Registration and Tuition

All students enrolling for individual or class music instruction and for music therapy services pay an annual, non-refundable registration fee. This fee covers enrollment in an unlimited amount of courses per year and is due at the time of enrollment.

Students may enroll for individual instruction or therapy at any time on a pro-rated basis for the duration of the term. In the event there are no openings, you will be placed on a waiting list. Student enrollment is limited by faculty and facility availability.

Read below to learn how to register for classes and read about tuition at the MAEC!

To Register:

1. Call the Music Academy office to discuss scheduling. We will be glad to let you know over the phone of any available openings that may fit your schedule. You will also need to fill out a registration form.

2. Once a suitable time is established, please return the registration form included with this booklet and the registration fee.

3. Your first lesson will be scheduled upon receipt of your registration fee.

For the Fall term, returning students are given priority in scheduling.

Program Cancellation:

MAEC reserves the right to cancel programs with insufficient enrollment. In the event that a class is cancelled, you will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another class. If you do not enroll in another class, you will receive a full tuition refund.

Tuition
To maintain continuity in study, students are expected to continue lessons for the full year of study, receiving 44 weeks of instruction. Classes are held with two 18 week semesters and an 8 week summer term. Since the study of any musical instrument is based on the steady achievement of both intellectual and physical skills, MAEC discourages short-term enrollments.

When deciding on the lesson length, you should consider the age and level of advancement of the student. Some instruments require a longer lesson due to the complexity of instruction. Your instructor will let you know when a longer lesson is indicated.

Students who enroll mid-year will be registered for all remaining weeks in the year; tuition will be pro-rated at the regular lesson rate.

Tuition is due at the beginning of the term. As a nonprofit community music school, we depend upon your prompt payment.

Registration Fee
$10 per student, payable once a year and covers enrollment from
August through July (including summer lessons).
