Toilets
In Japan their exists two types of toilets: japanese and western toilets. To use the squat type, face the hooded side of the toilet and give your leg muscles a good workout. Make sure that you clothing does not touch the ground. There are a lot of public restrooms. The ones in department stores, hotels, fast-food shops and restaurants are usually well maintained, but facilites in public parks and subways are unsafe and smelly. Toilet paper is provided but paper hand towels are not. Some toilet seats have gone high tech with buttons controlling water tempurature, strength and aim of stream and air dryer.
