We
invite you to help us make our new facility a home for music
by participating in classes, lessons, and ensembles; by helping
to improve or decorate our facility; by assisting with fund
raising and/or becoming of one our financial supporters. You
will certainly be the recipient of much gratitude and satisifaction
as you watch your investment grow.
We
are excited to add new programs this year. A Jazz Studies component
has been added with classes and ensembles for youth and adults.
Along with taking private lessons, students may also participate
in an ensemble or class. Learn music theory, music history and
experience performing with peers. Expanded music therapy services
are available, both at MAEC and in community facilities.
Founded
in 1997 as a nonprofit 501(C)(3) community music school, MAEC
is an active member in the National Guild of Community Schools
of the Arts. We believe an education in the arts is one of the
most important and essential experiences a child, youth or adult
can enjoy. The Music Academy reaches out to support music education
through schools and organizations and brings music into the
lives of people with disabilities and medical problems through
the music therapy and adaptive music programs.
Our
caring and professional faculty are committed to providing the
highest quality instruction and welcomes students of all levels
and visions, young and old, accomplished and beginner. The benefits
of studying at Music Academy of Eastern Carolina far exceed
the joy of mastering a specific instrument, for in the study
of the arts, as research has shown, one learns focus, poise,
self-discipline and the values of working both independently
and as a team, all skills that promote success in life.
If
you haven't visited our school, come see and hear what we are
talking about. Come and experience the many sounds from acoustic
and electrical guitar to string bass and classical piano that
float through our halls. The Music Academy of Eastern Carolina
is for students of all ages, abilities, instruments, and styles.
If you are interested in music as a hobby or vocation, the Music
Academy is for you.
Happy
Practicing,
Cheryl Stephenson, Executive Director
