Dueces Will Try To Avoid Dropping a Duece in '06 The Ellusive Dueces finished out the 2005 season missing the playoffs by just one game, a team that was expected to finish near the bottom of the Jackson Weite League standings. It would have been their second playoff appearance in as many years, but instead they will have to wait for the 2006 season for their next oppurtunity to win the Jackson Cup. The 2006 season could be a difficult one for the Dueces. They will have to try to contend despite losing a lot of pop in their lineup. One bright spot is returning thirdbasemen Alex Rodriguez, also firstbasemen Paul Konerko. These two players will be asked to produce most of the power in the Dueces lineup for the upcoming season. They will also be able to get production out of Shortstop Carlos Guillen, and Catcher Jason Varitek. The Ellusive Dueces will select fourth in the draft. Their focus will need to be set on gathering starting pitching, as right now the best pitcher on the roster is Brandon Webb. They also will have to pay some attention to the secondbase spot, and the outfield could be strengthened. The Dueces are going to have a very difficult time contending in the Jackson Weite League Western Division. They will be competing against two of the leagues toughest teams, the Agitators and Fisterbotoms. This could very well be a rebuilding year for the Dueces.
