Kaylee had pushed herself away from the wall, and headed down the street.  She hadn't gotten very far when she swore she heard someone call her name.  "No, it can't be", she said to herself, "no one here knows me. But, that voice.....it sounded so familiar."  She turned her head around. "Oh my god", she whispered, "is that Kevin?" She swore she saw a dark haired man standing back in the crowd. "No...that's not him...it can't be", she sighed, "I just want it to be him so badly....I'm starting to see things." She headed back up the street, but not before she risked one more glance over her shoulder.  "Kevin.....I wish I knew how to find you", she sighed and shook her head. "The hotel staff would never, ever tell me any info about a registered guest, would they?", Kaylee wondered, "and, dear lord, what would I do or say if I found him anyway?" She shook her head, and continued her walk. "Holy shit, this day is going to be as strange as yesterday...."

Kaylee found herself at a local park. She took a seat on the closest bench. It was early fall, but, the weather was very pleasant. She watched the people in the park. The children playing on the swings. The couples walking hand in hand. She sighed and thought of all that she was missing in her life.

She had been dating Jeff for almost 8 months. She thought things were going along pretty good. He did seem to have a bit of a temper, but he never took it out on her directly. He did shower he with all the things a person could want....materialistically. He had a hard time opening up...showing his emotions, but she thought she could help him be more like her, open and demonstrative. Jeff kept things to himself. Toward the end, she noticed him to be pulling away from her. Not calling as often...not taking her out. He was always too busy with work. She decided to surprise him one Saturday afternoon. She thought she would let herself in his apartment, and get a little dinner ready for them. It would be such a great surprise. She was the one that got the surprise. She opened the door and set everything down in the kitchen, then headed for the stereo in the living room. As she got further in the living room she heard the woman's voice coming from the bedroom. Actually she heard the moans and the strong urges. She heard Jeff's voice, matching the woman's, urging her on...urging himself...until she could no longer stand it. She threw the door open and saw Jeff's eyes pop open. The woman's back was to the door, but she soon realized what was going on. She jumped off Jeff, and ran into the bathroom.  Jeff was frozen on the bed. He tried to call to Kaylee, but she just turned and walked out.

She remembered getting into her apartment...and Jeff pounding on the door shortly afterward.
"Let me in Kaylee!", he screamed and pounded on the door, "we have to talk about this!" After what seemed like an eternity, Kaylee agreed to let him in. He took one step across the threshhold and slapped her across the face. "Don't EVER do something like that to me again!  Do you hear me?", he yelled as he continued striking her, while all the time, telling her how much he loved her. She finally collapsed on the floor, and he walked out. She called Ali...and moved in with her the next morning.

Now she was sitting in a park, watching stranger's children and feeling a sense of loss for what she might never have in her life. And, no matter how much she thought of that, and how much that hurt,  there was still one thought that kept flashing back to her.  Kevin.  His face was haunting her memory. She thought for sure she would go crazy. She wondered if he liked kids as much as she did....she wondered if he would be a good father...she wondered if he would be a good lover...."KAYLEE! What are you thinking about????", she said, to herself, "do NOT even start going there, ok? You're a crazy woman, do you know that??"

She checked the time, and realized she had better start back to the hotel. Ali would worry if she was 5 minutes late. She only hoped that she wouldn't get lost on the way back there.

It turned out to be much easier to find going back, the second time.  She immediately noticed the additional buses around the side of the hotel. She counted them quickly. "Well...well", she thought, "now there's five of them. I guess that pretty much settles my Kevin issue. MY Kevin was here last night. There were only three buses here before, now there's five.  Backstreet Boy Kevin must've arrived today, too. So MY Kevin can't be THEIR Kevin", she chuckled.      'MY Kevin...what a laugh."  Kaylee stepped into the lobby and right into an elevator. She just looked out at the people in the lobby, shook her head, and headed up to the 12th floor.

"If I could only find Kevin now....it would mean so much to me. Especially since I'm willing to bet, that he is NOT Backstreet Kevin", she mumbled, "oh Kevin....show yourself to me...somewhere...sometime...just please, do it!" And, with that, she stepped off the elevator and walked to her room, leaning her head against the door. She finally opened the door..and stepped in. "Oh Kaylee, you did it good this time...you can't stop thinking about a man you met last night. A drunk, fashionable, and very gorgeous man!

"A very desireable man!", she said outloud.

"Kaylee...what are  you going to do now???!!!???!"
