Grey Gooses Welcomed to Jackson Weite League

2006 will be the inagural season for the Grey Gooses, as they become the Jackson Weite League's first ever expansion team. The Gooses are set to compete in the JWL's Eastern Division alongside the Ship Biscuits and the Blue Hayes, the Gooses feel that they will be able to challenge for a division title right away. In the expansion draft the Gooses made Pedro Martinez their first overall selection. The 33 year old right hander brings some great pitching experience to the rotation, and along with Josh Beckett and the first overall pick in the draft the Gooses should have a very well developed pitching rotation. The Gooses were also able to pick up some pretty good bats in the expansion draft aquiring young, future superstar thirdbasemen, David Wright, as well as Alfonso Soriano. They also were able to add former All Jackson Team outfielder, Lance Berkman. The Gooses are expecting to have a good first season in a wide open division.
