Snappers Look to Make it Back to the Playoffs The Snappers finished the 2005 season with their best record in team history (22-20), which was also good enough to give them their first ever playoff birth. In the playoffs they were matched against the Fisterbottoms, and nearly pulled off the upset of the number one seed, they took them all the way to a fifth game. In this elimination game they were close, and lost by a single run, 4-3. The 2006 Snappers will have a strong nucleus of returning players, the likes of which includes Miguel Cabrera, David Ortiz, Bobby Abreu, Johnny Damon, Morgan Ensberg, and possibly the best starting pitcher in the league, Roger Clemens. The Snappers should have a lineup fairly similar to last year, which was a successful one. In the draft the Snappers will be selecting sixth overall, and their main concern is starting pitching. Other than Clemens they have no one else that they can put into their starting rotation, so they will be looking to add some depth. Another concern of theirs is the Shortstop position, they will have to adress that issue in the draft as well. The Snappers are in the Jackson Weite League Central Division, which could be the most competitive in the league, they will be looking to try to take the division title and make it back to the playoffs for another chance to make a run at the Jackson Cup. |
