3.5. Disposition 3.5.1 Website Orientation The table of contents provided to the left of each page is meant to provide the reader with a general picture of the disposition of the thesis. Further, the site map outlines the website and gives a picture of the thesis that includes all headings and sub-headings. The thesis focuses on three main research areas and this is clearly mirrored in the subheadings of the Export Guide, Questionnaire, Research Results, Discussion and Conclusion. The research areas are: 1. Export Readiness 2. Trade Condition 3. Foreign Market Analysis It may be noted that the headings of the thesis do not strictly follow the traditional Swedish labeling for master thesis in business studies. Instead the headings have been chosen to fit the primary targeted audience and the contents of the thesis. The following brief description of the contents of the thesis sections is meant to clarify what can be found under each heading. 3.5.2 Website Ports-Welcome The thesis' website may be entered through different ports depending on the background and the requirements of the reader. The different ports lead to different introductions to the thesis. Sunfoods readers are initially presented with a short summary of the findings of thesis while the academic audience and other readers are given an introduction to Sunfoods and Konnyaku-Chips. Different readers may require different approaches to the same paper and the two different approaches to the thesis are meant to give each reader an introduction that suits him/her. However, all readers have access to all sections of the thesis through the table of contents to the left of each web page. 3.5.3 The Abstract and the Thesis Introduction The 'Abstract' summarizes the contents of the thesis and it includes a statement of the main findings and the principle conclusions of the paper. Initially in the 'Thesis Introduction' the 'Aim' of the thesis, the 'Background to the Research Topics' and the 'Research Topics' as such are presented. This is followed by a portrayal of the 'Targeted Audience' and the 'Disposition'. 3.5.4 The Research Method The Research Method aims to give the reader a picture of how the research was conducted and thereby it can be used as a tool to evaluate the reliability of the research. The Research Method section initially gives an account of the Constructive Research Method which can be seen as the scientific research method of the paper. The Research Process is thereafter described through the seven steps of the constructive research method. The following sections describe the Information Gathering, the Export Guide and Questionnaire Construction, the Analysis Method and Thesis Presentation and finally the Broad Scope of the Thesis. 3.5.5 The Export Guide, Questionnaire, Research Results,Discussion and Conclusion The Export Guide can be said to be a research tool that is used to solve the research problem of the paper. In other words, the Export Guide can be considered to be a problem solving construction which is used to determine whether Konnyaku-Chips should be exported from Japan to Sweden. The Questionnaire that follows can be seen as an extension of the Export Guide and it consists of a set of more specific questions meant to give answers to the Export Guides more general questions. The 'Research Results' presents the answers to the questions of the Questionnaire and in the 'Discussion' the results are discussed and interpreted. Finally the 'Conclusion' highlights the main findings of the research and the section named The Next Step addresses the next step in the research process after the Export Guide based research. The Export Guide, the Questionnaire, the Research Results, the Discussion and the Conclusion highlight the main research areas that are covered by the thesis; that is Export Readiness, Trade Condition, Foreign Market Analysis. This is also reflected in the subheadings of these sections of the thesis. 3.5.6 The Supplements In the Supplements the Site Map presented. This is followed by a Glossary where some words that are used in the thesis are explained. The Complete Interview Answers may be used as a reference by the readers who are interested in the specific answers given during the interview. In the Acknowledgements the researcher acknowledge some people whos help has been of great value to the thesis. Finally the sources of the thesis are presented. |
