"Put me down you big shit," Kaylee's voice carried through the nighttime air.

"Nope," was all he muttered as he fumbled around attempting to unlock the front door.

Kaylee thought she was home free when the Jeep stopped at the front door.  She took off running only to feel a strong pair of arms grab around her waist. And, yet again, she was looking at the pavement..upside down...from over Kevin's shoulder. Although, she had to admit, the "other" view she had was very nice. As she tried to reach her hands down to squeeze his backside, she squirmed.....

"Keep still...I'll never get this door unlocked," his tone of voice barely disguising the laughter that threatened to overtake him.

"Then put ... me ... down," her hands finally lifting the bottom of his jacket as she traced her fingernails along the exposed skin causing him to shiver.

"Can't," his voice suddenly growing softer, "....not yet."

"Can't or won't"

Finally unlocking the door, he stumbled in, kicked the door shut behind him and set Kaylee down.  He held her closely to him as he reached around her to lock the deadbolt.  He tossed his keys in the vicinity of the kitchen and took a step closer, turning her in his arms as he gently pressed her back against the closed door...his palms flat against the door, one on each side of her head.  His breath hot against her as he lowered his face to hers.  Even in the dark of the house, Kevin's eyes shined brightly as he kept them focused on her mouth...he lightly licked his lips....

"Kiss......," his lips touching hers, "now...."

The initial contact was soft as Kevin tilted his head to fully capture her lips. Kaylee found it hard to breathe as he pulled back, sucking on her lower lip.

"Again..."

His mouth descended on hers....this kiss deep ... probing....wanting.

"Off," his voice raspy as reached for the zipper of her coat.  Sliding it down, he  pushed the coat over her shoulders, pulled it from behind her, and let it fall to the floor.

He pressed his long hard body against her, his knee between her legs....holding her captive, as he removed his own coat.  When his arms were free he tangled his fingers in her hair and pulled her face close to his.  Slow...light...feathery kisses covered her face as she drew her fingers along his strong jaw...around his neck and slid them in his hair.

He dropped his hands down her arms onto her hips. Sliding her up onto his leg, he reached down hooking his arms under her thighs....lifting her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist, touching her forehead to his.

"Hey caveman....take me upstairs...," her breathy whisper against his face making him tremble. "I want my dessert.... and I want it ......"

"Now....," his voice deep, his breathing shallow as he started to climb the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, Kaylee grabbed his face and kissed him deeply.  "I love Kevin RIchardson......but damn ...," her mouth moving to his ear, "this caveman fella is sexy as hell...."

"Shit," was all he could manage to say as the intensity of her kiss practically sent him reeling backward down the stairs.

Suddenly the short walk down the hall to his bedroom seemed to take forever.  She continued her assault on his senses...kissing his face, stroking her fingers over the back of his neck, whispering her wants and desires....

"Damn woman...you keep that up...you'll see a caveman.. I'll take you
right here .. in the hall...on the floor.....won't need no bed."

"Oooh..I'm so scared..." she smiled against his cheek.

"Well..you should be....," he huffed, while trying not to laugh.

When he finally made it into the room, he went straight to the bed, reached down and pulled the covers back.  Bending his knee onto the mattress, he fell with her onto the bed...his hands bracing himself on top of her.

"So.....guess it's time for dessert ...anything
special you want," his voice serious...his eyes smiling.

"You, Kevin....only you....you're my
special dessert...you're what I want," her fingers gently touching his face...as he lowered his lips to hers.

"Good answer baby...," his mouth joining hers in a powerful kiss. "I got so many
special desserts I want to share with you.....all night," as they struggled to remove their clothes.

Their lovemaking was light and playful...whispered words of love...gentle caresses punctuated with deep sighs and a feeling of complete contentment safe in each others arms .... safe in each others love.

"You still with me Kaylee," he whispered into her hair as she nuzzled her face against his throat. They were facing each other as his one hand gently caressed her back under the blanket.

"Mmm hmmm....," her arms tightening around him, "why....you have more on that dessert cart of yours, oh great master chef?"

He tipped her face up to him...his eyes locking with hers, his fingers gently tracing her cheek.  He sighed deeply.

"You're amazing," his voice a soft whisper against her face, "everything about you...."

"No...no I'm......."

"Shhh," his finger pressed against her lips, "let me talk....."

Kaylee nodded and kissed his fingertip.

"My mom was so worried....after she found out about Trish...," his voice gentle, "and then  I started to see you..she thought it was too soon....she worries about me."

"She loves you so much Kevin...it's so obvious."

He blushed, "yeah.....she does......but she worries because of the way I am...who I am....and that it would be so hard for me to find someone that really loves me...just me...not who I am. I told her the whole story about us...and that I tried to fight it...kept trying to deny it. Hell..Luke yelled at me so many times...I'm surprised he didn't just pop me one....think he came close a couple times."

"I know the feeling sweetie....Ali did the same thing to me."

He pulled her closer, kissing the top of her head. "Why'd we fight it baby....why...," he tipped his head back so he could see into her eyes...his large hand cradling her cheek.

"Me...I was afraid to get hurt again. You...well....I guess you were afraid too...afraid that it was too soon....afraid to get hurt....afraid of me.......," her voice trailing off.

"I was never....ever...afraid of you. I knew you weren't a 'fan' from the beginning. I may have been drunk sweetheart, but...I was sober for days after that...you didn't have a clue who I was...I knew that. I wanted that....you make me feel good about me.  That's what I want to do for you....to make you feel good about you...to make sure you always know how much I love you.  Lovin' me isn't easy...I can be moody...I'm a perfectionist...I got a temper...and God knows I can't just go out and be a normal man..there's so many barriers with who I am...but you...you, Kaylee..have made me feel more normal than anyone has....ever....I am so very much in love with you," his eyes searching her face as he tucked her hair behind her ear.

"Kevin....one thing I can tell you for sure....I didn't know you...had no idea you were someone famous. I just knew I was captivated by your eyes," she blushed, "and the rest of you wasn't so bad either."

"
Really," his eyes wide, his voice soft.

"Yes...really....you're gorgeous Kevin...but your eyes...your eyes haunted me.  And, as I've gotten to know you....there's so much more to you than who you are...I'm in love with what you are....a beautiful man ... in here," her hand resting on his chest, over his heart.

Kevin closed his eyes, "damn woman...no wonder you had my family eatin' out of your hand," he drawled, his voice breaking, as he held her hand tightly against his chest, "and that's not an easy thing to do.....damn near impossible actually..."

"I love your family Kevin...I can see how much they love you....hopefully they can see how much I love you, too."

"They do....," he smiled recalling his conversation with his mom, "trust me.  When you were in the kitchen with Maddy...my mom told me to hold on to you...said she'd kick my ass if I hurt you...and my mama don't say stuff like that too often."

"I knew there was a reason I loved her," Kaylee smiled against his cheek, as she kissed him lightly, "I bet she would..and could...kick your ass buddy...so don't give her a reason to, ok?"

He gently rested his cheek against the top of her head...."I don't plan on baby....I sure don't plan on......."

They soon fell into a deep and restful sleep ...arms, legs and hearts entwined together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their time in Kentucky flew past them both so quickly, neither wanted to sleep at night...not wanting to miss even a few hours of being a normal couple in love. They both knew that when it came time to leave everything would be different. Kaylee had her life at home....Kevin had his
"Backstreet" world that never stopped for even a brief minute. But, for now...they were content to be as "normal" as the world allowed them...neither of them wanting to think about the fact that when they returned home, their lives would keep them on opposite sides of the country...and hoping that their hearts would somehow keep them together.
Kaylee woke up before Kevin on Saturday, and slid gently out of his embrace. Propping herself on her elbows, she glanced down at the man laying next to her. He had rolled onto his back, and was snoring softly. The arm that had been around her, now stretched out beside him...his other arm up on the pillow over his head.  Morning stubble covering his face, his long eyelashes resting on his cheeks. The covers had slid down exposing his broad chest and he had kicked one long leg out onto the top of the comforter....his tattoo slightly visible.
"You're so beautiful Kevin. God didn't spend a little more time on you...he spent alot more...," she whispered as she rubbed her knuckles over his cheek.  He stirred slightly, but didn't wake up as she slipped out of the bed to shower and dress. She kissed him lightly on the nose and made her way outside, heading for the lake, as she did every morning.
After a few hours time, she made her way back to the house where she found Kevin waiting on the porch swing.  He patted the spot next to him...and she sat down, snuggling into his embrace...her face pressed against his neck. He smelled incredible...clean, masculine and so very sexy.
"What'cha wanna do today," he asked, as he rested his cheek on her head.
"Nothing....can't we just stay here...like this....all day......," she sighed deeply.
"Sure we could....if that's what you want.  You do know we'd freeze our asses off though...and I would get hungry eventually."
"Richardson," she sat up and turned his face to hers, trying to be stern, "you're a wimp...afraid of the cold...think you'll starve....geez...."
"Wimp am I? Hmph...," he lifted his chin and turned his head in mock indignation.
She slid herself onto his lap, reached her hand up to his face and turned his face back toward her again. She could see that he was biting his lip to keep from laughing.
"You heard me handsome...a wimp."
"WIMP?  Baby...a wimp couldn't love you like I do...all night long..., his voice lazy and deep.
"Yeah....riiiiiight.....sure....," her voice suddenly catching as his fingers lightly danced over her face.
"Over and over....," his lips against hers, his breath hot on her skin.
"Aaahh...yeah.....okay....maybe you're right....maybe you're not a wimp.....," she gasped as he slid his tongue over her lower lip, gently sucking it into his mouth.
"Damn straight," his mouth capturing hers completely...kissing her slowly and deeply as if he was trying to memorize every taste...every feeling...every sensation.
Kevin was the first to break the kiss, and he rested his forehead against hers.
"I don't wanna go tomorrow," his breathing ragged.
She smiled sadly, "me, neither."
He pulled her closer to him, and held her in his arms.
"I miss you already," his voice so soft she didn't even hear him.
After a few hours, cold and hunger eventually won out and they made their way back into the house. It was late afternoon and once again Kevin chased Kaylee out of the kitchen...grateful that they had changed their plans. After nights of visiting his mother, his brothers, old friends ... a quiet night alone was what they needed and wanted.
It was almost as if the awkwardness of their first night was trying to return. Each lost in their own private thoughts and feelings...both aware that, again, things would be different in the morning.  There were very few words exchanged, but so much was said with their eyes, their touches....their silence spoke what they were afraid to put into words.
This night...they
both cleaned the kitchen...they both shut all the lights...and they both walked together, up the stairs to Kevin's bedroom.
