Sandwizards Hope to Follow Lee in 2006

After a disappointing 2005 season the Registered Nurses have changed their name to the Sandwizards, and also look to make many roster changes over the offseason. The Nurses just could not get any momentum going during the season, and they finished with a franchise worst record of (15-27).

The Sandwizards are going to look for their firstbaseman Derrek Lee to carry the team on his back in the 2006 season. Alongside of him the Wizards will have Derek Jeter, and outfielders Moises Alou, Carlos Beltran, and CoCo Crisp. Expect to see a lot of new faces also in the Sandwizards lineup filling out the rest of the spots in their order.

The Sandwizards will have the third overall pick in the 2006 draft. They need to add a lot of depth to the current starting pitching rotation, which now consists only of Ben Sheets. Other positions that the Sandwizards will have to address are thirdbase, catcher, and secondbase.

The offseason is going to be crucial to the success of the Sandwizards in 2006. If they can make some key aquistitions to fill out their batting order, and pitching rotation, they could set themselves to make a run at the postseason in 2006.
