"You are not going to let me live that down are you," Kaylee sighed, rolling her eyes.

"Darlin, it's my job," Kevin chuckled into the phone, "'sides... you're such a cute drunk."

"Gee thanks....I
think," she mumbled, rolling her eyes.

"My pleasure...after all...."

"I know," she interrupted him, "you're my hot studly boyfriend and you are not about to let me forget that are you?"

"Nope...and I plan on reminding you over and over when I see you tomorrow," his  voice becoming softer, "I miss you, baby."

"I miss you, too .... but, we did it Kevin...."

"Yeah....we did....thank God. The guys were ready to kill me....said I wasn't gonna need a plane...they was just gonna launch me east with a hard kick in the ass."

"So..you spent a lot of time talking about us, huh," she asked softly.

"Hell no...just the hot studly boyfriend part.  They can't handle the truth," he huffed.

"Oh my God, Kevin...you......you so did not do that....oh shit Kevin....," her voice raised.

"Relax...I told them your friends said that...not you...now they want to talk some sense into your friends...they know it's hopeless as far as you...you're too far gone," his laughter overtaking him.

The light banter continued for a few more minutes before Kevin attempted to put an end to the call.

"Look at the time....I still have some stuff to finish up and my car's going to be here soon. Damn 'red eye' flight...at least I'll get some sleep on the plane.  You still sure you want to come to the airport...or do you need me to get a car? It's gonna be pretty early?"

"Are you kidding...wild horses couldn't keep me home...waiting for you to get here is another 20 minutes minimum...and  I don't want to wait one extra minute to see your gorgeous face."

After giving Kaylee his flight information, for the umpteenth time, Kevin finally forced them to hang up, hoping that both of them would be able to get some sleep.

Neither did.

Morning dawned crisp and cold in Pittsburgh as Kaylee practically bounced into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. Even through her drowsiness she smiled when she looked at the clock...5am. The longest two weeks of her life would finally be ending in a little under 2 hours.

"It sure is going to be a beautiful day isn't it sweetie," Ali asked as she stumbled into the kitchen behind Kaylee.

"In more ways than one my friend... I can't believe Kevin's going to be here soon.  Hey...why the hell are
you up at this hour?"

"Wanted to see you before you left for the airport....I am sooooo going back to bed when you leave. Oh yeah....about Kevin....are you sure he's going to be okay with coming to my birthday party tonight...I mean...you guys haven't seen each other in two weeks....he'll probably want you all to himself."

"I told you...he'll be fine. He knows how much you mean to me...and hell Ali, he even bought you a present...all by himself. Does that sound like he minds?"

"Alright..," she held up her hands in defeat, "I'll stop....he's.....wait...
what did you say??  He did WHAT? HE bought me a present? He, as in Kevin, bought me a present," her eyes wide.

Kaylee laughed as she filled her coffee mug and walked by her friend toward the stairs. "Yes...HE did... I had nothing to do with it. He won't even tell me what it is.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to take a shower and get dressed. I have someone to pick up at the airport.  Oh gosh, Al...Kevin's on a plane...right now...and he's almost here," she squealed as she used her free hand to grab her friend's arm.

"Kay...I have to ask," Ali's voice becoming more serious, "you are going to tell Kevin about Jeff, right?"

Kaylee dropped her head, "yes...I'm going to tell him tomorrow. I have to.....," she raised her eyes to meet her friend's gaze. "He called two more times...."

"Good Lord Kaylee...why didn't you tell me? Shit.....," Ali stood in front of her friend, taking her hand in hers. "Telling Kevin is the right thing to do sweetie...."

"I know that now Ali...Jeff's not going away...I need Kevin....."

"You've got Kevin sweetie....and together you'll get through this, okay," she said with confidence.

Kaylee nodded.

"No more of asshole right now my friend, you get that smile back on your face and go get ready for that handsome man of yours. I'm going back to bed....and then I've got a few more things to pack for the weekend excursion to mom's house," she looked heavenward. "What I won't do for you two.....but remember....I'm coming back after work on Monday. I love you guys...but you're only rid of me on weekends."

"Thank you," Kaylee smiled at her friend as they both went into their respective rooms. "I appreciate it....and I know Kevin does, too."

"My pleasure..," Ali's words trailed off as they each stepped into their rooms.

Kaylee wrung her hands together and ducked into the ladies room. It was 6:40 ...Kevin's flight was due in at 6:44. She had checked the arrival boards for the flight status every chance she got, nerves threatening to overtake her.

Barrone....this is as good as it gets at this hour, she thought, giving herself a quick once over.  She was wearing black jeans, a white angora v-neck sweater, the necklace Kevin gave her, and a black leather jacket. "It's Kevin for goodness sake....why am I so damn nervous," she muttered, "oh yeah..as if that's not reason enough for nerves...it's Kevin."

She walked back out to the concourse area where everyone was waiting for the incoming flights, and went straight to the arrival board as she glanced at her watch. When she looked back up at the board, she saw what she had been waiting for....

Arrival  from Los Angeles   Flight 1423  Gate 46   AT GATE

"Damn security...he's getting off the plane...and I can't be right there.....it's going to take him another 10 minutes to get here."

She didn't even realize she spoke out loud until the older woman next to her gently squeezed her arm making her jump slightly.

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay," she spoke softly with a slight shake of her head, "I'm a little jumpy right now."

"I can see that....waiting for someone special?"

"Yes," her smile widening as she turned to face the woman, "he's
very special and I haven't seen him in two weeks. Shoot......I couldn't even sleep last night I'm so excited. How about you....who are you here for?"

"My sister. We live together in the North Hills....she's been gone for 4 months visiting her daughter. I couldn't sleep last night either....but it sure doesn't compare to waiting for a young man......," her voice trailing off as she turned to scan the people coming toward them.  When she noticed the tall man who had stopped in front of them and removed his sunglasses, she turned to Kaylee. "Honey...," she was tipping head to the side, "is that the someone special you're........"

Kaylee had turned her head...feeling her body shaking. She didn't have to look to know it was him.

"Kevin," her voice barely a whisper, the tears already starting.

For a few seconds neither of them moved. Kaylee took in the sight in front of her. He was wearing tan corduroy pants, boots, a red turtleneck, a short dark brown leather jacket and his favorite UK hat.

Kevin let out the breath he had been holding as he pulled his carry on over his head, dropping it to the floor.  With two long strides he had her enfolded in his arms, crushing her to him..not able to get close enough. She rested her head on his chest as he wrapped one arm around her shoulders and gently stroked her hair with the other. He pressed a tender kiss to the top of her head.

"God, I missed you so much," he whispered into her hair.

She lifted her head and he touched his forehead to hers. She gently wiped his tears with her thumbs. "I missed you, too...."

"I hate to do this my dear, but people are starting to look at your young man," the older woman leaned in so they could hear her.

Turning to look at her, Kevin rested his cheek on Kaylee's head and continued to hold her tightly to himself.

"Can't say I blame them...he is beautiful," Kaylee replied on a soft sigh.

"Thank you ma'am," Kevin nodded at the woman, "this is the part of my life that makes me crazy. Whaddya say baby.....I think it's about time you got me out of here. Let's get to baggage claim...then you can take me home," he smiled as he reached down for his bag.

The older woman reached for Kaylee and spoke softly. "Is he someone...a celebrity or something?  Everyone is staring at him...and while I admit...even to these old eyes, he's quite stunning, but so are you my dear, and frankly...no one's looking at you the way they're looking at him."

Kaylee looked back at Kevin as he slipped the brown leather strap of his carry on over his head and across his chest before turning her attention back to the woman.

"Yes...you could say he's famous.....and I think I really do need to get him out of here before...oh oh...too late," she stopped, turning her attention back to Kevin. He was posing for a picture with a young girl and signing some autographs. "Thanks for the conversation, I hope your sister gets here soon," Kaylee squeezed the woman's hand before stepping toward Kevin.

Kevin posed for one last picture before making his apologies and holding his hand out to Kaylee.  "That's the one good thing about flying at this god awful hour of the day...not too many people out ..at least in arrivals....that recognize me...that wasn't too bad at all." He looked around at the sparse number of people in the airport as they arrived at baggage claim and just tucked his sunglasses in his bag. "Hell...I think the people from my flight are the only ones here...
damn...there go my bags," he rolled his eyes as he was able to stretch out and reach them before they circled around to the back one more time.

Kevin could not be convinced to wait at the curb with his bags while Kaylee got the car..."I'd probably sit in a corner and fall asleep," so he walked through the crisp morning air with Kaylee.

"Damn...it's cold."

"It is not," she laughed while shaking her head, "it's chilly...you're just a big baby used to the sunshine."

"I can see my own breath....that means it's cold," he argued.

She pressed the button to open her trunk and looked up at him, "it is not cold, it's crisp."

"Crisp....chilly....whatever you want to call it....my ass is freezing out here woman," he bent into the trunk pushing his suitcases to the back.

Kaylee watched him as his pants pulled tight across his backside. She had been warm enough, but now a different kind of warmth ran through her body when she realized she had been caught staring. Kevin's lips curled up into a sexy grin as she blushed and looked at her keys.

"You're checking out my butt," he teased as he closed the trunk, "my frozen butt."

"Ummm...well....maybe I was....never really saw one that was frozen."

When she looked up at him he had taken a step closer to her and was now close enough that she just dipped her head under his chin. He wrapped one arm around her and then pulled his head back slightly to look down at her.  Placing his finger under her chin, he lifted her face and pressed his lips to her ear, whispering,
"I need to kiss you." He lightly licked his lips as he brought both hands up to her face and slowly lowered his soft lips to hers. The kiss was tender and sweet, almost tentative as they wrapped their arms around each other. "More...please....," his words soft against her mouth...his tongue gently parting her lips. Kevin gently caressed her tongue with his, dipping deeply, tasting..remembering every nuance of the woman he loved.

Kaylee felt her knees weaken and Kevin tightened both arms around her as she moaned softly into the kiss, "mmmm...you taste so good."  Her heart felt as if it would pound out of her chest just from his kisses. His lips were so soft, his tongue felt like velvet.....

Dear God can he kiss.

"We better go," his voice deep as he broke the kiss.

"Uh huh," her eyes still closed as she pressed closer to him.

"Now.....," his breathing hitched as she pulled his hips to hers.

"Yeah...we better.....," her eyes now open, lifting to meet his.

"...'k....we're goin'......,"  he glanced around assuring they were still alone in the parking lot, as he ground his hips into hers.

"Kevin....seriously," she moaned out loud, "we better go....we can't do this in a damn parking lot...and remember....your frozen ass?"

"Trust me...my ass is nicely thawed right now,"  his voice still deep and seductive, but his eyes were now twinkling, "wanna feel for yourself?"

"No," she playfully swatted at his chest before turning to get into the car.

"NO," he clutched his chest with mock indignation, "oh that hurts...you're a cruel woman."

"Shut up and get in the car Kevin."

"Easy for you to say," he mumbled as he attempted to adjust the front of his pants before dropping into the seat.

When they were both finally in the car, Kaylee was able to attempt the drive home. This proved to be more difficult than she imagined since her passenger seemed to have developed a fascination with her thigh....squeezing, massaging...drawing random patterns.

"I swear Kevin..you're going to make me wreck," she said when he reached for her hand and kissed the palm.

"I'm not doin' nuthin'...just drive.....," he mumbled as he drew a finger into his mouth.

"Oh good God.......," she moaned, "would you stop it......"

He watched her face as her cheeks fired pink, and even though she tried to sound angry her smile gave her away.

"Okay....," he sighed, "I'll stop. I just can't help myself. I'm telling you...if you stopped this car...I'd take you right here...right now."

Shit....oh shit.......why'd he go and say that......oh shit.......no...stop it...what the hell are you thinking Kaylee.....you're not a kid....you have a nice bed at home....just keep driving...but damn......

She glanced over at him and gasped at the intensity of his gaze. He had removed his hat and was nervously running his fingers through his hair.

"I'm sorry Kaylee......"

"Don't apologize," she looked back to the road, and reached for his hand. "Ya know what? For a second there....I considered pulling over and letting you do it...so don't be sorry."

They both laughed...able to continue their light banter and conversation...both of them surprised at how quickly the time had passed when Kaylee turned into the driveway.  She pressed the button to open the trunk and walked up to unlock the front door.  When she heard the trunk close as quickly as it had opened, she turned only to find Kevin directly behind her.  Wrapping his arms around her waist, he rested his chin on her shoulder as she opened the door.

"Kevin....your bags......," she giggled as she tried to walk in the door with him draped over her back.

As soon as the door closed, he stepped in front of her and pressed her against it, kissing her deeply...pressing his body against hers.

"They can wait.....," his voice a low growl as he pressed his hips into hers, "I can't....." He dipped slightly to trail wet kisses along her neck, as he tucked his hands between her hips and the door....kneading her behind. Slowly straightening, his mouth found hers again as he held her hips tightly pressing his growing arousal against her.

"
I want you...now....," his voice husky as he pulled away, taking her hand in his as they walked up the stairs...no other words spoken....no other words needed.
