The Jackson Weite League was created in the summer of 2003, and has seen the completion of three full seasons. The Jackson Weite League is a collection of some of the greatest baseball talent in all of the world. The league originally consisted of eight teams, but now with expansion there are going to be nine for the 2006 season. Each regular season consists of 42 games, and 4 of the teams qualify for the playoffs. The semi-finals have a best of 5 series, and the Jackson Cup Finals are a best of 7 series. Now that there are nine teams in the league, there will be three divisions. Each division winner will qualify for the playoffs and there will be a wildcard awarded to the best second place team. In 2003, the Fisterbottoms became the first team to ever win the Jackson Cup after they staged a ninth inning comeback in game seven of the Jackson Cup Finals. A two run home run by Jeff Kent tied the game up, and Todd Helton hit a walk off homerun in the home half of the eleventh inning to end the series. In 2004, the Blue Hayes went from last place in 2003 to Jackson Cup Champs. They won the series in 6 games over the Whistling Finches with a couple of strong pitching performances by Jason Schmidt, and game six, extra inning, game winning single by Jeff Kent, a heroic figure from the previous Jackson Cup, with a new team. In 2005, the Fisterbottoms reclaimed the trophy in seven games. The finally saw an excellent performance by Johan Santana on the mound. All of the offense came from Victor Martinez in the form of a sacrifice flyout, and a 3 run home run to break a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning.
