| A SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE AND LOVE |
| Kaylee Barrone was a young and beautiful woman who had faced her share of heartache. Her mother's death, in the not too distant past, still haunted her. She had regrets that she had moved away from home and could not be the true source of help and comfort that her mother had needed. She did get to see her mother, and spend a few wonderful days with her, before her mother's condition quickly deteriorated, and she passed away. But, Kaylee was never able to truly forgive herself for not being around when her mother needed her. She had been in, what she thought, was a committed relationship. She had loved Jeff with all her heart, and saw a future life with him She wanted to be married, to have children, to just be happy. Funny how life can continuously deal such hurtful blows. She never suspected anything. Certainly not that she would walk in on Jeff, and his co-worker, having sex, and surely not that he would use her as a punching bag when he was caught doing it. Kaylee was almost completely alone in the world. She was so grateful to her best friend, Allison Hughes. Ali had let her move in, without a second thought, the night that Jeff had beaten her. She was trying to help Kaylee move forward with her life. She arranged the surprise trip to Cleveland. Kaylee needed to get away from the real world and Allison knew that this trip would help take her mind off everything else. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kevin Richardson was handsome, famous, and one of the truly kind and gentle souls left in the world. He was a member of the vocal group, the Backstreet Boys. Kevin appeared, to the outside world, as someone who had everything. They were wrong.... . Kevin was a deeply loving and emotional man. He had lost his father when he was 19 years old, and today, at 29, the pain from that was still so very fresh and strong. His father never had the chance to see the man that Kevin had become, and it was at his father's urging that Kevin had achieved his dreams and his goals. All his goals, that is, except one. Kevin had been seeing Trish for almost a year. He was committed....he was going to propose. He was going to get married, and have children. The one goal that still alluded him would finally be achieved. The guys tried to warn him. But, Kevin didn't listen. As always, he thought with his heart, not is head. He proposed. She shattered his world. *********************************************************************** Kaylee may not have known much about the Backstreet Boys, but Ali knew that she loved their song, Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely. It reminded Kaylee so much of her own life. It was one of the few pop songs that Kaylee knew all the words to, and she would tear up, in spite of herself at the first sounds of ...... "life goes on, as it never ends....." Kaylee Barrone had no way of knowing that, after all these years, Kevin Richardson still had the exact same reaction everytime he sang those words. |
