80 teenagers in my home sweet home???? EGADS!!!!
Okay, I'm not, REALLY, a male-bashing kinda gal, BUT, considering a few observations recently, and with the exception of my sweetie, and maybe a few others, I have to say, men seem to be prisoners of their "male egos", it's like a curse, and they say women got problems! sheesh!..oh and isn't "male ego" another word for......aahh, nevermind....

March 26, 2001...Home renovations makes for messy and stressful conditions but when the works done, everybody's happy, or is it ever done??...and is everybody EVER happy???..meanwhile the credit cards going "cha-ching!, cha-ching!"....*Cringe*
March 25, 2001..There is hope! The famous cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom in Washington DC, such a beautiful sight and hopes & dreams for springtime memories and adventures. First robin's been spotted in the county, the daffodils and crocuses popped through the frozen earth in my yard, the song birds are singing every morning, and morning doves are pairing up outside my window....*sigh*
..and I just love beautiful sunsets...
March 24, 2001...I had a new epiphany!.."Real Biker Gals have oil and grease under their fingernails!"..hehe...I learned how to change the oil and check the tire pressure on my bike today...AND DID IT! Woohoo!!..also by an error,[darn those two similar drain plugs side by side!] checked the transmission fluid, but that's good too, all the little errors I made, helped me to learn all the better, maybe a small step for some other guy, but a HUGE step for wittle ol' me! I feel so-o-o empowered once again! :-)
(PS...ladies, the air's not gonna escape all outta the tire, when ya take the stem cap off, weally and twuly, I promise!)
Had to take a test ride shortly after, and what a great ride, Did I dominate that machine or what??? Such beauty in our very own valley!
March 23, 2001...All's well that ends well, Fridays are still Fridays even if you have to work Saturday. 60 more miles and I'm at the 500 mark! WooHoo!...Nice to have your bike delivered to your workplace to enjoy a nice ride home---the long way!... Curvy, rural roads, cool, crisp air, the wind kicked in and added some zest, a real nice ride until 10 miles or so from home, when the sun was disappearing and it got real cold, suddenly, nice easy 60 miles or so on my way home from work--me & my sweetie, gosh, my workplace is only 9 miles from home, now how did that happen??!!! hehe..a reminder; "life is good!"
...Don't forget, when we stumble we grow...a lifetime of scrapes and bruises.... and I'm stuck on band-aid brand, cause band-aids stuck all over me,...La-La-La-- and here's to more---! (that's a funny visual, band-aids stuck all over me!?? EEKS! my hair!--- like those stupid tickets at my work place, somedays they follow me home....!)
March 22, 2001...Don't ya just hate when someone moves the shortcut icons around on your desktop??....and at-a-glance some resemble others, sheesh, my brains overtaxed as it is without needing to think about this!...:)

...if ya can't ride, ya might as well start seeds...I always start out with plans of a GREAT garden, then riding season comes along, and there's no turning back...
Can't wait for sweet peas, tomatoes, green beans, crunchy right from the garden cukes! mmmm!...
March 21, 2001...Okay, I didn't get to ride yesterday, but Monday's ride kept me shmilin' for awhile!..and Choppie tells me this is his fourth (in less than a year!) and FINAL bike!..He sure seems happy with THIS one!
March 20, 2001..First day of Spring, gotta ride today, don't ya think? Long time comin'...a red letter day in my book....
This month's issue of "American Iron" has a wonderful story about riding in Washington State, it looks beautiful! Gosh what a road trip! I thought it always rained there, but the photos look splendid! So many places to see in the world....Someday...
March 19, 2001...Eighty-two cool miles of therapy, gosh if ya asked me do I want to run to Wilkes-Barre and back just for nothin' in MY CAR, I'd say, "Huh?" but on the bike I can ride just nowhere and rack up lotsa miles and say, "Alright!!"....

...There's a nationally known bath product I LOVE & have used for years, I just now notice on the back it says, underlined, "Avoid direct contact with Styrene Plastics", Sheesh! now what's with that? I'm thinkin' I ought not soak anymore in Skin-So-Soft, guess it must be that bug repellant side effect thingie...hehe...

March 15, 2001...Why do I insist on seeing goodness in all people, even before knowing a single thing about them? Why do I open myself up for getting hurt? When will I learn that just because my intentions are sincere, honest, and kind, not everyone has those same values? Why am I too trusting?..."When will I ever learn to keep my guard up and not let everyone in so easily??"..then Justine replies, "Please Don't change, because you'll miss that one special person that IS kind and honest---a good friend!" Gosh Justine how did you get so smart???....

March 13, 2001... Thirty years ago today, Red passed away in a violent car accident. I've never actually met him, but through family memories and stories, We've met. He is missed.
..The volcano errupted, after rumbling, quaking, & stirring, it happened... now the mountain is calm, but the fallout is visible, It'll take some time to clean up the mess...so much for "let it be"...I tried...

March 11, 2001... Today's Gospel lesson, "everything DOES NOT always work out", we may try and do all the best things, we may have God in our hearts but sometimes things just don't have a happy ending, a realistic lesson for life...
Who'd have ever thought that "tongue curling", "arm folding", "hand clasping", (right over left or left over right?) and longest toe, ear lobes or not, widows peak or not, hitchhiker thumb, dimples and chin clefts, hair on yer fingers, a bump on your nose, all these things are genetic traits, amazing! even the tongue curling...seems I have more recessive than dominant traits, hmmmmm, does that mean anything? am I not in the "norm" once again? well seems to me, clasping your hands and having right thumb over left seems VERY normal to me! Can you curl your tongue????
