An opportunity for musicians to assess, recognize, and change
strained musculoskeletal habits while making music. Awkward
holding patterns eventually lead to fatigue, soreness, and injury.
Under the guidance of music therapists and guest clinicians,
you will explore proper physical warm-ups and muscular preparations
for performing, as well as breathing techniques to prevent and
relieve repetitive strain.
Relaxation

Learning to practice and perform while staying relaxed and focused
mentally and physically is the objective of this course. Progressive
muscle relaxation, breathing techniques and visualization exercises
are presented for participants to experience and learn in order
to incorporate them into daily practice routines.
Maintaining

Learning to use your voice properly while keeping the vocal
folds healthy is essential to longevity in singing, public speaking,
lecturing and acting. This workshop presents techniques necessary
in caring for your voice.

of Conducting

of music reading skills, this seminar can be designed for novice
